I love a pair of either baggy pants or very standard chinos. Only enough cuffing for them to not rip under your feet but to still bag over your shoes. They should also only ever show sock during a long hard push.
Same in Europe. We’ve got Carhartt WiP, which is their more fashion oriented brand and everything is at least £40 more than regular Carhartt. And regular Carhartt isn’t really too popular as workwear in this country either

For me, Polar ‘93 jeans are perfect. Expensive, but made well and kinda heavy denim that I’ve found to be pretty durable. Baggy enough to be able to move well in them without looking crazy
I was so surprised when he said the quality was cheap. These pants have to be one of the most durable and well made pants imo plus they look great baggy and you can never go wrong with them.
Totally agree with this whole list, besides cargos because I love my Rothco ones 😂 I think you should give Levi 550’s a whirl, the cheaper ones Levi Strauss, they’re actually great baggy fit and cheap
Overalls are practically very useful, if you get a pair that don’t have the straps flying off everywhere, it makes it a lot more breathable and you don’t get half as sweaty/tired I find. Just allows a lot more air
You should do one tier list like this but about full sets of clothing instead of specific things, styles of dudes like Figgy or Wade Desarmo back in the day, sets that are so specific to define. (sorry if my english sucks, I´m learning).
Cargo pockets are amazing. I wear cargo shorts all summer and when I go back to jeans I hate having normal pockets. You can carry a huge phone like a 21 Ultra or iPhone Pro Max, wallet, skate tool, wax, sunglasses/case, vape and liquid or I guess cigarettes and lighter if you smoke , bag of weed, and with room to spare. When I go to the skatepark or to street spots I don't wanna bring a backpack or a bag and my cargo shorts can hold all I need including water bottles and snacks lol. And if I bring a backpack I tend to bring way more than I need like extra bearings and wheels, grip, bushings, trucks "just in case" and I've never needed that shit in a session in 20+ years of skating. The one thing I have needed is another deck, something I can't fit in a backpack anyway, so my cargo shorts is all I need with a skate tool and an extra deck in my car/truck. But as much as I love my short's pockets I still won't wear cargo pants because they look so bad and I just bring a plastic bag to a session.
Bare with me but having lived on both coasts, I’d say in California, skating and surfing are popular and acceptable enough nowadays for kids who would have been straight up jocks if they lived in Missouri -to be jocks of the board sport variety. But a significant portion of skateboarders are more on the ‘outsider’ and slightly more artistic/ individual end of the jock spectrum.

I found some Dickies motorcycle pants the other day, they're sick, and they don't have weird pockets nor knees reinforcement. a bit baggy though but cheap. probably like the jeans you mentioned but made out of canvas-ey fabric.
i used to skate wranglers back in the day because they were tough as nails, didnt rip easily, they were cheap. dickies work pants were in vogue as well as the dickies jacket, the jacket helped you avoid road rash, but the baggy drip always tripped me up when skating, always felt like excessive fabric got in the way when i was setting up, now days i prefer joggers, or slim straight jeans when i skate. shorts are big no no for me, my geriatric ass cant take another knee on the pavement, i wear knee pads and dont give a fuck how goofy and sweaty my knees get

What about Tripp pants? When I was in high school there were some of us that wore Tripp pants to skate in. I never did myself as I felt all the dangle belt things and the chains got in the way plus how they bunched up around your feet got in the way when doing flip tricks but there were a couple guys who could skate great in them.

Man I just go to Walmart and stock up on those slim flex fit breathable sweat pants and also basic gym shorts. Looks good with tall socks. Light fitting no belts required. I can't find a pair of jeans that fit properly to save my life so I just get a bunch of these for like 10$. I have maybe one pair of vans kakis. But again no stretchable waistband need a belt and most belts are not comfortable for skating. And Ive always skated skinnier pants but that's probably cause I'm behind on style living in the Midwest but that's basically all I wear for skating.
If anyone knows any skate brands that make pants of this style ide be more than happy to check them out depending on the price. Cause I am in skate pants purgatory

I enjoyed it at the time but seeing what the popularity has turned skating into I wish it would've never happened honestly.

Also the tapered silvertab jean is part of what makes it cool. Otherwise you're wearing lee pipes, and nobody wanted lee pipes.
I bought the Polar 92 jeans and love the fit. I like to see my feet when I skate so the taper works better form me than the 93 or Big Boys.
