This was one of the first games I remember being properly addicted to when it came out but having to go all the way back to the start of levels was truly painful but save points weren't a thing back then. A bit later Rygar came out which was perhaps even more addictive again.

How on earth can a game postpone your gaming life by 2 years, when as you made this comment, it had only been out for 1 month? This is a brand new game. It's no a remake or a remaster. This game was NEVER in the arcades. It was a Nintendo switch game first, releasing for the first time in February 2021, and then was later ported to the other consoles, and to PC. At no point was it ever an arcade game. It was only ever a home game.
Did you think this was a remake of the old ghosts and goblins games, or something? Lmao it's not that at all, it's a brand new game in the series. It's never existed as an arcade machine. It only came out last year anyway (i.e. it came out for the first time in February 2021, mid-pandemic, so of COURSE it wasn't in the arcades, because who would make a game for arcades when most of the world is quarantining at home and so they can't go to arcades to play new games?)

This was one of the first games I remember being properly addicted to when it came out but having to go all the way back to the start of levels was truly painful but save points weren't a thing back then. A bit later Rygar came out which was perhaps even more addictive again.

Ive beaten the original on my Sega Megadrive and I can honestly say the new one on Switch is somehow harder.
That last part is the most vividly angry a game has made me without me actually playing it
This is getting awfully close to my idea for a joke hardest difficulty setting that just randomizes the inputs once per second.
If I ever make a game I would make like 10 easy mode options that in reality just call the player a pussy and constantly make fun of them.

Ghosts and goblins was the first game I ever played back on the NES. Even today, 30 years later, I’m not sure if I ever beat the red demon.

@@emblemblade9245 Was there any particular cheese strategy for the Red Devils at least? Zelda II Iron Knuckles (and shielded enemies in general in that game) become a cakewalk once you realize you can just stab them while falling during a jump.
