- Setenil de las Bodegas is "CAVE VILLAGE" that will not leave you indifferent.
Located in a Spanish municipality in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. Its urban framework has been declared a Historic Site, whose center is embedded in the gorge formed by the Trejo River as it passes through the city.
ESSENTIAL TO SEE:
1. The popular Calle Cuevas del Sol
Calle Cuevas del Sol is without a doubt the best-known artery to see in Setenil de las Bodegas and the image that we all have in mind of this original town. The main characteristic of this street, as its name indicates, is that its houses are carved into the mountain and receive sunlight for most of the day.
2. Shadow Caves Street
In this street you will also find cave houses where, due to its narrowness, hardly any sunlight reaches. Here you will find food establishments and various artisan pastry shops
3. Andalusia Square
In this street you will find several bank branches, bars and cafes.
Nearby, on Calle Villa, is the tourist office and Town Hall of Setenil de las Bodegas.
4. Calcetas Street- Blacksmith and Soap Shop
They are the most unique where you will find some beautiful cave houses in their path.
5. Hermitage of San Benito
This simple temple was built in was built in the XIV-XV centuries.
It is a simple church, with a square floor plan and eight columns that support the gabled roof.
