    I bought the Samsung a42 5g screen replacement and the link to the instructions sends me here. luckily there were other videos available. The kit was good though. it came with good quality tools and I am happy with the quality of the screen. It was not nearly as difficult to replace as i thought it would be.

    TLDR: Tips and Tricks, buying from Witrigs and self repair
    I was so scared doing this repair and buying from Witrigs, but I bought this screen on their website and after seeing the many many comments saying it's a scam, I was so stressed. But the item arrived on time and we'll packaged in great condition. I followed this tutorial and now I have my phone back in working order. Many thanks to the person who made this video! P.S. a tip for removing the screen -Heat near the selfie camera and slip a small razor between the screen and the black buffer where the camera is, then work your way around like with the back panel. Also when you do the back panel, don't put the plastic in too far you can damage the black square, I'm not sure what it is but better safe than sorry. One more thing - 50ml of this glue is more than you think and way more than you need, don't buy too much -it's very expensive. Once again many thanks to the person that made this, without you I could have been spending £130+ more

    Thanks for the great video, and the parts and tools!! One thing I would add, when removing the screen, there is a plastic bezel that the screen sits on, and that needs to stay on the phone. It's the strip with the holes for the ear piece in it at the top and it runs all the way around. I accidently got underneath it and broke it into several pieces. But it will probably be fine to glue most of it back on to the phone, and then the screen on to that.

    • @MrWolfTickets
      @MrWolfTickets Před 3 lety

      Success! Also good to note, the b7000 adhesive will come off of the screen and side of phone after it sets up, so don't sweat a little squeeze-out!

  • @MartinDerTolle
    @MartinDerTolle Před 3 lety +2

    I think I messed it up. The screen takes a couple of miliseconds to recognise a touch signal, wich I didn't notice while testing. And also I damaged the cable connecting the fingerprint sensor (because it got stuck to the battery adhesive) so it isn't working anymore either. Additionaly I left the old battery in because the new one showed 1% even though that definetly wasn't the case because it showed that through multiple boot-up cycles and normally the battery would've been dead by then. I'd rather have a working battery status than a new battery that only shows 1%. I have no Idea what is causing the screen thing so I'll hold off on fixing the other problems for now. Help is appreciated.
    Edit: Somehow it was a software problem all along, the fingerprint sensor and display work excellent after the last update. I guess the cable held up against the little plastic pry tool after all (even though it looks a bit wavy now). Good thing I waited a bit before buying a new phone. Now it would make sense to swap the battery, but honestly right now I'm just happy everything is working so Imma wait till the battery actually needs to be swapped.
    Edit 2: Wait nevermind, it's only the screen that's working again. I can set up a fingerprint now, but it doesn't recognize my finger when I try to unlock my phone. I might replace the cable that I probably damaged, but I'd rather not for now.
    -Edit- Update 3: Actually the fingerprint sensor did work, however with a fairly low success rate. I noticed that when I pushed down the bottom left of the screen, the fingerprint worked way better. When I was putting the screen in I was focussing on the top of the screen, since the earpiece plastic cracked and I wanted to make sure it glued in properly, so the bottom was pretty loose. So I took the screen off again and really made sure to remove all the glue I could and tried putting it in properly. I also put a little too much stress on the old battery in the process, because I hadn't put the pull tab back in and the battery rebonded with the sticky pads way too well, so I replaced it with the one I wanted to put in anyways. The fingerprint sensor works pretty much like new after this, even though the display is still not seated perfectly. Right now I'm waiting for the battery to charge but I don't know if it'll be better than the old one, since it seems to have either been on 1% the whole time it was stored, wich puts a lot of stress on the battery, since the optimal charge would be around 50%, or the status is not acurate, wich is probably unlikely, as it is going up in percentage right now. Also it's worth mentioning that the software bug I encountered was probably because I forgot to shut the phone down after testing the screen and removing the battery again. Didn't encounter the bug this time, since I payed more attention and I didn't need to test the screen. The screen is good now and there were no hardware faults on it the whole time so you should be safe buying it. As long as you don't do any mistake during the repair. I'll do an update on the battery if I remember to.

    • @bazilio33
      @bazilio33 Před 3 lety +2

      First - heat the part of the screen where you start, second - use isopropyl alcohol 99% to dissolve glue between glass and frame, drip it onto the surface of the razor, and then plastic card, when you start to see black glue coming out with a blade and then with a plastic card - you are on the right way=)
