Anything that can't ve simply done by AI, and would need a human intervention and conscious decision making, I would not regard as a coolie work. It's a significant work.
There is a lot of judgement in software industry, where the more one is working on lower level, ie. close to hardware, the more sense superiority they'll have.
But I think every role is important. Doesn't matter on which layer you work at.
Of course there are people that just
import libraries and use templates, and just build a website but if you are a proper front end engineer than your job is significant too.

Bhaiya, people respect front-end engineers if you were writing a compiler front-end. React, typescript and node based websites toh aaj kal hamare school mein sikhate hain. bache bhi izzat nahi karte. hamare school mein frontend developers ko software coolie bolte hain. Bahut bura lagta hai mujhe.
