There are lots of little differences, but here are the biggest differences I found and that you need to know when shopping:
    1. COLOR CHANGES: Blue Velvet, Nightfall Gray, Arctic Blue, & Pepperdust have all gone away. They are replaced on the 2019's with Pacific Blue, Northsky Blue, & Shadow Gray.
    2. NO MORE REDLINE EDITION. It has been replaced with a NEW RS trim level! Basic package contents are: black bowties, spoiler, polished exhaust tips, dual exhaust, blacked out grille, and 18" rims.
    3. NEW front fascia, tail lamp, and exhaust designs
    4. STANDARD FEATURE CHANGES: 8" MyLink radio on all trims with Infotainment System 3, Keyless access on front doors only, & CVT transmission replaces the 6-speed automatic.
    5. NEW PREMIER STANDARD FEATURES: LED headlamps, HD rear camera, Heated rear seats, 8" Driver information center, & integrated turn signals standard on premier only.
    6. NEW LT STANDARD FEATURES: Dual climate control, remote start, heated front seats, & LED tail lamps.

So yesterday I bought a 2019 Malibu premium. not my first choice, but 0 down with a 3,000 rebate they tinted the windows for me. I have have an appointment with the body shop to add some other upgrades, but hell. 300.00 a month with a horrible credit score.i think I did good.I think in a couple of weeks its gonna be great.. the remote start is pretty cool..

Just purchased a 2018! Its a decent little car. My 2012 was a great car that still drove well, like new with 186,000 + plus. Hadn't ever been in the shop, period. Hubs changed oil on regular basis, changed our light head lights which could be an issue at times. Also was able to resolve "late in life", infrequent check engine lights issues with better gas, injection stuff?😂 and pratical troubleshooting. I hope, pray this 2018 can live up to my nice lil 2012.

I realize this is probably a little late but I bought the 2019 Chevy Malibu LT in July 2019; got the North Sky Blue Metallic color which I really love. Got compliments on the color from my co-workers as they liked it too. :) Something I did not know at the time was there are different add-on packages you can get with the LT. For example I do not have the 110 volt plug on the back of the center console. Nor do I have that blind spot thingy that lights up on the side mirrors if someone is in my blind spot but a small fish eye mirror on both side mirrors covers that deficiency quite well. I don't have the back up sensors that beep if you get too close to something; same for the front. As I said, those are available with different add-on packages. I was hoping for the mirror turn signals so I was kinda disappointed not getting those. However, overall I am quite pleased with the car. As a side note -- in October 2020 I moved from Everett WA to the DFW area and the four day 2100+ mile drive down was very comfortable.

Had multiple Chevy’s in the family... two of which being a 2005 Tahoe (transmission failure at 90k miles... supposed common problem) transmission and infotainment problems on my 2014 Malibu since the 20k mike range... ridiculous. CVT on the new Malibu’s and Cruze’s is a joke, they’re being more cheaply made by the year looking like base model fleet vehicles. I’m also not happy with GM closing down factories. I’ll gladly wipe my hands of GM, They did it to themselves. On a lighter note, great video and thanks for the comparison.

As the grade got steeper, the engine speed increased and kept the speed exactly where I wanted. Good power. Good economy if you keep your foot out of the turbo. The CVT drives like a 7 speed - feels like it is shifting. Manual control is available for going downhill, although it did pretty good without manually "down shifting".

Hey Shan, did you lease or purchase your Malibu? There are lease swap companies where someone else buys out your lease and takes over the remaining payments. I'm not familiar with these programs on a personal level, but I know a few people who have used one and had good experiences. If you purchased it, trading in or selling out-right are about the only options to get out now. If you got one with the 1.5L engine, I recommend testing out the 2.0L it definitely has more pep to it! Also, if you didn't lease, you have the option of upgrading things under the hood and with the speakers (be careful not to void the warranty though).

If you are going to lease, you'll have to go with a 2019.

If you don't have any car loans on your credit history, most lenders will require a co-signer or significant money down. That said, I've still had a few people with no car credit that I've been able to help get a car on their own. Everyone's situation is different and a dealership finance manager will need to have the big picture to tell you anything definitively (credit pull, vehicle/vehicles you're considering, income, debt, down payment, etc.). Not sure if that's what you're looking for, you're always welcome to reach me here at 440-988-4444 :)

And still no HID/ LED headlights for LT?! Those halogen headlights are terribly dim, especially on a rainy night. The "fog lights" are a joke and it's only there for the aesthetics, but the same can be said about most modern cars these days.
I thought that Chevy would at least put HID in the LT of the 2019 Malibu. That would have been wise from Chevy, so no.
