      @@adictiveadictive It goes inside, on the bottom of the platter. It provides better stability for your platter,wich creates less wobble on the platter my friend. So while practicing, or performing your scratches, & mixing, you'll have absolute stability & control with your OMNI platter. Its not absolutely needed for this model, where its built great already, honestly. But,if your like me, & want the best out of your turntable, & scratches, then this will only make this set up 100 times better!!... Ive been goin thru Jessie Dean Design since I started with the portable scene. And there gear & shop is off the chain,& their awesome people!!.... I fully modded out my Reloop Spin portable turntable thru Jessie Dean Design, & my Reloop Spin portable turntable is amazing, cuts like butta.... I would definitely go with this mod, if your trying to bring out the best from you, & your OMNI!... They know alot about what they're doin, & with portablism, & the whole Skratch DJ scene, & DJ scene. Definitely check it out man,for sure, I ordered one myself,hope I was able to help you out man.........🔥💯👍🙏🐺

    Hey Jesse, just a heads up. The Puck It does not work with the OMNI rev.2. I've just received my OMNI today, tried to install the Puck It, but due to there now being a small Philips screw sticking out of the base of the platter mechanism. The screw means that the large hole in the centre of the Puck It doesn't fit.
    Perhaps if you have a small enough screw driver, you can remove the platter screw, install the Puck It, and then re-install the screw. I might give it a shot...
    **Update**
    09/02/21
    So, I can confirm, the Puck It will not fit on the Omni rev.2 I don't believe I articulated myself well in my initial comment, so I'll try again. The Omni rev.2 has a "shaft coupler" with a small protruding Philips head screw installed underneath the base of the platter. Without the shaft coupler installed, it would mean that if you were to turn the OMNI upside down, the platter would fall right off. It's not like the PT01 where you can simply remove the "E clip" from the top of the spindle and remove the platter. the shaft coupler obstructs the Puck It from being installed. So, the Puck It can only be install on a Omni rev.1. There's is one last thing I'll attempt to do to get the Puck It installed on the OMNI rev.2, switching the EOM shaft coupler for another that does not have a screw potruding out of the side. This should do the job. www.amazon.co.uk/sourcing-map-Coupling-L22xD14-Connector/dp/B07PB99MPJ/ref=sr_1_8?crid=34DXHYSVAGLL5&dchild=1&keywords=shaft+coupler+6mm&qid=1612860013&sprefix=shaft+coup%2Caps%2C138&sr=8-8
    I'll report my findings tomorrow.
    Just to clarify, the OMNI's tonearm and platter construction is superior to the PT01. The Omni has several bearings installed not only on the platter, but the tonearm too, unlike the PT01.

      Is the Puck it! even necessary on the later version? Any upgrades made by Headache Sound that defeats the purpose of it? Thanks for this info, as I almost purchased one! Do you know if the Infinity Platter works on the newer Omni?

    • @Dubb1000
      @Dubb1000 Před 3 lety +2

      @@adictiveadictive I would say that the OMNI rev.2 doesn't need the Puck It as the shaft collar they installed underneath the platter which is attached to the spindle does exactly the same thing as the Puck It. The only difference is that the Puck It covers a far greater diameter than the shaft collar does, therefore supporting more of the platter than the shaft collar does.
      The only way I can describe it is, imagine a one legged table, with the leg coming from the centre. The platter obviously being the table, and the leg is the spindle with the shaft collar installed which runs all the way down to the base of the turntable case. The case has an insert for the spindle/shaft collar go in before you can successfully screw it back on. I can't speak for the Reloop Spin, but, this platter mechanism on the OMNI is pretty incredible. As mentioned in my previous comment, the OMNI has bearings on all spinning parts (tonearm included), even the spindle/shaft collar insert attached to the base/bottom case has bearings.
      I haven't tried to install the Infinity Platter on my OMNI, although, I might try it tonight. I'm thinking the width of the spindle will cause the installation to fail though.
      I'm actually close to installing the Jesse Dean tonearm on the OMNI, I'm literally waiting for Amazon to deliver two parts I need (times 2 6mm(bore) x14mm (outer Diameter)x 5mm bearings and one 6mm(bore) x 12mm(Outer Diameter) shaft collar). That's literally all you need to install the JD tonearm on the OMNI. When I complete this installation, I plan on installing the Bihari QRM tonearm which has a highly convenient sme headshell mount. This installation can be done with the same parts I'm using to install the JD tonearm. I'll return to update you on the results, and see if I can upload some pics too.

      @@Dubb1000 hi why would you want to change the tonearm? i thought the omni was as good as it is, or are there more mods that are best to do? \\\\\\\i also want to play expensive vinyl is the ortofon vnl needle the best you wrote aout it in another post.

      @@ParallelBarrel If I'm to be honest I wouldn't recommend replacing swapping out the shaft collar to in stall the Puck It anymore, the Omni rev.2's construction negates the need for the Puck It. Also, when I took off the shaft collar on the Omni, it had a unique spindle where the screw of the shaft collar would sit, this means finding the correct shaft collar to swap out the original becomes 10x more trickier.
      Bottomline is, the Omni rev.2's platter stability support makes the Puck It unnecessary, but, it you have the Omni rev.1 as shown in this video, you should definitely grab the Puck It if you're concerned about potential platter stability issues.
      The info out on this turntable is so bad that I created an instagram page to help folks with info on it, and how to mod it. The page/account is called omniturntablemodz. I will cover the platter stability confusion as soon as. It seems like there's a lack of communication between Jesse Dean and Headache Sounds, as most don't now that the Puck It can't be installed on the Omni rev.2
