My pop was a WW2 vet and POW too , alcoholism , no such thing as PTSD back then it was just get on with it. He would piss off and get pissed for weeks and leave his family with little money. It was a love hate relationship with him as well , I was lucky as a child to see him come good. Definitely a role model , but yeah we can only imagine what a war like that would be like and we'll never see it again.

I wonder what helped him sort out his PTSD his trauma, we all know alcohol doesn’t fix anything it only drowns it for a short time

You are a very big man and I mean that. Your mana is strong. Your story might help some young fellas realise that it’s ok not to fit in and it’s ok to make your own way in the world. Phuck the system. It’s designed to make good little robots out of us. I have a similar story, moved around lots and could never fit in and never accepted. Drifted toward gangs, but an angel in the form of an old Rebel said it’s a bad Idea and I went bush instead. Never looked back….I not a hard fella, would’ve been eaten alive in a club. I’m french with African back ground. I’m a bit like you. I never fit in groups and school too. Growing up in French ghetto I never knew where to fit and to be honest I didn’t real care! My dad was a ww2 vet and he was a good man always give me good advance. When he past way I’ve been kicked out of the house by my mum. I end up hanging out with drugs dealers. That was not what I wanted to do so I moved to England in 1998 to get out of this life style. I played rugby and I become a social worker. I was very good because of my past. I live now in NZ I was a social worker for two years here but I had to stop because I refused to be injected. You know when you were talking about your dreams you had maybe it can be related to your past life. Who knows? Peace to you man and take care. Peace

Bro I feel this video how u grew up. Im gunna be honest bro I have autism. I got aspergers I was diagnosed when I was 7. Raised by cook islanders but being half caste maori white scottish. I ended up being put in a kids home cuz they had enough of me then ended up in boarding school. I never joined a gang but was quite violent in school. Loner and outcast. No friends basically. My great grandfather also he was in both world wars he was gassed by germans in Belgium with the mustard gas. He came back violent alcoholic. I feel like that really put a stain on my families tree because many other relatives have bipolar and stuff. I thought about gangs afew times but I think im too antisocial. Ended up detonating a fertiliser bomb in school so get expelled. I think that advice ur papa told u about under the radar. Its always been how I am these days. Good korero bro
