This the CVE-2022-20465 Hack that was just patched in the November 2022 security patch. It affects all pixel phones and might also affect other vendors.
Puk stands for phone unlock key and when u get a new sim card the big card that you pop the tiny micro sim out of and the adapter has numbers printed all around it the puk code for that sim card is printed on the big card so if you purchase a phone at the cell store and they set up the phone for you and give you the bag with the phone box and charger and little instruction book the sim card is usually in the box too minus the little which is in your phone just look at the card inside phone box

No. It's how the sim card's trustness being handled by the device (any device, not only your phone, smartphone, tablet, whatever) The Sim card has root access over the system in order to communicate with the system handlers like Simalliance java app and obviously communicate with the "mobile" band (aka the cellular modem functionallity part of the chip) of your (in this case) phone in order to make use of the AT api and so talk with other cell towers to direct to the other one youre calling, messaging or geolocating

You need to put a sim lock on another phone that is unlocked then put that sim in the locked device follow the steps on the video then you unlock any phone

@@dc8502 False. its not about pixel just they discovered on a pixel phone. its about android mistake. Then it can work almost every android phone. Since the security patch came at the end of November, it may not work anymore, but my previously stolen Huawei phone may not be able to receive updates, so it may have been unlocked this way.

That didn't explain anything, if there was no Sim detected how could you lock it, and where do you find the PUK code?
When you buy a sim card you will get a puk code with it
You need the card where the sim is cut from thats where the PUK is found

You need the puk from your isp, and you HAVE to prove to the isp that you are you. It's only a recovery method for sim pins
