What I love is that they're both talking loudly here, but none of it is aggressive. They're being emotional, but not awful to each other.
I like to think it's because their characters are older in the movie. More maturity, sort of lol
Because they are fighting FOR each other. They both love one another. They are fighting for what they each understand will be the ideal outcome so no one is hurt/harmed. Each one is coming from their respective understanding of what is safe. But, together, they are able to create something neither of them had predicted. That's the power of love and having kind support.

@@evas2615 Alex was talking about getting into politics at the lakehouse and also in bed in Paris about how important it is for him to be in it. Problem is that politics brings a lot of coverage and exposure, and Henry already has enough of that being a royal. So going from the scrutiny of being a prince, to the scrutiny of being with someone in office is a lateral move, and he'd rather go with the relative safety of what he knows than what he doesn't and still feeling trapped.

The way Alex conveyed his feelings to Henry was really touching. They both really managed to make this film come alive.

Love that line. They could’ve easily wrote sth differently like most other romance movies/shows/book/etc do, but they chose communication, so gotta love the authors for this.

This is the prove that Henry fell first but Alex fell harder. This entire scene was so touching, sad, powerful, loving and heartbreaking all at the same time. The need and longing to be together but all the weight of British history on Henry's shoulders, all the emotions in his eyes, all Alex's barriers down, pouring his heart out to him, and Henry holding himself because he can't stop thinking about the consequences... 😭💔 One of the best scenes of this wonderful movie, been watching it almost everyday since it came out and never ceases to amaze me their chemistry ⚡🔥 Nick and Taylor really deserve all the recognition! 🥺👏🏻👏🏻❤️🤍💙

I feel Henry fell hardest n he knew that Alex was in love with him..... but he can't bear to see the love for him in Alex's eyes.... nothing could break Henry than the simple gesture of love from Alex..... Henry knew that he needed to let him go ..... inorder to protect Alex from falling in love with him even more....

This scene are overflowing with emotions, ngl considering that both actors are brilliant, the emotion was there, the message was conveyed very well that it could make you feel how the book made you feel. I love how it's not just about Alex declaring his love for Henry but that he is trying to throw a lifeline to save Henry from a half life of loneliness bound by proporiety because Henry will be forced into two options: a loveless marriage to a woman or a lifetime of bachelorhood and loneliness.
Alex is the knight rescuing his beloved from the tower of his future closed off cold heart. He's saving Henry from himself.

Yes! There is actually a deleted scene that talks about this. Alex talks to Henry about never letting anyone fall in love with him, and Henry replies with a story about himself as a young prince in a castle losing his armor, but the heart was kept locked away in the armor, and the king gave him the armor saying "If you always wear this Armor, nothing will ever happen to you" Which makes this scene TRULY hurt more...
It's the same with The Cornetto deleted scene too where Alex tries to annoy Henry by saying "you are dealing with a professional" then when they are in Paris Henry says to Alex "You are dealing with a professional as their relationship gets deeper"

totally changes the way I perceive love. this entire dialogue in the film and their everlasting passion they have for each other completely alters the way true love is viewed. they tried so hard to work out their differences to be happy, even if it was with or without each other. they just truly wanted to make it work 🥺🥺

The Communication every relationship needs
this moment. This scene just was so emotional on so many levels. You could see Henry's heart just aching and breaking at the same time. Alex feeling lost and lonely without him. Just incredible acting from Taylor and Nichols.
Side note, Lope the director stated they had to break for lunch during this scene. He was worried/concerned they wouldn't be able to get back right into it. But as you can they delivered it and he was very pleased they could carry on without missing a beat.
This scene is INTENSE and when Alex dares Henry to tell him to leave, it's heart=stopping.
And then Henry's tear-stained "Please....dont make me."

I dont think I can ever get over this scene! Not only from this film, but this scene has to be one of my favourite top ten most emotional scenes from any film ever. Both actors did act to their perfection. I literally get goosebumps when Nicholas delivers the ".. I will never trade one prison for another" line or the way Taylor's voice breaks when he says "..I would never leave this room if I didnt think there was any hope of holding on to the happiness that I have found with you"..

this is the scene that makes the movie: everything else is basically fluff but this scene almost pushes it out of comedy into drama. "I can love you and want you, and still not want that life." I pause the movie take half a dozen deep breaths and unpause movie; that line always gets me.

This scene was extremely intense and so beautiful in so many ways made me cry every time. What a beautiful story .I loved the movie and I’ve seen it several times. The actors were superb, and the movie in my opinion was perfectly casted Nicolas Galitzine, and Taylor Zakhar Perez were perfect for the role of Henry and Alex. And I hope this movie influenced its viewers to be yourself never be ashamed of who you were born to be. and there is love out there for everyone you have to truly believe that with all your heart.

Beautifully acted scene by taylor and nicholas, very moving and touching but henry was wrong here, not only did he leave alex hanging with no explanation but then gets upset at him for having the audacity to show up and ask him why, he deserved to know why henry, why you just up and left him with no explanation, he knows alex had fallen in love with him and he also loved him but scared of what that meant for him as a prince and the monarchy but still he could’ve broken things off properly with alex if he felt despite loving each other they couldn’t be together, I mean I’m glad it worked out in the end but henry could’ve handled things better than what he did

I agree, Henry should have talked to Alex openly, but I also think that Alex (also in the book) never really tried to understand ALL of the implications of this on Henry's life and future. I feel like the consequences of making their relationship public are much worse for Henry and will actually change his life completely (of course at the end of the book he ends up liking the idea of a different life but right now it's normal that he can't see that because he has grown up and lived all of his life being told that he belongs to Britain, as if he was a property and not a person). So I also understand why Henry feels like Alex doesn't actually see his point of view and is unable to understand his worries. I'm just happy that they found a way through all of this
I think that's the beauty of stories. Lead characters go through obstacles until they resolve at the end. These obstacles are what make stories magical.

Henry could never say no to Alex, like he begs Alex not to make him say that Alex must leave. Properly breaking things off would have meant that Alex would fight for their relationship and Henry probably could not follow through. I think ghosting was the coping method for Henry to follow through on what his mind thought would be the best thing, without having to (purposefully) break his heart.

It can also be said that Henry knew the game so running away after fooling around with Alex was wrong.
But he wasn't 'fooling around' with Alex; he admitted from the first that he fell in love at first sight, just believed Alex would get bored with him because he (Henry) saw himself as such a messed up person no-one would want to stay with him; and he warned Alex from the first time not to fall in love with him. To know Alex was planning a futue together, not just about to admit to falling in love, made him panic and run, to try and avoid breaking Alex even more.@@ebonylady
