Tesseract - Juno - Bloodstock Open Air Metal Festival 2019 . Title Track : Juno Ronnie James Dio Stage Mixed & Mastered by Acle Kahney at www.4dsounds.com www.bloodstock.uk.com
@@platosev they're all audio engineers. even BBC complained about how good they make themselves sound like. less sample additions than you think and yes it's obviously re mixed... but from the show.
@@PhyroMcBruceEsq it is a hit on a drum or cymbal (or another instrument) that is very low in velocity and is there as an interesting rhythmic 'fill'. You can spot those across the whole song but mostly at around 0:33 in the beginning as the drummer is hitting the snare with a single strong stroke and then multiple soft ones. The soft ones are ghost notes. He is a very good drummer, real tasteful.
One of the benefits of having smart engineering and electrical knowledge in the band members who know the ins and outs of their own systems and variables. Such a great band
Seriously, if all/most of this was Acle's doing, if Tesseract ever goes belly up, he could live comfortably as a producer AND live engineer if he wanted. One of the best live vids I've ever heard, the kind of sound that live albums strive for.
@@ramirogimenez6525 like this performance, the opeth live show was also remixed after the fact. What sounds great through a large format system doesn't necessarily translate well out of that environment. All these show are great mixes, but the original live sound engineer needs credit too. When you see tesseract live it sounds phenomenal.
@@DanielTompkins there is another video on youtube recorded in moshpit, you can hear some details. There is nothing wrong with tuning, unless you exaggerate it. So, this is still great. I know what you can do. I watched you in Istanbul. That was one of my favourite concerts by now :)
@@monjagyl1100 sorry chap, will make sure you're included in the meeting to check what is, ans isn't old, then we can get the memo out to everyone so we can avoid your annoyance in the future.
Ive still hace to come across a Tesseract live Video that Acle have not mixed Himself, got to admire his dedication to making the band sound impecable in every single medium
Literally every damn thing about the sound here is fckn perfection and Dan..... Dan. He is a god among men. The best vocalist in the prog-rock scene at the moment in my opinion.
Tesseract is next level lol not many people can deal with their music....thus, they end up not headbanging, because the time signatures are basically godmode.
Cameraman managed to capture my most wholesome moment of the festival at 3:53. Is it really a metal festival if you're not hugging your mates after about 20 pints of Hobgoblin?
Your moves are great Dan, and so is your performance as a whole. Keep on being a legend you are! Sonder made a huge impact on me and is one of my favorite albums up to date. Namaste
Unreal guys. Just unreal that we live in a time where a band can be this tight and perfect. And DAN.... omg no words. Watching him improve over the years with his live performances in just amazing.
This is how live sounds needs to be mixed
Saw them in November, honestly the best live sound I've ever heard
"Mixed & Mastered by Acle Kahney"
This is obviously a re-mixed and re-mastered audio from the live version with addition of samples to drums etc. But, yes, it sounds nice
Needs some crowd noise.
@@platosev they're all audio engineers. even BBC complained about how good they make themselves sound like. less sample additions than you think and yes it's obviously re mixed... but from the show.
And on the bass... give it up for Hugh Grant!
😂
SPOT ON!!!!
literally LOL'd
Especially now that his hair is shorter
that's the first time anyone's made that joke
For every single beautiful ghost note I can hear, I shed a tear. Ye I cry a lot. The mix is ridiculous, cmon. Brilliant.
hi what's a ghost note?

@@karolkozak64 Fantastic explanation mate. Really gets the message across
i love your comment
You ever heard the ghost notes in Bleed by Meshuggah? Almost as orgasmic as the ghost notes here.
I just love Dan's Power Ranger moves!
Hands down, one of my favorite things to watch!
His stage presence was so hypnotic, I love it. Doesn't hurt that he's a beautiful man too, hah.
holy shit this mix is insane
I was there. I swear TesseracT split the sky with their sound. One of the best live performances I've ever seen.
Lord Elrond has such a nice bass tone
He was there, 3000 bass notes ago
Fellowship of the String
Jajajajaja
Lord of the Strings
😂
Probably the best performance at Bloodstock. Tesseract also had the best sound too in my opinion.
Agreed! One of my highlights for the weekend :D
My favourite on the Friday
One of the benefits of having smart engineering and electrical knowledge in the band members who know the ins and outs of their own systems and variables.
Such a great band
For a weekend absolutely ruined by sound issues, Tesseract's mix was absolutely beautiful
That's acle kahney for you baby
Pretty certain that nobody on earth can mix a live performance as well as Acle
Christian Baumgartner nolly is a mixing jedi as well
Seriously, if all/most of this was Acle's doing, if Tesseract ever goes belly up, he could live comfortably as a producer AND live engineer if he wanted. One of the best live vids I've ever heard, the kind of sound that live albums strive for.
I mean when you have the studio mix setup ready to go.. it's almost plug and play to a degree. But he's just a god in general
listen this, OPETH - Ghost of Perdition (LIVE AT RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATRE) czcams.com/video/BAlDEcQMLio/video.html

the on the fly tuning at 2:54 is pretty beast. this performance sets standards.
3:20 The way Dan sings "done"...... so simple, yet so amazing.
And the ‘for’. These vocal alterations are incredible and should be on the album.
That has to be tastiest snare sound of all time. Crisp as hell
The sound clarity is really impressive.
Acle in the thumbnail looks like a renaissance painting
Daniel sings better here than on the album! God I love him
his vocals are a bit tuned ofc. but great anyway
@@galigapiya zero tuning

