      I think you really have it spot on. It's well produced and I like some of the cool editing you cutting to different shots / angles. Some other folks that do the "sciency" videos go a little too far trying to make it seem light or use dumbed down diagrams or animations that don't make as much sense. I feel like your style is like the science prof that can break down complex info in to a way you can understand and not put you to sleep as opposed to trying to teach first graders with pictures.
      You break it down in a way similar to Zenzo at Tazawa tanks. I do really like the topics that you cover though and appreciate the "science". You also do a good job of pointing out what is actual science versus "hobby" science and make it clear for both how applicable it may be to the individual.
      Thanks again!

Wanna use a plenum slow moving air to move the water up in the column and a sump below with a reactor to catch and turn over water volume. . • @TheWaterBox
      @TheWaterBox  Pƙed rokem

      No concerns, because you can adjust the intensity of the Kessil 360x sun, you should be just fine. You just have to make sure that light covers the tank or at least where the plants will be. Just rememnber, a spot light configuiration light differrent than a strip light config.

    Hello,
    I am currently using the ONF Flatone LED. The settings on this unit allow a percentage of blue to white, and the power rating. Are you familiar with this unit, and if not, is anyone else? I have been running at 15-25 blue at 80%. The blue makes red plants pop, and more white makes greens pop. I'm curious as to which spectrum would be best suited to the plants. Visually, I like both and have settled in between. I have not been able to attain a spectrum breakdown of the white leds. Great channel btw.

    I’ve been watching a few of your videos every night. The light lessons are harder to understand on the lighted tanks. I want to set up some Purple, Red, and Green Plants. The only Blue Plant I found is the Eichhornia Azurea, But everyone that has one only grows it Green. What are they missing? I’m considering a Reef Tank Lighting system, because it seems more Full Spectrum than the Freshwater Lights. The new Fluval 3.0 seems less lights than the old 2.0 You figure?

    • @TheWaterBox
      @TheWaterBox  Pƙed 5 lety +1

      Some plants can only grow a certain color outside of water than inside. So no matter what you do, you can't change that. 2.0 vs 3.0 are mainly the same just some minor differences in features. No, reef lightning doesn't nessecary mean better spectral range for plants. Depends on the brand.

    • @TheWaterBox

  • @azurearcade342
    @azurearcade342 Pƙed 2 lety

    So red, blue, green is great for plants and white light has been reported to increase algae growth. This is key in trying to dial in the Fluval LED lights. I decreased the white spectrum and maxed out the red/blue (it doesn't have a green setting). Then decreased the time the lights are at full blast to about 7hrs. Since I'm dealing with a brown algea issue I will see if this works out.

    • @Khans0120
      @Khans0120 Pƙed 2 lety

      It will be too much blue for the plants and species in the tank and it won't be healthy for them either. Algae(a plant) utilizes a higher percentage of blue lighting compared to other plants. So the risk of an algae farm starting, will go up

    • @TheWaterBox
      @TheWaterBox  Pƙed 2 lety

      I'd sell it. You won't get enough of the red and yellow spectrum for fresh water plants on that light . I assume it's atunic blue? or is it the 10k White? I'd have to look at the specs but it still might not be enough for fresh water plants.

I'm trying to find a solution that will keep her happy but will not completely destroy her planted tank.
