Great job!! A tip for containing all floating fish from wondering elsewhere and getting stuck between rocks etc., I use a 'cut out' rectangular or square' foam/ polystyrene to keep fish meal in enclosed area, stop it floating else where. But only works for a short time as some bigger fish pallets tend to sink to bottom. Feed as little as possible, so you don't get high nitrates spikes. A generous base of substrate sand, gravel, keeps eco system going too. More lily type cover or similar will control algae growth.

Had my ponds for 20 years and always battled trying to make the water clear. Added a large waterfall box last year with bio balls inside it along with a mesh filter. Boom! Problem solved. This year opened the ponds and cleaned the filters every 3 days until the water got super clear. Now I clean the boxes once a week. I swear by bio balls.

You need some submergent oxygenator plants! They add oxygen & consume the nutrients that the algae live on so help the fish & reduce the algae. You don't even need a pump if you use enough of the right amount of plants in the pond.

Clear water doesn't always mean it's healthy water.
It's always a good idea to check your water before you do a water change. You can see what is wrong (high nitrites, nitrates, ammonia, etc.) Sometimes just a water change and or filter needs to be changed but sometimes you need to do a little extra

In the UK, Koi are normally kept in a plant free pond as putting plant in the fish will eat and destroy it so they need less feed till your plants is gone.

pro tip from experience . fine mesh canvas bags cheaply bought from the grocery store or reusable grocery bags has an extremely fine filtering capability and quick washing or rinsing off capability. in 24 hours you can clear a Green Pond or a dirty pond with three or four bags or just two large bags while you wash the one and clean the other. I run two large bags with two 60 watt pumps when necessary for extra filtering and just clean and wash the Bags every few hours. three or four sessions is usually enough to clear 3000 L of water from cloudy to Crysta, l crystal clear.

Nitrite is high because you cleaned the old filter with chlorinated water. You should have definitely used old tank water(already dechlorinated) or dechlorinate a bucket of water.
And yes dechlorinate the pond before adding water. But props for you testing the water after the changes you made!

Tip #3 change your water at least once or twice a month. Hmm. Not with tap water which will bring in in chemicals that harm the fish and increase the algae. Also masking the problems with the water care. Increase the number of plants for filtration, always use rain water to refill, barley straw will then be a really effective algae remover.
