Michael Jackson's short film for "You Rock My World" was one of two short films produced for recordings from Invincible, Michael's sixth album as an adult solo performer. As a single, "You Rock My World" was a No. 1 hit in France, Spain Portugal, Poland and Romania, and reached the Top 10 in another 16 countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy and Australia. In the United States, the single reached the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 (his 28th career Top 10 single in America), Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles, Mainstream Top 40 and Rhythmic Top 40-marking Michael's fourth consecutive decade with a Top 10 hit since the 1970s.
The edited version of the "You Rock My World" short film was released for primetime video airplay. Like its extended version, it features guest appearances from Chris Tucker, Michael Madsen and Marlon Brando (in one of his final film appearances). Michael and Chris follow a beautiful girl (Kiyasha Dudley) into a club, where Michael attempts to woo her from a potential suitor (Madsen). Michael's seduction causes a fight between an enforcer (Billy Drago) and himself, which results in a fire breaking out in the club. Michael ultimately escapes with Chris and the girl.
The "You Rock My World" short film won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Music Video in 2002.

For anyone too young to be alive or remember when Michael released this song it was a monumental moment. Everything he did was big and this song was the buzz that circled around the album. He had 24 hour bullentin board airing this song NON stop for 24 hours. Imagine driving through L.A. and Michaels latest never seen before video is theatre screen sized hahaha. I am 71yrs old, I love Micheal I KNEW him many years ago. From me my children and grandchildren have grown with his music his moves. I feel honoured that I lived whilst he did. My whole family have experienced him. Now my great grand kids are experiencing his genius. Whole family love him and his music as much as I did. Sad yes but my god happy I went to concerts, I lived listened copied his moves and watched as his light lifted the world. Totally was misunderstood. Thankyou Micheal you touched my world. Man, the fact that Michael didn’t go crazy or down a really dark path because of what he was going through is amazing to me. He was in excruciating pain every. Single. Day. And he had severe insomnia. So bad to the point where he became addicted to drugs not for a high or anything, but because they let him sleep peacefully. He didn’t deserve what happened to him dude.
