    // ABOUT THIS VIDEO
    Back to my woodworking on youtube basics. For this project I took my time, not only with the building, but with the filming as well. As for the piece, it is a mid century modern style hall table made from walnut. Enjoy :)

    This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. czcams.com/users/postUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.

    Really dig this one, man! Love the classic Foureyes feel for sure. It’s interesting how different your Walnut looks compared to my air dried Black Walnut. Mine has a lot more purple tones to it.

      Interesting...The piece I used for the top on this one actually has a grey-ish hue. I really like it, but it's a lot less warm than what I typically get.

    I think the thing I enjoy most about your videos, aside from the really clean and modern pieces you make, has got to be how deliberate everything is. There's a deliberate considered pace to your narrating the videos, there's a very methodical process for all of the shots of the various cuts you make. It's incredibly relaxing to watch.

    Beautiful project. Love this design and the grain on that front piece of walnut is fantastic! I like the way you let the wood speak for itself. No fancy twiddly bits to distract the eye. Keep it up, you inspire me to get into my own projects with a lot more confidence and enthusiasm. Thanks for that.

    Niiiiiiice :D I agree with you on the tables names...ahah in portuguese it's around the same lack of originality. A coffee table, for us, is a table that actually is inside a coffee shop - mesa de café. That one typically in front of the sofas is called mesa de centro - center table. Anyhow, they all end up having the word table or the word's root on the name. For that design of your workpiece, I would call it consola, if it is in the hall, or maybe aparador if it is in the dinning room. Not mesa of something, for this case. x) It doesn't really matter. It does look beautiful and that's what matters.

    • @Foureyes.Furniture
      @Foureyes.Furniture  Před 6 lety +3

      Hey Cris...exactly. A Table by any other name... I guess the guy who named them all was just a real "nuts and bolts" literal person. I actually think "Center Table" is slightly more descriptive than "Coffee Table." I'd be intersted to know how Coffee claimed that one. Seems like it could have just as easily been a Tea Table, or Water Table, or if it was me in Highschool...a Mountain Dew Table :)
