This is why my fav char in MVC2 is Strider Doom, but that Iron Man was entirely something else. Props to Jappy for winning againts the best MSP in Philippines.
Level 1 settings levels the playing field to include a little bit of variation between the characters selected, however it changes the game from being able to reset and instakill with a few rotations into a more long winded type of playing, touch of death combos are not as efficient at killing since the damage relies on long combos instead of damage scales. Sentinel is nearly useless in level 1 setting because most of his damage comes from the heavy damage that comes from his hits and fastfly combos, sentinel does not have a self reliant infinite or semi to rack up damage or constant chip lockdown like spiral, doom or strider. The match goes to whoever has the best consistent way of landing continuous hits since resets don't do shit in level 1 setting. Cable still a beast in level 1 settings tho, magneto not so much unless you have mastered the corner HG tempest and people don't mash to get out, storm's killing potential goes down since her resets don't do a fraction of the damage on damage 1.
Very fun match and fun commentary! My favorite lines were: "That was a hard read.. like war and peace!" and "This doctor aint doin shit cause he didnt go to college" lol. More mvc2 in the future please and tekken tag 1 and 2 if possible. Thanks!
It does but there a lot of counters for it=} doom isnt as dominating as he seems to be. See more of the mvc2 1.5 and ul discover more entertaining fights and exoerience.
@@GerardoVillarreal1101 Generally chip is 1 point of damage per thing. You can't have less than one point. So one rep of the strider trap will do roughly the same amount of damage in setting 1 and default setting. Long infinites are similar (but less so because of the hits before buffering). But the Storm Sentinel, America's Favorite combo will do MUCH less damage on 1. 1 completely changes the balance of the game. Plus on a personal note, I find it boring when most matches end in time out.

Im om the losers bracket bro. This is a double elimination format. I already had one loss so it only takes 1 set for jr to win the champ. If he won the first set, hes already the champ. Since i won, we went on a deciding set. Hope this clarifies ur question. Thanks.
Unforntunately none in the Philippines. Kinda sad, I hate this settings but there is nothing I can do everwhere I go in the Philippines is level 1 damage. The reason why we have low damage is they want a longer game which really sucks. Last time I played with normal damage is 2006. Damn!
We are having default damage settings on Rev Major this September. Longer games is not the only reason why Phil settings is on level 1. As you can see, there are so many more possibilities yet explored. Some of the great combos cant be executed in default. Its just a matter of preference. Just like what fchamp said, consider this as mvc2 1.5:)

It could give advantage but if it also chips less, then give more room for holding on to chip tiull meter runs out.
