The home reward ending mechanic actually began WAY back in Wario Land, based on how much gold you got primarily. But if you got the MAX/99999 amount of Gold (not necessarily from the actual coins, just by the time the Genie stops counting it all up _along_ with the treasure) AND all 15 Treasures AND cleared all 40 courses when meeting the Genie, you got the ultimate reward from them, being a Wario planet outright. Otherwise, you got a birdhouse, a tree trunk, a log cabin, a Japanese pagoda, and a castle.

Yeah the American release of this game got the short end of the stick when it came to the Black Jewel's fight, in the second phase when it got down to half health, the music kicks up wnd the Black Jewel actually fights back instead of stays far away with ranged attacks.
Ahh, so basically the reverse of Devil May Cry 3, where, on the japanese release normal was normal, while on the european and american versions normal was hard
The Pal version also only has the shorter fight. Which is quite a bummer....
They pull the classic "America can't handle difficulty" like what they did with megaman 2
@@runman624 Actually, Mario Lost Levels is the couldn’t handle one, as Mega Man 2 does have Difficult on the US release, Japan didn’t have US’ Normal Mode.
@@runman624 It was actually that the US was the first version to be released and the Japanese version came much later. It wasn't due to difficulty, but rather that they had more time to develop the Japanese version and add improvements.
Fun fact; The final boss is WAY cooler in the Japanese version. It uses trailer music & a second phase.

@@gimo6881the game was successful in Japan, the company working with Nintendo on this game decided to further develop the game and included bug patches and the extended final boss phase. This was never brought overseas as it was exclusively in Japan, which is a shame.

Fun fact: in japans version of Wario world, the Black Jewel actually has a second phase making it such a better boss. Not only does it have new attacks and you’re able to attack it, but it also has better textures and another boss theme that’s a remix of greenhorn forest
This is because the Japan version came out after the Western version, so it had more development time
No wonder Nintendo hates America - our country sucks ass.

I think the song is closer to the one that plays on Pecan Sands. It’s melody is still rooted in the Greenhorn Forest theme but nevertheless.
Fun fact: the wind thing at 6:16 also appears as a hazard in the Wario Palace stadium in Mario Superstar Baseball

Since none of these happen, I'll give a slight briefing :
Death : You just lose a couple hundred coins. No big deal.
Getting 50 coins from the Small enemies : If you kill all the enemies except for one small guy, it'll run away. When he does, kill it to get 50 coins instead of like the 2 coins it drops. Nice way to make Bank.

Japan's Version has a waaaay better boss fight. If you guys can, look it up.
So, some of you might know that the final boss fight in the Japanese version is a lot better. The reason for that is because the English verison of this was actually created first! The Japanese version being an updated version. Really sucks that one of the few times we get the game first, it ends up being the inferior verison.
But if you haven't seen the Japanese verison of the final boss, it's actually really cool. It has an entire second phase where turns into a straight up brawl.

In the japanese version of the game once the jewel reach half of its health its truly different
The jewel while fight hand to hand and the music is truly epic

I love how when Wario fights the black Jewel it not only destroys the entire whole treasure square and replaces it with a Mystic platform but it also inverts the colors in the background

No, it's because the japanese release came almost a year after the pal/us release and they had the time to change a bit the final boss, basically the same reason as the hidden mansion in the original PAL version of luigi mansion.

Did you know that the Japanese version of the game has a different final boss? It’s the same until the halfway point but it has a second phase and new music exclusive to the Japanese version cuz the Japanese developers didn’t think that the final boss felt… final enough.

Honestly, the Black Jewel seems tame in terms of design.
Weber allows you to become evil. He gives you a contract that you bring to a spot in the map and transform into a Darkling that can destroy the entire game. He also gives you other cursed items to screw you over.

I'm a little sad that the international release of this game got a bit robbed for the final boss. In the Japanese version, there's actually an entire second phase once it gets to half health with more aggressive attacks and everything. I believe it even plays the E3 trailer music as a triumphant reprise.
