- You asked for it and you got it! A full walkthrough of Nordhavn’s very first N51 in two parts…….enjoy the fruits of four years of design, build and launch. This is a wonderful vessel we hope you enjoy seeing every detail of her. Join us on our adventure as we voyage in Awanui NZ back to New Zealand from Istanbul, Turkey. #adventure #boat #cruise #nordhavn #nz #sailing #yacht
A beautiful little ship. Love the hull colour and teak capping. Amazing vessel - she will carry you safely to the ends of the earth. Bon voyage.
Thanks so much, yes very pleased with her
Most popular man in the Nordhavn community right now😀. Great job!! Many of us have been waiting to see this here in the states. This could be the perfect boat for so many.
I totally agree. Once we validate the fuel flow I think the orders will flood in.prospective owners should not worry about the time required to build as I have watched their processes very carefully and the N41 line is pretty efficient now. They are getting better and better. Hull No 3 about to move into our slot with deck going on top over next couple of weeks which is where we were at 7 months ago. I suspect at the very least to see a month come off build time compared to ours so possible September launch. Hull four is progressing and five about to come out of the mould.
Your enthusiasm is contagious (What a Beautiful Yacht)
Thanks so much….it was always a dream and now about to be a reality. Nordhavn are an amazing company to deal with. Great sense of family
Bloody awesome!! Cracks me up when he did the horn!
Unless you were Renee….I was not popular
Been a fan of Nordhavn for a long time, best looking boat they have made so far and about the perfect size. Congratulations.
Thanks so much
Wonderful little ship. You looks really happy !
Yip we are

The team at Nordhavn should be very proud . . .
Looking gorward to the next one . .il save my questions till then . . Till the next time .
Bye from NZ 👍🇳🇿🍻 for Renee💐
Bring the questions on I love them.
She’s looking good! Can‘t wait for part 2!! 😁
Today!!
The ship turned out really nice even though he ordered it with few accessories. But I still want to get rid of one thing urgently, the owner's cabin is in the middle of the ship and the VIP cabin is not at the front, as he says here, the other way around. That's why the owner's cabin is a little larger, older people can go to bed more easily, the shower is easier to reach. I hope he and his wife will be happy on the ship and enjoy the owner's cabin in the middle of the ship!!!
Either is great and totally agree underway the mid cabin perfect. Luckily I can sleep anywhere
Yir boat is braw,God bless her and all who sail on her.
Thank you
What a thorough walkthrough. You even took out the shower head and tried it for us. Never saw someone did it before.
Nordhavn might not need to do a walkthrough by themselves or they just need to do a simple one.
You've done a great job.
Thanks so much…I did wonder if it went on a tad
Lovely boat , wish good times with her to Awenui Family❤❤❤
Thank you so much
I really Like the Back window in the aft section! Thats Cool!
It is yes. I should have mentioned the windows as they are all so big and sit beautifully proportionately on the boat
Laughed from 30:24 all the way to 31:13. No apologies to Renée. Just get on with it. Ha ha. Hysterical.
Mmmm…I cringed. Funny how you perceive yourself in a video. I felt I could have been much nicer to her she was great.
Beautiful boat. Making friends in the marina with that horn!😅
Probably not friends…could not resist but will in the future
I can’t believe I gotta wait to see the interior
Sorry we thought 1hr 10min just a tad too long for one viewing….she is ready to go.
Awesome video guys
Thank you, next one out today
The excitement builds.😊
Yip it does…let’s not hope too much!
well done looks fantastic ...great camera work too
Yip Renee does good work and so supportive of my strange ways
First time I watched, living my dream. Thought you were Aussie till you said deck. Awesome little ship mate.
Glad you enjoyed it
Congratulations it’s just awesome
Thank you
Absolutely awesome boat, congrats from Auckland !
Thanks so much…she is
Fantastic Ship!!! Congrats. Greetings from Zurich Switzerland.
Aah a land locked country eager bootie…welcome!
Lovely
Thank you
Beautiful Mark. Great video. Looking fantastic. I'm very impressed with the solid build quality.
Indeed Hugo…very solid. Hopefully head off tonight
Great walk through mate, and excellent filming by your number one camera girl, well done, thanks for sharing. I only have 3 words, “beautiful little ship”. I wish you the very best of luck with her on all your future adventures.
Thanks so much and yip she is a gem!
Gongratulations from Holland!
I also follow m/v Freedom and Mermaid Monster, those are wunderful ships and now the modern version N51, top boat!
At 13:55, that is the venting of the fueltank (Vetus is a Dutch company).
Have safe trips and enjoy life!!
Thanks so much…learning all the time
Great stuff Mark
Hey Bazza great to hear from you. Hope you enjoying semi retirement and not working too hard still!
Great video and walk through. I assume there’s a way to fill all fuel tanks from the same fill through valves in the engine room? Really looking forward to the full interior review and following your adventures. I’m hoping to retire at 62…you’re an inspiration! Fair winds.
Yip you can. Perfect age. Go for it
Gongrats with your beautiful boat, The vetus thing is probably your dieseltank vent.
Yip you are onto it
Great walkthrough videos. Very thorough. Hope you enjoy the new boat. Thank you.
Hey no worries thanks for the feedback
Fabulous boat but in urgent need of a BBQ which I’m sure will be on the list
Yip…will get in Greece
great video
Thanks!
