Still a better upgrade than the 14 Pro to 15 Pro. The camera upgrade is def a reason in its own to buy this if you are coming from an older device. I'm sure Apple will use this sensor for the next couple generations!

Apple used to bring previous pro max sensor to the next standard model but this year it's not the case. The 48MP sensor smaller in the standard 15 (around 10mm diagonally) than the 14/15 pro (which is 12.2mm diagonally). It's little bit bigger than the 14 series. But it's a good upgrade none the less.

For most users, sticking with 14/15 is fine. The only differentiation as most people don't use the bells and whistle of the pro's series. They tend to use them as a status symbol. Just my thought.
For real. Most common users couldn't even maximize the use of the Pro model's cameras. I saw a lot of Pro model users with awful photography skills.

@@zelbarbero Real photographers use DSLR's. And if they're just starting out, they can make even an iphone 11 work perfectly if they're REALLY destined to be pro photographers. But the truth is NO iPhone is good enough for real professional photography and cinema. The 11 camera was perfect imo, great image stabilization, great sharpening, colors, everything. the 15 camera isn't $400 or even $100 better than the 11 camera. That's why I'm buying the 14 rather than the 15.

I am just really glad you put effort into 15 series besides 15Pro and Pro max, the whole youtube is full of “15 pro camera” review, it is awesome, everybody knows it. But a lot of people are also going to buy the basic 15 series as many people don’t really need the pro features, besides, 15 series are more financial affordable.

Important correction: The upgraded Portrait mode is NOT going to be available on older iPhone models via the iOS 17 update.
One thing that you can achieve with iOS 17 is changing the focus point if you’ve taken the photo in portrait mode. At least it worked with my iPhone 13 Pro

Yeah, the more I look at this year’s lineup, the more it makes sense the standard is best value.

The ability to convert regular photos to portraits is NOT coming to other iPhone's with iOS 17.

@@shlomoi9404 I agree however they could have at least done something like increasing charge speeds to add that as an incentive instead of holding back a feature for the sake of it. I could understand if they said "Only available on the 14 pro and 15 line up as they are the same spec but this was extremely shady.

My refresh cycle for my iPhone is like 5-6 years and now it will be the 5th year and soon will replace it with the 15 Pro Max 😍 256gb since I’m in my iPhone XR with 128gb and still have 33gb remaining on my storage I think 256gb will be a great storage option for me. ☺️
I would suggest you to wait one more year for the 16 as we have some good rumors about that, it could bring bigger changes

Small corrections:
3:35 iPhone 14's A15 is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and X65 Modem, while on 15 it is LPDDR5 and X70 modem. Neither of them support Wi-Fi 6E, which is reserved for 15 Pro.
4:30 It's not the same sensor as 14 Pro, it's an entirely new sensor (which supposed to have stacked design for improved light capture) that is actually smaller than 14&15 Pro's. The focal length is also still at 26mm while not even getting second generation sensor-shift stabilization

Good that you pointed out the screen colors difference. For me the 15 screen seems extra glossy/reflective.
Great video. Similar performance. It all comes down to the USB-C port, higher resolution photos and the dynamic island or notch. Personally, I don't like the island for cutting into content.
Can you give us an overview of tecno phantom X2 you said it will be your daily phone how is the camera,how does it function is it worth it?
I have the 14 Pro rn (my first iPhone) and it’s great, but there’s these “Pro” features that I don’t necessarily need, and makes the price not “worth it” as a casual/normal user. So the basic models is what’s perfect for me I think, BUT one feature that I will now always be looking for in a phone is the 120hz screen! I don’t think I can go back to a 60hz screen. I just WISH they also add this onto the basic models, or at least a 90hz would be nice! I’m hoping we’ll see it on the iPhone 16, if so, I’ll definitely be sold.

It’s just a 6.7 display. I have a 144Hz display at home and use an iPhone 6s. I don’t see it. In the store, the 120Hz on the pro max is barely noticeable on such a small screen. You will get used to it again very fast. Just saying

How does the 14 pro compare to the 15? I'm not sure which one to get for an upgrade
14 pro is a better choice as it has pro motion display, larger 48MP camera sensor, 3x lens, lidar scanner for good low light portraits, always on display but some people are experiencing greater degradation of batteries than previous iPhone generations. No one know if they rectified the battery degradation or is it still present in the 15 series.

