if you have not heard this sound live you might think that the recording is distorted. It isn't. The women produce a certain reedy powerful sound that you have to hear live to believe, there's nothing quite like the sound of a samoan choir

I’m a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but that does not stop me from loving these old EFKS vi’igas! I just wish the EFKS churches today still sung the vi’igas like this without the beats and piano! EFKS was the first church on the island of SAMOA!

Same here, I’m LDS too. I love our own hymns, but I love efks hymns too, not only because we sang them in school back in the day every morning to start the day, but also because they are sung in true Samoan style.

I love these songs. As a kid i would closed my eyes n just fell asleep during church as they were sootging. Next minute somewhere in my sleep i felt a little whipped on my shoulder and it was one of the sunday school teacher that kept an eye on us to behave. Those were my memories lustening to these beautiful songs and especially the words..😊. You are a Samoa from moment you in your mummys tummy, then entered this world, your school, family n church and some of us dont continue with church but you never forget who you are, where you from whereever you are until you leave this world you are a Samoa🇼🇸❤

LMS now called EFKS was indeed the first church in Samoa. That's why Efks is heavily influenced by the Gospel also tradition. These hymns are gold, I was raised AOG, but prefer Efks or Mekokisi

Efks was the first church in samoa it was called back then LMS (London Mission Society) the first Christian settlers to samoa was in 1830 Savai'i in the village of sapapali'i it was John Williams who brought the "talalelei" to samoa. I'm pretty sure I'm right on that one but correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers 😊
