Better yet, I wonder how Apple would have portrayed her -- likely how media treated black people pre-1960 (big dumb, but lovable idiot), which is how almost all white people are now portrayed in commercials.
Seriously, count the number of times you see a commerical where a black person makes a mistake and a white person didn't, and vice versa. The answer will be zero. (Unless it is a black male making a mistake in favor of a black female, in which case the female is higher on the victim hierarchy.)

They know their shallow, narcissistic "me me me" customer base. You're talking about people who pay over a thousand bucks for a phone every couple of years, because it has a logo on it. The kind of selfish behaviour depicted in this obnoxious ad is relatable, and therefore appealing and amusing to them.

This commercial glamorizes what is wrong with society. This mom makes her video and wants more important than everyone else at the race, it doesn't matter that she stepped on and pushed everyone else out of the way or ruined their video or pictures, as long as she got what she wanted.

This is one of my favorite commercials. I being in a mother can understand exactly how she wanted to get this important moment in her sons life. The intensity in their eyes showed how serious and determined they were. I love it!😊

Sets a bad example of a parent (of any race etc.) being selfish, teaching the wrong lesson (dare I say Apple setting the wrong example) getting pushy and shoving ... getting in the way of and potentially pushing other parents out of the way ... in a day and age where the news is full of parents acting badly at their kids sporting events (fights and arguments) is this really a good look?
Why couldn't the parent just be running filming on the sidelines filming their child (same song same actors) ... no issue with that. Why did they have to be pushy and shoving other pare rs out of the way?
Great for the character encouraging and supporting their child but this behavior would not be tolerated or amusing in real life ... and Apple should not be encouraging this behavior by parents. I have actually been to games where bad behavior has caused one team to walk off the field and issue a written protest to leagues/Rec. councils.

At all youth sporting events I've been to or coached the sidelines are lined with the younger siblings of those on the field, this arrogant lady would have run all over them, there are so many asshole parents at these events no need to glorify bad behavior, love your kids encourage them but also show them how to conduct themselves in life, shame on Apple for not thinking of the message they are sending...

This commercial makes me sad and angry all at once. It not only shows African Americans in a bad light, but more importantly, represents society in general in an absolutely awful (but unfortunately truthful) light. It isn't cute or funny that this mother is running and crashing into every other parent on the sideline (who, by the way, would probably like to see their own children participating!) in order to record her precious child. It is rude and egocentric, and unfortunately reflects society today. It's all about me. All of the time. I am more important than any of you. The notion that one can do whatever they want, whenever and wherever they want, and screw the rest of you is an awful message to be sending. Thanks for an utterly unappealing ad Apple. I can't help but think you are trying to make up for the lack of diversity on your leadership team by focusing on minorities in your commercials.

I like how in this commercial, it’s a black mom who runs unimpeded, splashing water, bumping people out of the way. Yet in another commercial, it’s a white mom who ends up getting trucked by a black man at the end. That’s no accident, especially for the world’s foremost telecommunications company. Can’t help but to think little things like this subconsciously are gearing us up for a racial war, or at least adding to the tension to keep us arguing and keep our eye off of what’s really happening… and it’s bogus. 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