Me and my wife and been looking at Nordhavn's for about 10 years. 10 years older now? Want to pay cash but do not really want the 40ft range as many go for because of price. Back and forth between the 50's and 40's. Docking etc... It would be permanent living. Also going across to Europe is a must want EXCEPT, Family in Florida and we live near to San Diego. Panama Canal etc.. all in the mixing pot. Going up to Washington to stay in the San Juan Islands and Alaska is preferred over Europe. Learning the tides thru southern Alaska and alot of study. We NEVER rush into anything to avoid doing something undesirable .
Well take the risk and book a 51 - amazing boat
Couldn’t wish to be better informed Mark. Errors acceptable at this early stage. Renee did very well too.
Thanks David
Mark, may I suggest that you get a couple of nut drivers in 7mm and 8mm/5-16 to check your hose clamps. They are better that a screwdriver.
Good point
What a beautiful ship. And in usual Kiwi form you call mountains, hills and this beauty a boat- we’d consider it a yacht or ship. Love it! Tell Fi- I can’t message her back😢
Okidoki…thanks…xx
Amazing ship. Just curious, what happened to the electric grill that is supposed to be on the flybridge area? It's there in the original drawings, but not in your video here.
It got deleted. Was an idea but decision was to exclude on N51’s. Would have been a cool feature but carting everything up there would be a pain…better to dish up downstairs and take dinner up. Very very roomy up there.
Beautiful. My new favorite. I have been looking at the 41 but this is stunning. Do you need a first mate? I can sleep in the locker.
Or under the floor!
@@AwanuiNZ I am ready!
Will you make a detail video of the interior?
Out today
When we will get part 2 if the video
Today
😍😍😍👌👌👌
Thank you
Congrats on your new home! The walkabout of the upper deck in this segment was very complete, thank you. It is however a comment you made in the 'trailer' for part 2 (below deck) that I want to address: you are not well versed on mechanical things. It took me a while to decide to write this as it might come across as lecturing but be assured this post is nothing of the sort.
You have an ocean going vessel with all the modern things that go into that. I would strongly suggest that you and your lady spend a lot of time sketching out the liquid management/isolation system(s) as well as becoming very well versed in what all the electrical gismos do and how to isolate and bypass them as required. The lives of you and your crew/passengers may well depend on your ability to act very quickly to any emergency that WILL arise.
Start with a pad of paper and trace out all the piping including all the valves, know where they are if it is black etc. This advice goes to any other owners. A boat in the middle of an ocean is not a car - you can't pull over to the side of the road when you get a flat.
Very nice vessel - have fun with her!
Absolutely…we intend to hug the Mediterranean coast while we type rate ourselves on her intricacies. 5 days with the Captain and Nordhavn sale rep will also help. We are reading and spending lots of time in the engine room.
Forward running light (Nav Light) on the front of the radar arch
Thank you…Inhad a brain fart!
Congratulations, beautiful boat. Why are the hatches not flush to the deck? Is it because of the sea rating?
Thought they were? Maybe camera work gave a different impression. One sits ever so slightly up due to heavy rubber seal used which should drop over time
That is the Forward Light at the bottom of the mast structure
Got it…ta
I have to work 10 more years… Have fun!
Then do it will be worth it.
Need more anchor chain if you going anywhere deep.
Certainly room for it. Will look at that as we head North
Guest cabin..... excuse you!😅
Mmm
2 m cockpit about same size as my tinny!
Oops sorry…bet the fishing is good though
Where are the rod holders, bait-board, tackle locker and tuna tubes?
Give me a bloody chance….no time for fishing yet. They will come, promise.
Do you happen to know the bridge clearance? I couldn’t find the spec anywhere.
No sorry I don’t
One word of caution with the outward opening deck doors. They are prone to being snapped off on tidal fixed dock
How come…more info?
if the door is open and boat rocks due to unwelcomed wake or tide going out with your door open it will hit he dock and break off at the hinges
@@AwanuiNZ
You should consider getting the inflatable fenders.
We did…an example the plastic big round balls €58 ~ inflatable €250. Just waiting to make sure we can afford to run her before we get too many toys. Fenders also provided with the boat so will see how we go for storage.
I feel like the transom door hinges are on the wrong side. Someone will eventually fall overboard from the lack of safe footing.
Yip it has felt a bit that way. It maybe the fixing it open restrictions. Not sure I will ask.
Please, please, please don’t let your power cord go into the water. That can contribute to electrolysis on neighboring boats.
Richard thanks so much I did not know that….I will sort a process to achieve that at marinas
Search light
Aah good point. It’s there
I kind of laughed at your comment about the storage locker on the boat deck that you can fit a few children in there I was just thinking before you said that if you threw a mattress some air conditioning let's club at knob on the door and the TV and there and you got an extra cabut no I would never put a person down in there that would be in humane
Was worried about that comment but being just a tad silly I guess
@@AwanuiNZ Everybody knows you were just joking and you would never put kids up in there and I thought it was hilarious so a little humor goes a long way have an excellent day and enjoy your N-51
@@darploin5071 absolutely will thanks
So you can fit a adult in the locker but the cushions don't fit in any locker... Really?
Yip…just too wide
Try to use a vowel that isn't a "u". LOL FYI? If you talked a little less one video would be sufficient.
Haha I hear you! Um seems to be my favourite word
might want to edit your videos a bit better - why on earth would you leave in "enough room for 3 children" in a locker ?
Just having fun, it’s Kiwi sense of humour.
Lighten up.
