  • The Great Ocean Road is one of Australia's most iconic coastal drives, offering breathtaking views of the coastline, rugged cliffs, and stunning rock formations. To drive from Melbourne to the Great Ocean Road, follow these directions:
    Start in Melbourne: Begin your journey in Melbourne, the capital city of Victoria, Australia.
    Take the M1: Head west on the M1 (Princes Freeway) from Melbourne. Follow the signs towards Geelong.
    Geelong: Continue on the M1 until you reach Geelong. This is a major city and a good spot to take a break if needed.
    Continue on A1: Once you're past Geelong, the M1 will transition into the A1 (Princes Highway). This road will take you further along the coast.
    Torquay: Continue on the A1 until you reach Torquay, which marks the official starting point of the Great Ocean Road.
    The Great Ocean Road: From Torquay, follow the signs for the Great Ocean Road. This iconic stretch of road winds along the coastline, passing through picturesque towns and offering stunning views.
    Landmarks and Stops: Along the way, you'll come across famous landmarks such as Bells Beach, Split Point Lighthouse, Apollo Bay, the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and more. Take your time to enjoy these stops, as they offer some of the best views and photo opportunities.
    Port Campbell: The Great Ocean Road ends at Port Campbell. This town is a great place to rest, explore, and enjoy some local seafood.
    Return to Melbourne: When you're ready to head back to Melbourne, you can either retrace your route along the Great Ocean Road or take an inland route via the Princes Highway (A1) for a faster return journey.
    Please note that road conditions and travel times can vary, so it's a good idea to check for any updates or closures before you start your journey. Also, plan your accommodations in advance if you're planning to spend the night along the Great Ocean Road. The drive can be done in a day, but many travelers prefer to take their time and enjoy the sights over multiple days.

      Those lights are only ment for heavy traffic. And it went green and no car around so becuse its one car per lane per green he was alowed to go. So he wassn't running the red light.

    I like the kangaroo warning sign at 1:42:01 😊 I also like the 'Consider Following Vehicles' signs to remind you to let others pass. This is terribly needed in the U.S. as no one gives a hoot about anyone else.

      @@chanlovebmx You are meant to however when the traffic is flowing freely like that no one ever stops. There is also a sign there on the left that literally says stop on red signal.

    There is no lane discipline in Australia, like they do in UK? In UK, you keep left until you overtake and move back to left. Here, people are overtaking and undertaking and you are hogging the right hand and middle lane?

    • @Migswan
      @Migswan Před 8 dny

      There's no real strict rule. You can overtake from any lane. The rules aren't really enforced.
