    I'm planning to catch my first Jewfish on soft plastics by the end of the year, any chance you can do a Jewie kit, would appreciate the help.

      Hey Jackson, good call. We may have to do a couple of bass ones... one for the creeks and skinny water, and another for the deep water impoundment bass. Cheers, Justin

      Hey Damien, that is setting us a challenge right there! Definitely not the most commonly targeted or easily caught species on soft plastics. I have had some success at times when they are in an angry mood, fishing 2.5" Slim SwimZ in Pink Glow and 2" GrubZ and 2.5" GrubZ in natural colours on light jigheads, however it has been more by-catch than targeted. Cheers, Justin

    Awesome vid mate. Do you reckon if you could do a video about what gear to use for mangrove jack.

    • @tackletacticstv7687
      @tackletacticstv7687  Před 5 lety +2

      Hey Richard, in terms of rods, reels, lines and leaders, it varies a bit based on the environment you are fishing and the other species that may be encountered. Braided lines commonly run from 20-30lb on baitcast gear, sometimes lighter on spin gear, with a leader of around 20lb-40lb, with the guys in barra country often stepping up again to avoid barra rubbing them off. Our team have been catching plenty of jacks on the Okuma Cerros baitcast reel and 6' or 6'6" MH 3-6kg and H 5-8kg baitcast rods. When it comes to spin gear it's commonly a 7' M 3-6kg rod or a step up in nasty structure and when there's a chance of encountering a big barra. The Cerros rods have again been getting plenty of use, with a 30 Epixor XT, Inspira or Helios SX reel. Hope this is a bit of a starting point for you. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin
