- It has been a great while since I made any videos that had clips of my engines running. But now I can put that wait to rest. In this video you will see the layout operating it's daily timetable with Thomas, Percy and Toby. I'm currently working on a timetable that will feature Mavis and Daisy so once that's done I'll see about making another video of it.
Apollogies for the lighting being different in parts. Filming took nearly all day to do and you may also see my shadow appear in parts of the video.
If you have any questions about the video feel free to comment below and I'll do my best to answer them. Enjoy the video
I began building the layout in April 2011 as a reply to a question a friend asked me in one of my videos. It was also built to feature some bits that I didn't feature on my original layout such as Thomas Cousins and the Three Beatles Inn.
Sky Chase Zone and Emerald Hill sound awesome nice touch layout looks alrite to
Well at the moment I'm waiting on Annie and Clarabel's new chassis to arrive in the post. These models are used for the time being. I don't mind the trucks have faces here and there. Maybe somebody on the layout painted them on while I wasn't looking. LOL
WhitehouseFilms will the engines have RWS faces and headlamps?
OK I thought that the layout looked amazing and I admire your craftsmanship on the layout
I always enjoy watching this video, even more after seeing your remade layout.
She was made from a Bachmann model repainted and had the balcony doors moved in slightly to match the original coach.
it's a very good layout, and like I said, I like your Percy. I managed to find one of the Bachmann ones with a smokebox door and repainted it.
Yes, I came across it on your deviantart page. You've done a great job on it. My model of Percy is currently waiting on a replacement boiler. I've made up his cab from scratch and managed to get a spare smoke box and chimney but no boiler. I'll have a scavenge round ebay and see what I can find.
I like your video. I can't wait to see the revised timetable with Mavis and Daisy on the scene!
sonic 2 sound track nice
Very well done. I can't wait to see more of your videos!
A fantastic demonstration my friend, nicely done :)
Really good layout
Really like your layout. Very professional and its cool you added the sonic 2 soundtrack to the video. Keep up the good work.
I LOVE IT
I really like your layout!
OK, will do thanks!
The reverend awdry approves
Great! I'll be sure to check him out,and you to when the Ffarquhar branch line is open to the public! :P
If you check out my 7th workbench video you'll be able to see the model during it's construction stages. It's quite a simple converstion to the bachmann model.
Hi. Thanks for stopping by to check out the video.
very nice, I like your percy model, I'd have thought you'd use your rather spiffing E2 Thomas in the vid though. Excellent layout and a good video of it in action.
The E2 model will make it's appearance when I finish the second version of the timetable. Sorry it didn't appear in this one but I promise it will appear in the next one.
Did you notice how "Ffarquhar" was pronounced in the Thomas & Friends cartoon? The narrator broke the initial "ff" into two syllables!
I didn't give them faces because I wanted them to look more like real trains. I will give them faces for when I'm doing RWS remakes, currently working on making one ATM but I've got other projects that need sorting out.
With the Thomas model, I see you based it from the Bachmann range, but how did you straiten the running board at the front end of the model?
I Love This
Banger soundtrack lol
wish u cud do a series on it more like the rws
Has this been on a recent Railway Modeller. If so I have that issue.
Yes. It appears in the reader's letters section in the May 2018 issue. I had originally planned to do a feature cover of the layout's build but someone had already beaten me to it with their alternative version of the layout.
Hi, I really enjoy your vids. I was wondering how long is the layout? Keep up the great work.
I love this, what scale?
All the music in this video including the Chemical Plant Zone music was done by CZcamsr VernianProcess.
I want to say one thing about the video. Where did you find the amazing chemical plant remix! I adore it!
where did you get the soundtrack
how long did it take you to do this model it is amazing
+Timelord 1912 I began building it in April 2011and it was completed in November 2012, just in time for it's first exhibition. This layout is now retired from exhibiting with the new one, in the make, taking it's place but will be refurbished to have better features and might be part of a new project n the pipeline.
what did u use for henrietta
How long did you make the layout
Love the video and I like the music but it doesn’t seem very fitting. in all honesty though I wish I was this good at model/set making.
I don't get how instrumental sonic 1 and 2 songs go with a model railway
what will you do with the old on I'd love to buy it or something
+Timelord 1912 I'm keeping the old one as a testing layout when trying out new locos or rolling stock.
Could we have another video like this please? maybe with just new footage and same audio?
A new one will be made soon. ATM the New Ffarquhar layout is undergoing some maintenance which will help improve the performance. Will hopefully make a new operation video in the Spring.
Thank you!
one question: where are the faces?
I took the faces off because for this video I wanted to make it as close to Wilbert's original models and how they performed on his original layout. Maybe in the next one with Daisy and Mavis I'll keep the faces on.
I have to wonder why you used the Hornby Annie and Clarabel and not your own customs.
They weren't ready when the video was being made and the Tri-ang ones kept derailing. When I'm making the next timetable video I'll included them.
Okay. I was just wondering because the Hornby ones look kinda sad, especially next to everything else. Any idea what was causing the Tri-Ang ones to derail?
ZeldaTheSwordsman Not sure really. Might have been the small radius curve going into the station. My new ones handle that curve better as they are slightly smaller.
It's also possible the coupling or some other part was snagging. The scale coupling on my own Annie was bent in such a way that the bogie was catching on it; I only recently discovered that was what was causing her to run poorly.
WhitehouseFilms It's generally the wheels on points. I have the same pair and they kept catching on the points due to their wheels being wider in the flanges. So replacing the bogies with newer ones would be the best bet.
Can you send me the drawings for Elsie? I seem to have lost the file
Hi White House do you know cris
Hi do you like my Thomas and friends movies
Best of all you say "Ffarquhar" correctly. Thomas just wedges a schwa bwtween the two Fs as if it's non-Welsh.
Hi
I kinda feel like getting my fingers in go ahead and tell me I dare you
Why didn't you use decent music?
And I would've kept the faces on
I often used Sonic music in my videos because I was a fan of the games. The reason for the faces being removed was that I was going into that stage of learning more of the Reverend's modelling. His original models didn't have faces so I decided not to put them on mine.
