Bringing tears to my eyes because I am old with arthritic in my hands and I can't sculpt anymore and I miss it so much. I loved to watch and savor the music, singing and the gentle cat I can appreciate the love you put it your work. Bless you.
Beautiful Music, and Skilled Hands, what could be more pleasurable. Wonderful way to spend 35 minutes. Bravo!!! Thank You!!!
I love how the kitty just wanders around so peacefully. It speaks to the character of the luthier. This brings me joy.
the background music is as beautiful as the craftsman's exquisite skill
The scroll on the neck is perfection. Very excellent craftsmanship by the artists. And I mean artists.
Wow the sound is so deep and smooth transition with lots of obertones...
The violin is beautiful but that scroll is awesome!! Thank you Jesus!🙏🏻
shaping of the violin top is breathtaking. worked with wood my whole life, with the aide of machines whenever possible. the hand stuff this guy produces is really gorgeous
Spectacular video. Remarkable craftsmanship. I am stunned. Thank you for the inspiration. From Oregon USA.
It must be wonderful to be such a skilled luthier.
What a fantastic way to use your time on this Earth.
ESA MELODÍAS DEL VIOLÍN TOCAN MI ESPÍRITU, SON EXPRESIVAS !
the violins in this video play the most beautiful hymns ever.
Yes they do and I am old school church pianist and knew most all of them. Absolutely amazing and soothing to listen to.
Besides the beauty of making of the violin, the video itself was so artfully presented, and the background music was also well chosen. I particularly enjoyed Toselli's Serenade sung by the amazing soprano. Bravo!
Enjoyed the video. Stirs the inner craftsman in me that are my maternal grandfathers genes. He was a carpenter and loved to work with wood. No escaping my genetic heritage. Love the music too. Thanks Brian
I do not play violin. I don't know why I watched the whole thing. Fascinating !
Such a display of precision craftsmanship and art....all in one creation..... truly sublime....
Title should be "Birth of a violin". You are bringing it to life.
good hands and ear for tone also feel for thickness all required and knowledge of how to achieve and make a good violin with two bright top strings and two dark bottom strings sounds great thank you so much for your video
Bom dia.....
É lindo demais o trabalho lutier
Jestem zachwycony starannością wykonywania. Wacław Olak. Poland.
Wow! How many luthiers can split a board "on the smallest dimension" with a hand saw. I'm already impressed!
I'm watching this show while I eat pop corn. A work of art in itself the way in which this luthier works.
love watching you and love the old hymns Lift up your head brother...
Beautiful, I love your adorable little cat!
THAT WAS GOB SMACKING BRILLIANT...WOW!!
I just want the violin neck to just dawdle over for hours. beautiful, especially the volute
Unbelievable craft. So precise and patient.
One of the best videos I have ever seen. Eventhough, I have never played the violin is so precious to me. I feel in love with the violin when I saw, "The Red Violin". The violin is to beautiful for words.
"Brian Lisus makes violins with love."
Keeping your hands in contact with the wood - along with your heart, soul, and mind in an attitude of love and in giving to others - is how the love is built into the instrument. How will the love from a human spirit get into the wood when most of the work is done by a machine?
Have you ever complimented a grandmother or aunt on how good her food was and they reply, "Thank you, sweetie... you're just tasting the love." What are they saying? "My skills are but humble, but my love for you is genuine. I put my heart of love for you into making this food for you to enjoy. If you are tasting something special, then it is the love and not my skills. "
Love is the "secret sauce" for everything in life. Everything works smoother and is more successful with love. Cooking is an expression of love. So is instrument making.
This isn't something that they put in books. It isn't something that science can identify and measure... but you can taste the difference, and you can hear the difference.
Love is the secret sauce that makes everything in life work better.
Come to the garden- sounds beautiful on the violin. Very nicely done.
My mom played the violin and she played all of those pieces playing in the background it was like having her back for a while. My granddaughter has her violin now. It was made with the sound board cut from a timber taken from reconstruction of the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim Norway. Unfortunately it was made by an amateur violin maker in Minneapolis Minnesota and even though it has good sound the finger board is slightly shorter than normal which would be a problem for a serious violin player unless that was the only violin they would ever play.
