we wrap out straw bales to save them from getting rotten due to weather and straw here is used for both bedding and feed (with ammonia or urea) and even some heat plants can use em. in every of these applications having a wet/rotten bale is bad business. and dont forget this is in norway where we have long winters, this in the south of norway so id imagine its a long and wet winter aswell. and having a big shed just for bales is not feasible either so wrap them it is and its also not as much straw around overall to bale either so we need to save what we can
