They played the role that The Film company intended. Use A grade black talent for a cut rate price to get a risky proposition off the ground. Once it proved fruitful they cut the Wayans out and replaced them with the usual suspects. The same exact thing that the WB did with their sitcom when the network launched in the 90's
True and the, then new, channel Fox did that with Living Color back in the late 80's, had a whole heap of black talent, once the channel was well enough established it dropped its black content like a hot potato!
Leslie Neilsen being shown with a bunch of cash grab movies bothered me. He came with the spoofs waaaaaaaay before the wave.
Yeah, I felt that even though 3 and 4 weren't as good, his acting alone made them better.

I love Scary 1& 2 so much because it had that rated R quality to it. Once it went to PG-13 in Scary movie 3, I left. Didn't see 4 or 5 because of that.

@@arieltaylor6070 It was a battle between Keenon Ivory & Fox in what would be considered over the line and that reached a huge point when In Living Color does a Super Bowl Halftime episode in which it included a Men on skit that basically the joke in why Carl Lewis runs that fast is that he is running away from who he was (closet gay)
I didn’t like Keenan- until a little older, now I appreciate him- he’s a comedy genius.

I bought "Scary Movie 3" on DVD in 2004. I made it 15 minutes, turned it off, and took the DVD back for a refund. I haven't watched any of the movies since.

And you lack comprehension. They created nothing, because what they did had already been done before. And they didn't pave the way for anyone, they just had a few people try to copy a movie that did well. Hollywood always tries to latch onto an idea that's successful. Like they've been doing with all the comic book movies & shows.
It doesn't mean the movies are bad cause they aren't, but they aren't some amazingly original genre defining films.