@@galigapiya The vocals are 100% the same as the moshpit video. > And yes, i checked with Variaudio in Cubase.
Dan's Jojo stances are on point
The crowd is dead...The rhythm is throwing off their head banging!
They need to learn some timings 😜
follow the china
No one can simply headbanging to Tesseract that easily sir, that time signature though, out of this world, LOL
What? Most of this song is 4/4
@@dylonsky4347 yeah sure, but sometimes it's not that obvious, especially if you're not used to weirdly syncopated stuff
3:22 that note was beautiful
The mix is unreal af this is incredible
Mix so pure and clean it cured my Covid.
How did I miss Amos transforming into Hugh Grant?
Also, what kind of sorcery is this?
Lol I was there and kept thinking the same too
Have you ever seen Amos and Hugh Grant in the same room together? I haven't..
that comment is getting so old.
@@monjagyl1100 sorry chap, will make sure you're included in the meeting to check what is, ans isn't old, then we can get the memo out to everyone so we can avoid your annoyance in the future.
What a performance!!! This is good enough to be on a live album...hint...
I would pay for a live album.
You got your wish
You vs the sound engineer she tells you not to worry about.
What are your mixing secrets ?
Acle Kahney : Yes !
Acle Kahney is one phenomenal audio engineer, wish he collaborates with creative live or nailthemix in the future.
The mix on this insane for a live performance holy shit
One of the best of Sonder, this is a masterpiece. I love so much this band
Best suprise band of the weekend for me
It actually hurts how GOOD this live mix is. We need more quality like this out there!
Everyone fucking killed it for this, god damn. Dan's stage moves are legendary
Someone appreciates the shapes! Bless ya!
1:28 Together, Potato.
dude this might be my favorite Tesseract performance yet, chills!
Probably one of the best performances I've ever seen :)
I will never understand how TesseracT are not absolutely massive! They are just so amazing!
Seeing what is actually popular these days is depressing.
Sound engineer deserves a Thicc raise, this mix is fucking gorgeous.
Josh K Acle does it all. I would love to sick him on so many other bands to do live mixes of their stuff.
@@WitzyZed I agree, this mix sounds at LEAST as good as the album, which is goddamn remarkable for a festival environment.
Come on Bloodstock, upload the whole concert ;) love Tesseract

Most of this song is 4/4 dumbass
No, it's based on 4/4, it's actually 2/4 through the middle
Don't call someone dumbass ^^
@@billfujsteen7064 4/4 but with fucked up accents, so yeah, not so easy to headbang to
This isn't animals as leaders. The drums just have tricky accents nothing else
Definitely one of the best sounding bands I’ve ever seen live in person. This mix is insane. Can’t wait to catch them this tour
This is the best live mix I’ve ever heard
Cameraman managed to capture my most wholesome moment of the festival at 3:53.
Is it really a metal festival if you're not hugging your mates after about 20 pints of Hobgoblin?
0:23 right cross, muay thai clinches and knee up the middle. Dan beating the crap out of the air on the stage!
If this is how TesseracT sound live, then congratulations on my favorite live show ever next April in Mexico City.
Saw them twice. They actually sound like this. It's been years and i still don't believe it.
Anton Larchey I will die a happy man. Where did you see them?
@@DiegoPujolT Nantes, France, at a small venue, 300 people max, could be 1m away from Dan, it was amazing
They have by far the best live sound I heard so far, great shows :)
yep, there a visual band aswell, there lighting is INSANE.
I clicked because the hair of the man in the thumbnail is fabulous. Also the music
Everything is absolutely on point. Outstanding
sounds so clean, tight, sexy, and so godlike. TesseracT, the future of music
Sounds fantastic...this mix is an A+
What the fuck. This sounds fricken phenomenal! Wish there was an entire show uploaded!
Tesseract setting the standard for how rock/metal should sound in the future.
5 string bass , 7 string guitar .... that speaks volumes and it all makes sense ... awesome :-)
Pretty much standard in modern progressive metal at this point but yes, they kick ass
i know everyone's talked about how amazing this mix is, but can we just appreciate how Dan is such an electrifying frontman?
God damn... I love these guys so much! Also, that mix is perfection.
Always amazing live...
Jesus Christ the sound production and the performance in its entirety (DANS VOCALS). This entire set should be made into a DVD. This is PRIME
This is one of the best live sounds I've ever heard ❤️

Unbelievable set, whole band was so sick not a note wrong and kept in time amazingly, vocals are out of this world
such a great sound and playing
Its mixed by Acle (the guitarist) himself :)
Beautiful
These dudes are phenomenal live!
I am amazed on how clean and sharp that bass tone gets through the mix. That's incredible
Incredible sound
What a great vocal performance!
