Ok cool I knew about this already . I grow up in a native community in south GA. Hoop dancers were rare in the South but the were into group meetings twice a ya so. The frist dancer was not hoop tho that was something elses. I can't remember it name. The female verses of the frist dance is called fancy sha . Ether way this is amazing glad to see more people are learning about this.
I am much more failary with Grass dancers that really cool too people should look that up. I did not do any of the more complex dances. I was part of the drum cycle my self and as I got older I mean did sacuity work.
My time there end shortly after high school . I still miss it but nothing lasts for ever.

I could appreciate it a whole lot more without the dayglow colors, factory made textiles and dyes. Look at traditional aboriginal material culture and you might see what I mean. It’s so beautiful in its own right.

Jesus and christians are the main reason that these people have lost so much ot their culture and so many of their lives and why so many native americans live in poverty now. Christianity doesn't need to be mentioned here.
