  • I spent a few days with this wonderful person, guitarist and luthier, who also happens to be an amazing cook, when I was painting a mandolin for Cirque du Soleil and needed a place in the UK to do so.
Robert and his wife were my gracious hosts, and we took a new guitar that Robert is building to Master Luthier Killy Nonis, to get his feed back, which was in short: 'It is a beauty, I wouldn't do anything on it anymore'. It was December and it rained constantly, the garden became a jungle, the beach was deserted, but beautiful music was played and even the mandolin came out nicely.
    Little Clacton, UK, December 2023.

Lovely film. Looks like the good life -- beautiful countryside and I love that yard and ramshackle shop Robert has. The playing he and Simon do is at a very very high level. Nice to see Killy Nonis, also. Wonderful to hear Robert's story. All the best to you all and thanks for the vid, Irene.

Hey this is great!! I've not met Robert or Killy yet, but we've spoken a bit and I have some of Robert's lovely bridges and Killy's amazing tailpieces on my guitars. Perhaps one day I will own one of Robert's Busatos.
