While many across the Midlands honored fallen heroes of 9/11, the University of South Carolina honored the great sacrifice of three heroes who desegregated the school when they enrolled on Sept. 11, 1963. As a prelude to the commemoration, iconic civil rights leader Andrew Young spoke to a packed house Sunday about his reflections and discussed his new book, "The Many Lives of Andrew Young," at the School of Law.
The former U.S. ambassador, congressman, and mayor of Atlanta spoke with Cola Daily and shared his thoughts about the past, present, and future of civil rights.