I could have done $25.39 for a 15 or $5.99 a month for a 14 and the micro upgrades on the 15 weren’t worth it and I couldn’t see any difference in the photos. Maybe because I’ve been using the 6S plus camera. If there was a difference it doesn’t matter to me! 😊

For me, the lack of a high refresh rate dispaly is the reason i’m sticking with my 14. I wished Apple would have given the 15 lineup atleast a 90hz display because that would have been the trigger for people to upgrade even if they had the 14 series

The back of iPhone 15 yes is mate but you can't see the logo clearly , for me that's very important
The dynamic iland is disturbing annoying sometimes that why I still love my brand new iPhone 13 , the specs very semilar to 14 , and the back logo is very clear I used clear case always ❤❤❤❤❤

Hey thanks for taking a look at the regular 15 and not just the pro like everybody does and somebody commented down the line that you should compare the 15 to the 12 and I got to agree with that there's really no reason to upgrade every year but 3 to 4 years is definitely an even five would be the optimum so comparing the iPhone 12 would actually be a good one

Currently have an Iphone 11. Tempted to upgrade to either the 14 or 15. I'm big into photography. I have a very nice Sony camera I like to use but it is nice to have a nice camera on the phone. That alone is making me want to spend the extra $100 on the 15. With my 11 I get people amusing I took the picture with my sony camera and when I tell them it was my phone they don't believe me. XD
Going with a black 15 for lighter weight, brighter screen and USB. My 13pro battery isn’t doing too well these days and it has always felt like a brick when running. Will prob miss promotion for a little while but worth a try

Great review - the iPhone 14's photos were warmer and had more vibrant colors than the iPhone 15. I would pick 14's photos in a blind test.

i love my 12 pro still. the 15 is interesting to me because of cinematic mode & the dynamic island is aesthetically pleasing to me. so from this video i'm getting that i should wait 1 more year to upgrade.
I'd keep your 12 pro, it's still an amazing device plus you'll have to spend a lot of money for the 15 even after you sell the 12. At the end of the day the iOS experience is 99% the same & the novelty of a new phone will be gone in a few weeks. I have a 13...

My 15 is piece of junk. Screen is very laggy. Opening up apps, scrolling it’s terrible. Sticking with my 14 pro and returning the 15 first thing in the morning

If you look closely the bezel on the 15 looks just a tiny bit thinner than the 14

I don't know what it feels like to upgrade to a new phone, cuz I've been using iphone 7+ for the past 5years and last month it's not working anymore. Right now, I'm just using public computers and waiting for a miracle cuz I'm still a student with a bunch of stuffs to pay for. So basically, I can't buy a new phone or prioritize the phone than my bills.

Would you recommend 15 for the first time iPhone buyer? Or 14?
ultimately comes down the price and the deal for you. Unless you think the camera, usb c, dynamic island features are important to you. If you don't care for those, save yourself money and go the with the 14. For example where I live on trade up the 14 can be had for $7 a month which is extremely good value.
upgrading from my samsung after 5 years. used to have iphone until usb-c became a thing. and now that usb-c is a thing on iphone, it's worth a upgrade for me. hopefully it will last me another 3-5 years

The dynamic island is cool enough and the screen brightness increase is a sneaky good improvement. This is really good upgrade for anyone with an iPhone 13 or older.
The iPhone 13 is a really good phone. Would not recommend an upgrade from the iPhone 13 until and unless you really love the camera.

I have a iPhone 13 and I also no longer have apple care its still a great phone. If I was to upgrade and something that would last a while would you get the 14 or the 15? Even just a 13 was a big upgrade for me and my parents I had the XR and they had the 6s lol.
If you were to upgrade, get a 15, because the 14 basically has no upgrades over the 13

Absolutely it will. Even though standard iPhone 13 and 14 comes with A15, 14 is expected to get 1 iOS update more than the 13

@@martinblazek1090 iPhones 5s (2013) and newer, all got atleast 6 years of iOS updates. iPhone 6s is the exception which got 7 years of iOS support. Historically speaking, iPhone 15 will definitely get 5 years of software support, most probably 6 years.