Thank you maestro for the phenomenal demonstration of how an instrument is born with love.
I've seen old violins x-rayed before, but love it that you have every aspect "cat=scanned" for perfection each step of the way...LOL. Your cat could watch you all day long!!! Beautiful work!!!!
Pet-Scan 😂😂
From the Birth of Beauty to the Emergence of Sound. Deepest thanks for these precious moments shared in your company.
Thank you brother for this interesting and educational film. I've really enjoyed it. Life without music is no life at all. May He continue to bless you and yours. Gx
Felicidades y gracias.
Magnifique travail
Thank you for glorifying God with the the accompanying hymns. Gloria a Dios!
Glora a dios !
What a lovely way to make a living.
i bet that cat makes a mean violin too. he's watching very closely he's learning technique. mastery.
@Soreofhing and yet, i did say it.
He wants to see where his guts are going to me wound on.
@@patboon4714 they only use guts on baroque instruments, specifically basses and chellos, and it’s usually sheep and not cats😭
Labor of Love, like luthiers
Beautiful Opera
He walks with me. In The Garden. Thank you. Very beautuful.
It must be hard work. Thank you for your love for the craft.
It looks like you two shared the crafting. Great attention to detail.
Marvelous Work!!!!!
It's something worth appreciating, and not only the construction and the music. The fact that there's so many videos of making all sorts of instruments and furniture that pull out a table saw in the first few minutes and 2 days worth of power sanding throughout all the while titled "hand crafted", while there's videos like this that doesn't even mention hand crafting. It gives people the false notion of what the term hand crafted truly means and devalues the time and skills of those (myself included) that take the effort to do it by hand.
Not to say I hate machines, I'd love to have a bandsaw for resawing wide boards. And yes, most people don't honestly care how you dimension your material, but it's always so frustrating to me to see thickness sanders and the newfangled rotary shapers and absurd amounts of sandpaper when a plane, a spokeshave, a chisel and a rasp (okay, might as well throw in a scraper for good measure) would get you 99% there in equal or less time and relatively no dust.
I wish I knew what he was making that finish out of, I've never seen that cooking process before
This man's skill is awesome! I fondly recognize all of the serene background worship melodies sweetly played on the violin. They provide a perfect setting for this excellent video.
Yes, he crafts very well. His wife does, too. You see her doing quite a bit of the carving.
Wonderful video and the music was profoundly delightful. May He bless your work!
a sight to behold is that bead formed around the violin body perimeter, and the inlay, and the F holes and the front and back sculpting inside and out. thanks for the vid showcasing this wonderful wood work
Gracias.

Although I've played guitar since 1970 and have a violin that my great-grandpa played, I have never MADE my own instrument. I can't imagine the enjoyment you'd get from playing an instrument you made. That being said, I've been carving carousel figures since 2007 (ran a steam-powered carousel in 2004-2005) and would LOVE to try making my own guitar or violin! What a cool video this was to watch! Thanks for the post!
Very beautifully made instrument.
The background sound track is really beautiful.👌🏻..
NP
It is he walks with me. The name might be Come to the Garden. At least that first song. Beautiful on the violin, or perhaps it was a viola.
This guy has perfected the art of the viola making.
🙏Wonderful and amazing thank you 🙂
I’m very fascinated by the amount of talent and precision in a violin makers job. But I would like to know more about the base bar as I’ve seen much thinner ones and am wanted to know the normal thickness.
Sublime!
Truly the most beautiful work of art, thank you for sharing.
19:14 This violin labeled with Dove & Olive branch as "Brian Lisus, S. Africa - 2010, "Peace"" by Brian Lisus Violins, "Instruments made with love & mindfulness"
A lot of master work and love in your violins
MASTER!!! ....BELLÍSIMO!!!!....MASTER...MASTER!!!!

Whoa, very impressed, when he starts to carve the scroll on the handle, amazing talent, incredible hand skills, a true professional. A few comments would improve the skills being shown, otherwise just EXCELLENT, especially the closeup video which shows and explains the processes clearly. Thank you.
