  • Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh is predicted to become the world's largest metropolis by 2025, along with Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Mexico City and New York City. This is driven by the mass migration of people. But this population surge isn't all that beautiful.

      Yes my beloved Dhaka, the city of my birth is named after the Temple of Maa Dhakeshwari (Durga). Coming from a Muslim family; I am proud of this history and the beautiful name of the temple and the city. There is no point of following any religion if it cannot teach you humanity, tolerance, peace and harmony. Apart from few incidents here and there; we the Bangalis from Bangladesh irrespective of our religious background love to live together in peace. I guess for us the Bangalis at times, we love our food and culture are more important than our religions. Amar shonar bangla ami tomai onek beshi valobashi. Joy Bangla

      Never forget it is only 80 years before Bangladesh was part of the British colony for 200 years; where our wealth was looted by the British for two centuries. Now that our people are free since 1971; and with all the challenges we are shaping our country with lots of love and dreams. It will take time and we shall make mistakes but it will be our mistakes and fulfilment of our dreams after those mistakes. One thing for sure and I know as a Bangladeshi how much we love our beautiful Bangladesh. When it comes to its natural beauty; it is probably one of the best in the world. Its just a matter of time for us making it look nicer; like a good chef make the food look good before presenting it to its customers. To achieve that our first priority is to improve our education and add morality (not religious ritual studies) in our education from school to university. This will help us to reduce poverty and crime. We must keep religion separate from politics & governance and become a truly secular modern high income high tax welfare economy like those Scandinavians countries. If once ruthless Vikings can become the most civilized countries in the world; then Bangladesh will also progress with the right direction and leadership. That is the dream I have for my beloved Bangladesh. Amar shonar bangla ami tomai onek beshi valobashi.

      .. Dhaka is surrounded by Buringanga, Turag & Shitalkha river which gives Dhaka a immense strategic advantage. .. not to mention the Padma river to the South west, The Jamuna river on the North West & finally the Meghna on the south East makes Dhaka to impossible to pernitrate in case some hostile
      jealous neighbouring country wants to take over Dhaka or Bangladesh that's why in 1971 during Bangladesh, Pakstan conflict when then indian PM Mrs.
      Indira Gandi asked her top General Sam Manek Shaw to invade Bangladesh(then East pakstan) in 1971 in the month of April Gen. Manek Shaw threatened
      her (Mrs. Ganndhi) to resign his post as the commander of chief & they had a heated argument .. his exact answer was .. " Do you ( Mrs. Ghandhii) even
      realize the strategic location of Bangladesh. .. the snows in the Himalayas just started melting.. monsoon is about to get started & all the rivers in
      Bangladesh will become like Sea .. you can't even see one river bank from other .. it'd be pure defeat for us even before we (india) can be able to shot a
      single bullett. .. our soldiers, infantry are not accustomed with the riverine landscape nor we (indiann army, Navy) have the military hardware to
      encompass or navigate the numerous waterways in Bangladesh. .. we (indian army) can't even move around our heavy artillery .. it'd be pure defeat .. I
      (Gen. Manekshaw) can't send my soldiers to commit suicide" ... in reply PM Mrs. Gandhii said "So, what your (Gen. Manekshaw) suggestion" .. Gen.
      Manekshaw simply shrugged his shoulder & said " We have to wait till November when the snow cap starts to gather & freeze on the Himalayas thus the
      water on all the rivers in Bangladesh starts to descend & all the river beds will be started to dry then we could move our infantry & artillery". .. Mrs. Gandhii
      looked at his eyes for a long time & then she said "What should we do then?" .. again Gen. Manek shaw replied with ease & said, "As a matter of fact we
      (indiaa) don't have to do nothing .. let the West Pakstani army feel the Bangladeshi monsoon & let them ( West Pak Army) swim across the Bangladeshi
      rivers .. they ( Pakstan army) can't even move their artillery or infantry till November" .. Mrs. Gandhii didn't take his response seriously & thought he was
      joking so, to assure her again Gen. Sam Manek Shaw said "Madam PM. start building international coalition & order your foreign ministry to start talking
      with Russia .. if possible sign a defence treaty with Russia ASAP & other Eastern European countries who are not USA allies .. because this World may not
      noticing the Bangladesh crisis right now in the month of early April'19.71 but eventually it will ... & this Bangladesh issue will be raised in the U.N in favor
      of Pak by the US.A. .. & since Chinaa is a strong partner of Pakstan Chinaa will be not vote against Pakstan & then Englaand, Francee will vote as U.SA ask
      them to in the .UN. securityy counciil. .. & we need at least one country with veto power who will vote in favor of Bangladesh at the U.N .. & the only
      country left beside other permanent members is Russia .. it'll be Russia who'll decide the fate of the Bangladesh Pak war. .. not only that if we could make Russia agree to sign a defence treaty with india .. we india is safe from the USA & China too."

