“Standing on the hill in my mountain of dreams, telling myself that it’s not as hard, hard, hard as it seems…”
Oh, but we know it can be. Sometimes over and over.
4 musical geniuses in one band. Those are the songs... that remain.
"Oh she sings" - that's for Joni Mitchell.
The mandolin adds the depth to this acoustic version of the song.
I just wrote the same reply. You beat me to the punch. You know your Zep.
Love this song! It was written about California earthquakes and was also inspired by Joni Mitchell. All Zeppelin songs are great. 💚🤙
When Rock was Rock, LED Zeppelin Played a huge Variety of Music. Saw them 3 Times at the Fabulous Forum in the 70’s. Good Times, Great Memories for sure.🎶🎸✌🏽🤙🏽👍🏽😎
Me too!! 🤙❤👍
Shawn & Mel
Jimmy Page on acoustic guitar while John Paul Jones on the Mandolin
Magnificent!Their live performances are unequalled!
Sometimes.
@@richardeast3328 When others at their best and Zep had a slighly 'off' day then some exceptional artists would have come close!
Its a shame they didn't put more camera time on John Paul Jones playing the mandolin in this song
Mel & Shawn, "Going To California", is my 6th favorite Zeppelin tune. When one considers the supreme quality and depth of the band's catalog, that is exceptionally high praise for the song.
It’s time to light up to zeppelin it’s a tradition 😊
Nice to see that some traditions carry on.
As a relative newbie to acoustic guitar Jimmy's performance is just stunning. Robert's vocals are...well.. Robert's. The lyrics and arrangement incredible.
JPJ on that mandolin too!
Of course, this was in our essential playlist on the cassette in our car on our first cross-country trip to California back in the early '80s.
I'm so glad you found this one! One of my favorites! It showcases Robert Plant's voice, Jimmy Page on acoustic guitar and John Paul Jones on mandolin. Love it!
I had this play at my wedding reception and everyone loved it in 2005. My husband and I also had Coyote Joni Mitchell old souls in our 30's then
John Paul added a nice balance in this performance.
The Voice 👏👏👏👏
it was a dream of the heart 😌
JPJ on that mandolin!
Hi Julie! I wish there were some more shots of him. I think he got like 10 seconds of screen-time in this video. lol He deserves more. Not as much as the other two, I get it. But more than this, for sure.
@Cosmo-Kramer agreed...he has genius level talent!
@@juliemanarin4127 Yup, the unsung hero of Led Zeppelin.
He was the ace in the hole,I'm a page freak but Zeppelin is nothing without John Paul.😀🤘
I’ve seen Lead Singer, Robert Plant 4 times he still sings Going to California at his concerts and he still sounds quite Amazing! I love him he is a Genius musician and lyricist! ❤️
*WoW* Thank **YOU Both** for such a most **Beautiful** reaction to such a most **Beautiful** song **LedZeppelinLoveInfinity&Beyond**
Love it!
Thank you for the video.
love you two! Keep on Rockin!
I am a huge Zeppelin fan but especially a huge fan of Jimmy Page (the gorgeous man playing guitar). I could watch him play anything all day long.
Love these acoustic songs by Led....and Robert sitting still so I can gaze upon him🥰
you gotta hear ann wilson sing this-awesome-best song ever
A favorite of mine, thank you for digging this up! This was inspired from Joni Mitchell’s song California. One of very few slower songs. Try another slower song All My Love
This was issued as a B side, almost a throw away song
Don’t forget John Paul Jones on Mandolin; he added bizazze to Jimmy’s guitar playing.
Love this song. Get the LED OUT!
👍❤🤙
A gem of a song! Love love love! 😽💋🎶
California (LA in particular) was an anchor stop for touring bands doing the US or N America. Many musicians owned 2nd homes here and spent time destressing, or during breaks in touring, or just vacationing if they were from other countries or colder climates. Joni Mitchell owned a home in the hills (also the subject a famous song she wrote and recorded with Graham Nash - Crosby Stills & Nash) called "Our House". Many musicians made the treck here in the late 60s early 70s, it was a trendy gathering spot and she was at the height of her popularity. I believe they are referring to this house on the hill when they sing *Meet you up there where the path runs straight and high* LZ adored Joni, and she once said that LZ were the only male stars of the time to be brave enough to admit they listened to her music.

This and "Four Sticks" were the only tracks on this album that weren't pretty big. The "deep cuts" from this album, they often get overlooked when you think about the 4th album and the legendary songs on it.
Happy Easter, Shawn and Mel, Kids. ❤❤💯🤘✌👋
My favorite song by the greatest band ever led zeppelin to ever walk planet earth Allahu akbar God is the greatest ❤️
Have to watch!!!!...
1973 Madison Sq Garden Live -
Stairway to Heaven and Since I've Been Loving You. #masterpieces
The girl who plays guitar and sings is "Joni Mitchell" Robert Plant had a crush on Joni and the song is about Joni.
I was there
I used to have hair like that ..
Not just Jimmy Page on guitar but also John Paul Jones on the mandolin, drummer John Bonham sits this one out

Try "California here I come"by Shocking Blue, you will enjoy 😎 thanks 👍
There's like a three or four song segments of that concert that you should see like that's the way in the Acoustics set the Germans having a couple quadruple Russian vodka shot
I wonder if you realize how many baby boomers are enjoying what you do. I'm 71
Please react to eddie van halen eruption guitar solo. If you live guitar solos, you'll love eddie van halen.
To ALL reaction video folks,...when it comes to Led Zeppelin, ...stick with the studio version!!
Is there a song you guys don't like?
You two are a blast. I want to hang out with you! Do more RUSH!
When I think of California, I think of a place where nightmares are made.
"Standing on a hill in the mountain of dreams, tellin' myself its not as hard as it seems."
Words to live by.
