Yeah, this is why puppets and practical effects are in the past, CGI looks so much better, and if it doesn’t, as George says, make it better, no matter the cost, always do cutting edge new tech and experiment, instead of just using known technology, it’s so boring.

Andrew forgot, we've seen the Armorer in action before. When Din and company were fleeing the Imperials towards the end of Season 1. The Imperials found her at her forge and she took them all out. Also, I think Din is going to be instrumental in gathering the clans because he wields the Darksaber. He lives by the old ways, but follows Bo Katan. He wields the Darksaber, but she has seen a mythosaur. They are both a combination of old and new ways. I don't think that they'll become romantically involved, but I do think that they'll work together to unite the Mandalorian people.

    • @ouandello

Of course Djin has to follow his kid's mom lol. It's hard not to notice the two strong Mandalorian women in this covert nurturing and guiding Grogu.
Bo in the cave when she pushed Grogu back when she shot at the Time Machine creatures at the ceiling, that was a motherly instinct. And the Armorer adding another piece of important armor on Grogu, sees his strong potential and how he'll be an important Mandalorian in the future.
Trained by Jedis and strong with the force. Then raised by Mandalorians. Grogu is going to be a problem when he grows up.

The armorer never referred to Bo as the prophesized leader of the Mandalorian, she's serving more of a herald, envoy and ambassador. In my opinion, this could cause friction depending on how Bo interpreted the task she was given, considering she has the desire to be the authority figure. This reminds me of how John Walker became obsessed of becoming the next Captain America even if he wasn't worthy of it.

    • @littlemouse7066

dipping in the living waters not to be purified (so for a selfish reason) but to save another (for an unselfish reason) and seeing the mythosaur has changed her and the beast in my opinion is a vision in that moment she became a different leader and the mythosaur is the sign she was destined to reunite them that's why the armorer gave her that task. that doesn't necessarily mean she will rule them but she's surely an important person. Her destiny is to reunite them. and in my opinion everybody will change and the change is already happening the moment the Armorer asked her to remove her helmet. the cynics will have to recognize the importance of tradition the super ortodox will have to let go of some extremes like not showing their faces or giving power to someone only because he/she has the dark saber (Gideon had it for a time had he the right to rule?). that's the only way they can reunite and get Mandalore back.

    • @Drummer4President
      @Drummer4President Před rokem +1

Bo doesn’t want to become the “authority figure” in that she wants power. She wanted it so she could bring all her people together. There’s a big difference.
I don’t think the new mandalore should have ONE ruler. That just leads to dictatorship. It should follow the way that the coverts are doing it. By a majority vote. And Bo has now seen that. Which is what The Armourer meant. She’s walked in both worlds now, she and Dinn can help bridge the gap between the different tribes.

Paz looking over to Din before he accepted the armorer's decision, is another example. There isnt going to be a power struggle between Din and Bo. Rather it's going to be more of a dual Modern/Traditional Ruler setup.

The Darksaber’s kyber syncronizes with any creed-congruent wielder who wants to unite Mandalore.

Bringing back Elia Kane from my least favorite episode here really sets up something that is coming, and it's big.
The entire Nevarro action sequence was incredible. It was like something out of a war movie. Every portion of that battle is like it could've been in a movie. That, in my opinion, is why streaming is a nice balance.

Great storytelling. Especially the complexity of leadership in a broken group: the cult and the Mandalorians who rejected Bo and left. Now Bo has to reunite the Mandalorian community. And how Bo and Mando relate remains a question - perhaps one that won't be resolved until season 5!

Formidable episode that beautifully ties in all the previous disjointed plotpoints, but seriously, how is nobody talking about the director !? PETER RAMSEY !!! One of the 3 directors from Spiderverse !!! And you guys wondered why this episode had such a theatrical look to it !? And no wonder why it also blend in such great elements of animation (Zeb in particular).
What a first foray in live action ! And in Star Wars !!!
I'm really looking forward to whatever he comes up next. If Star Wars is looking for a new movie director, I really feel the Mandalorian series is prepping up their new stable of all the next movies sagas, with Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isac Chung, Carl Weathers and now Peter Ramsey !

The title of the series is 'The Mandalorian'. Not 'Din Djarin and Friends'. ANY of the Mandalorians could take center stage - and Bo Katan is a Mandalorian.
Edit: Aaaaaaand I watched further, and saw the lovely Courtney make the same exact point I did.

