You may know Taylor Tomlinson from her new Netflix special "Quarter Life Crisis" or from her podcast "Self-Helpless," and she's joining Ryan Sickler this week on the HoneyDEW Y'ALL! Taylor and Ryan connect on what it was like to grow up in a messed up family where conversations sound a little different than other people's houses. Sure, you got to party at Ryan's house but that's because there wasn't an adult around to give some structure! Taylor and Ryan trade stories on what it was like losing a parent at a young age and having to go to school afterwards. Also, Taylor tells us about how she called off an engagement RIGHT before she taped her Netflix special, which you can see on Netflix RIGHT NOW: Quarter Life Crisis!

Her subtle comments about family trauma i sense are a lot more to do with being raised by a religious father. It resonates with my father's way of parenting. I feel there is more storytelling to come which may be extremely raw and cathartic for taylor to open up about. I could share some very traumatising childhood experiences that could be made into observational comedy. Taylor is a genius, and her vulnerability and approach are superb. Xx want more material asap.. so relatable xx

Whatever hospice agency Angela had, they seemed to have dropped the ball, but maybe back then there wasn't booklets to give to surviving parent to educate/discuss death with those four kids. If VERY young, share the booklet/info when that child comes to that age of questioning. Wow, tho. 2, 4, 6 and 8. Yikes.

really loved this episode. I lost both parents a few years ago, 2 years apart. One fast, the other slow...Its oddly comforting to hear other people's experiences with it. Especially when you feel like you have no one to talk to, or relate to with it. No one wants to talk to someone about their dead parents if they really dont know how to relate. Which is obviously very understandable.
    MUCH LOVE
