On this video I explained how a Circuit Tester works and I used it to test car fuses. Call it a Test Light if you want.

Thank you so much!! I bought one to try and figure out what's wrong with my car, and didn't even know how to use it. I searched and searched and no one ever explained what the tester should have been connected too. For many who work on cars I am sure it's common knowledge/sense but for someone who knows nothing this was awesome! Thank you!!!!

Some of the circuits in your fuse box have constant power and some of the circuits are "switched" power. Switched power circuits, like your head lights, are energized only when you turn your start switch on. The wiring colors are typically red for constant power circuits and pink for switched power. Generally.

Another very helpful video from Welking Vue. I received a 6/12 volt circuit tester as a Christmas gift. You helped me learn how to use it in the most practical way, which is testing fuses. My son is still driving his 2001 Camry. You helped me change the ATF fluid in the main fluid compartment and the differential compartment. His 2001 Camry has been a great first car for him. Good to see you again, Welking.

Brilliant straight to the point . You should make video of how to use a multimeter specially for people who don’t know how, every other Tutor expects you to know all the Symbols and functions they don’t bother to explain because they assume you must know all that or are just stupid

Light testers have incandescent bulbs or LED‘s ( light emitting diodes ) . It take very low voltage to illuminate an LED . Some LED test lights are polarity sensitive .

That 'wire' is the hood cable release. And that bolt on the plastic tab of the headlight isn't a good ground source. Better to clamp it to the chassis or the negative terminal on the battery.

Hello I am trying to test my fuses. But I have no idea how to use the fuse tester. What do you attach the other end too. You do not show that also what do you acutally touch the point to I could not tell if you were touching the fuse plastic are the side of the fuse. my light is not coming on to any of them that is why I am asking. Does the car have to be on to check fuses and what do I attached the other end of the fuse tester too does it have to be metal? do you touch the pointer to the plastic of the fuse I am a woman and don't make fun at least I am trying to fix my own car radio My radio quit the clock is on but the radio is dead. no light no nothing. I know where the the audio is on my 2009 Sonata I cannot pull out the yellow audio fuses. I pinched the yellow part together but only one side comes out and I cannot get the other side out it is like it is stuck. I am afraid I am gonna break the plastic if I keep trying to pull out the yellow plastic fuse holder. Would a parts place come out and help me you think. ??

Why would I need to test a fuse for headlights when turning the car on and operating the headlights.. I would get my question answered. Don’t need a light-tester to tell me if there is power or a fuse blown to my head-lights, because the head-lights are on being self evident. But it is a good example however for other kinds of fuses which could be tested on the ON position while not having a visible confirmation sign such as a head-lamp.