Grogu has to speak the creed and he won't be able to talk for a long time based on how long it takes his species to age, so I don't think he will get a helmet. I could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

Din Djarin is 'The Mandalorian', Jon F is constantly calling Pedro the name. Even Brendan Wayne said Din was the lead character in an interview I was listening to the other day. I just think they are building Bo up at the moment. Also, Din is the one who is bringing everyone together, not just the Mandalorian's, he has the diplomatic skills and pretty easily brings "outsiders" on side with him to help his and their cause. I've yet to see that in Bo. She is a good strategist and lead for that role, that doesn't make someone a good leader of an entire creed (if that is the right word).

Maybe the Mandalorian's that were loyal to the empire. Maybe Clan Saxon, as Gar Sixon was loyal to Maul and the Empire, as his brother Tigar Saxon did as well. The rest of the clan may have continued to be hitman for the Empire.

i really agreed with Cortney's analysis of the show when they were talking about Jaby's question on how people feel about Bo-Katan being set up as leader. At the end of the day the show is about Mandalorians. I definitely prefer Bo-Katan in the leadership role as Din doesn't even want it. He is still our main character, but this show is ultimately being set up to join up with and center around Mandalorians and their culture, though Din will still be main character

I’ve seen all the problems with the “side character” and the “leader position” thing with Din and I have to agree on that. It seems off to most people that for 2 seasons they’ve been setting Din as a fitting leader by him being able to unite various groups of people with different mindsets against common enemies, in tbob he also does it. Versus the building with Bo-katan during clone wars and Rebels in which she’s always been the warrior she needed to be for her people, even if it was at the expense of her sister’s life. She was not exactly a fitting leader when it came to it and ultimately ended up loosing mandalore to the empire. I agree that It all may seem odd to the people who have been following the stories closely

Great reactions, Guys and Gal. Yes, the world of the Mandoverse is getting larger by the minute. Still, I'm not crazy about how The New Republic is being portrayed as rather ineffective too much of the time. I'm left wondering if this is due to the artistic constraints of The Sequel Trilogy's (Frankenstein's Monster-esque)storytelling.
P.S. The cameo live-action debut of Zeb was great. His rendering was excellent. I have even higher hopes for Ahsoka, now.

When a woman likes you, she will cook for you.
Bo prepared a meal for mando not grogu.
She dove into that water to save din without a ounce of hesitation.
Then she tells him she would invite over to her place for dinner but knows he won't remove his helmet.
no woman allows a man to be alone with her in her place and prepares a meal unless she is interested.
especially a queen who is used to being served and obeyed
single available women dress to attract a mate bo-katan is the only one you can clearly identify from the waste down.
when the pilot arrives bo follows mando out then shows her concern by telling him he can't do it alone.
she has made herself grogu's step mom offering encouragement and protection for him.
Mando better start picking out a ring.
This series is going to end with a great wedding on mandalore.

I always thought Bo katan was the most suited for unifying them than Din because of her history. the idea that someone who never lived on Mandalore who doesn't know its history who never fought for Mandalore and never led could reunite them was absurd from the start. that said she was asked to recruit other Mandalorians and unify them because she was destined to do so (she saw the mythosaur real or not) but that doesn't mean she will rule them. why nobody thinks they can be governed by a council formed by people relevant to their cause like Din Bo the Armorer the big guy etc.? things are changing their form of goverment can change too.

It's unfortunate that people have an issue with Bo Katan being a lead character and I think that's because Hollywood especially Disney have been pushing the agenda of Women do it better! Just look at the abomination that was phase 4 of the M-She-U, the difference is Favreau and Filoni do it right! (final of season 2 as an example)
Also I don't know if you caught it but Dave Filoni and Deborah Chan were in the cantina scene with Zeb and Carson and the mystery Mando who freed Gideon has been teased since the beginning of this season. In the opening credits with the heads/masks of heroes in blue and villains in red, the last one is a Mando helmet in red!!!! Could Gideon have ties with the old Imperial Mandos??? Definitely something to think about.

Calling the new republic inept is a bit of a stretch, there are 50 million inhabited planets in the Star Wars galaxy. Even the Empire only ruled over 2 million at the height of its power. Choosing to not spend resources on a non-member world that is far outside it’s jurisdictions is hardly a sign of ineptitude.