Whenever i asked why he would just say because it feels like home there , the beauty of Bangladesh is unprecedented. Ignore the stupid words of my other brothers my Bangladeshi Brothers, many Indians love your country as marks how even a divided culture could get along soo well unlike India And Pakistan . Your development is so huge because you people hardly cared about what other countries were doing or had to say about you , you just continued your way to success.Again i would love to visit Bangladesh one day just to meet and experience their beauty my self , love from India 🇮🇳🇧🇩🇮🇳🇧🇩❤️❤️❤️❤️

There's no regard for a sense of cleanliness. People do what they want and what they need to. Corruption is just the norm and accepted by everyone. There's like a distrust between the people and the government. Even if you can have a nice modern high rise apartment in Dhaka it's still not nice to live there mainly because of traffic and population. The noise is insane. It's either crazy dusty in the dry season or muddy in the rainy season. I know there's some places that aren't like this. And currently should reduce dependency on garments and move on to industries like Electronics, Automobiles , Robots , IT , Pharmaceuticals and Shipbuilding.

      Also we’re probably going to get Rafales from France as our main MRCA fighters , and secondary may be F-16s from America due to American pressure on our economy.
      But Dhaka is a lost cause , it’s trash and we need to make a new capital which will require time and money but since we failed to make Dhaka great we’ll have to make a new proper planned capital and I agree with Sonargoan as your choice.

      Recently the U.S has been getting closer forcible with BD through sanctions on the RAB , this shows that if BD doesn’t want future sanctions we’ll have to work with Uncle Sam. Also China hasn’t developed a single nation yet which shows that they’re not really here to help us that much unlike the U.S which assisted major development in nations like South Korea , Japan and Taiwan.
      And yea I agree that we need to put more effort and money in our people , education and healthcare, to further develop this nation once in for all.
      And yes we MUST combat religious extremism cause that’s one of the biggest threats and also combat corruption in all sectors if possible.
      Bangladesh has access to the sea’s and fertile land and bunch of rivers , like Vietnam we also can use rivers to our advantage for trade. We also have to develop indigenously our own infrastructures, especially rail and bridges.
      Also for industrialization , we need to focus more on machines and robots or computers in general cause today and in the future machines will rule and the nations who have the capability to produce indigenous machines ( Robots , Computers , CPUs , Electronics etc) will have the ultimate edge.
      (Also Bangladesh can put aside 3-5 billion dollars for a small space agency like India’s , and buy rockets from Ukraine and reverse engineer their rockets to have a space edge as well cause nations with a space agency will have a MAJOR edge against others and will have lobbying power)
      But one thing Dhaka for sure it mostly sadly a lost cause , unless we can forcibly decentralize it than maybe we can redevelop the whole damm mess of a city to maybe make a it a commercial hub.
      But yes ins Allah Bangladesh will be a industrialized developed nation by 2040-50s

    In order to expedite growth imo Bangladesh should:
    1) Gradually phase out Bicycle Rickshaws as they clog the roads
    2) Ensure all traffic lights actually work and that the traffic laws are enforced
    3) Local roads are in a horrendous state and are largely neglected - They need to be resurfaced urgently.
    4) Get rid of unroadworthy buses that are major cause of accidents and danger to pedestrians
    5) Modernise Sadar Ghat!!!
    6) The footbridges are in very bad state, you can actually see joists, corrosion, broken parapets etc. Very dangerous.
    7) Introduce toll charges for large vehicles, lorries etc
    8) To have a proactive maintence schedule and nor REACTIVE!

      Buses are better than cars. It's the driver that's the core of the problem. Most of the buses which run on Dhaka's street are old.

    • @emonparvez3459
      @emonparvez3459 Před 2 lety +7

      Everything you said is absolutely correct. First Dhaka really needs to get rid of Rickshaws which I think will happen by the end of 2025 or maybe 2030 . They should get rid of old buses which are not in a good fitness and every bus driver should have their driving license or else they can't drive. I think this is really needed. They should stop attaching poster on the main Street . they should modernize the parks and plant more n more tree's. Although Everything take times . But if they can follow a strict rules I really believe Dhaka will have a new face!!

    • @sidkings
      @sidkings Před 2 lety +6

      @@emonparvez3459 100% agreed! I remember a few years ago school kids were protesting about road safety. The children in Bangladesh have more sense than the adults.
      Ultimately it comes down to political will and enforcement. If the authorities don't implement or enforce the rules then no one will bother to follow them.
      I read that in Dhaka there is only 10,000 police officers for a city of about 18,000,000. They need at least 100,000 officers, including a dedicated traffic force.
      Also I would like to see a tram system developed across all main towns and cities in BD, this would assist in reducing the need for buses.

    • @t.f.r287
      @t.f.r287 Před 2 lety +5

      Woah, why so much hatred for rickshaws. These are the cheapest vehicles for travelling inside a neighborhood. Speaking of buses, I believe we should limit the number of bus companies using a specific route. If we want to change the police force, we need to crack down on inefficiencies at the top of the chain of command, starting with the justice system and the government itself
