mharris1270 70's and 80s era Wrastlin was great, but it would bomb on TV today...and if we want all of it to get better you have to compete on TV. Also, if you are generating good regional live shows, but lack the punch on TV to make the capital value of the promotion bigger, WWE will just destroy your promotion. That is why the other companies operate the way they do, without a TV market share they can't generate enough capital to keep the WWE legal steamroller on the trailer. Basically, the other promotions make just enough money that the WWE can't submit them in the courts...a small live promotion that starts to get popular will get swallowed up or offered more money than they could refuse...that is how the original WWF was built. Plus, Corny and JR would just be wasted if they weren't doing TV spots. The attitude era was pretty awesome, except when they went a little too far. Just need a few small stables of guys and stop trying to be a PG soap opera.

Shelton with a steady development would of made a good champion in early 2006. 2005 was a terrible year for him, he got less over as a babyface as the year went on, and he lost the IC to Carlito signifying Carlito as the new young stud. A correct mid-year heel turn and build to him vs Edge or Cena in early 2006 would have worked if he was booked strong, and his promos were short and to the point, and he would probably still be there today.

Everything he's saying is true. This is why people who were fans of Lesnar back in 2002-04, myself included, can't stand him now. He had everything, including legions of fans, and walked away. But did it in a very disrespectful manner. It hurt a lot of wrestling fans. And the sad thing is, he hasn't changed. He's jumped ship so many times. When he was dominating, and then when he had a legit challenge to prove he wasn't invincible, he'd walk away. Granted these guys and gals take beatings. But either you stick it out through the pain and stay loyal, or you walk away and don't come back. And if you do come back, don't try and act like you don't have a past with a company. This is also why SO many people were beyond pissed it was Lesnar who beat Taker. Not that he lost, but who defeated him.

+John Mathews I really feel it was a bad move on Vince's and Taker's part. You'd think if Taker was giving up the streak, it would've been to "one of the boys" or someone who's set in WWE to catch that heat to build the ultimate heel or something. Granted, he should've never dropped the streak in the first place. But he handed it to an outsider if you think about it. Doesn't care about the industry, doesn't care about the locker room or the history. At that point, the streak was bigger than the WWE title. Such a waste.

If they didn't screw up Wyatt so much, that could've been his spot. Just match his "powers" and all that to rival 'Taker's and it would've been great. The torch would've been passed having Wyatt fill "the Undertaker roll" on the roster. That's one of the serious flaws WWE has these days, they don't protect people anymore. If they protected Wyatt, that could've set him up for life as "the guy who ended 'Taker". In kayfabe land with all the "powers" and shit, they could've played it up as something even his brother Kane couldn't pull off after all these years and Wyatt was the only one.

And again that is the guy they decided to put over Taker at WrestleMania? Drives me crazy. What they should have done is Taker win by DQ with Lesnar betting the hell out him with a chair or something after not being able to pin Taker with F5s and then "break" Taker's arm with the kimura lock. Lesnar would keep his heat by having Heyman cme out and say we didn't break the streak, but Lesnar broke the man. He broke the phenom, he broke the Undertaker.
Of course if someone was smart you could take aspects of this interview and turn it into a good promo. The way you beat Lesnar is how you beat any bully. You stand up to him. You keep fighting, because it's the same for him as it is for all bullies once they realize they can't put you down they will quit. Throughout his careers Lesnar has proved this. Life on the road 300 days a year is too tough and he quits after WrestleMania 20. He tries his hand at football and he gets cut from a team, does he try somewhere else with another team? No he quits. He tries MMA and he wins a few fights, but as soon he comes up against fighters that are as big as him, as strong as him and are better fighters he quits. Now with nowhere else to go he comes back to the WWE with a contract that keeps him off the road. He gets to go home, rest and come back when he wants to. I (insert whatever wrestler you want) am on the road 300 days a year and am happy to do it, because I love this business. Lesnar I'm not going to back up, I'm not going to back off. I'm going to keep fighting until you quit and this time you will not come back.

It seems everyone is forgetting about the one man that ran over Lesnar like a steamroller ever time he stepped into the ring with him except once......and that was ten years after the first time they wrestled! The Man!......GOLDBERG!

Brock Lesnar needs to either defend the WWE title, or be stripped of the title. It's supposed to be defended at least once every 30 days.

Shelton couldn't cut a promo. 🤷🏻 If he could have, he would of got the push. They should of put him in DX or something to help get him over. Or, if Paul would of spoke for him too. Or a Jimmy Cornette. They didn't help him at all

Kurt Angle kicked Brock's ass in a shoot match even though Brock outweighed Kurt by about 50 lbs at the time.

Max T If by "kicked ass" you mean "got one takedown after 10 minutes of jockeying"

+Max T No, they wrestled since Kurt was a Olympic Gold medalist and Brock was NCAA champ. Kurt won. Ain't nobody beating Kurt in a wrestling shoot.

I couldn't stop laughing at this story, goes to show how stiff Brock is in the ring. Even in UFC he was stiff to work with, however, he came back - got in the match with Cena, then Triple H, then stupid-decision leading to him beating Undertaker at Wrestlemania this year, then winning the World Title at Summerslam and then not wrestling until Royal Rumble.

Hell, I remember a video in which a wrestler (I want to say Perry Saturn, but I am not 100% sure) was asked a question about who would win in a fight between Haku, the Barbarian, Saturn and a couple of other tough guys. Saturn explained that Barbarian would SURVIVE the fight, but Haku would kill everyone and there is nothing that no one could do about it.
There's a story on him taking on five guys outside of a bar, being pepper sprayed, pausing, breathing in the spray like some kind of extra-strength Sudafed, and just continuing to wail on the poor dumbasses.
Also, he bit a guy's nose off and spat it back in his face.
