I forgot how simple and full of holes those stories were, but they were geared towards younger kids and somehow made sense at the time. Thanks for the nostalgia.
They were definitely geared to pre-teens and I totally recognize the absurdity of an adult analyzing these stories but it's all for fun. The writers were just having a good time and clearly didn't care about logic or continuity.
