Its not headgasket issues on the corsa VXR's. Its the 4th piston that melts, lots of speculation on what causes it. Had it happen to mine too
mine had it too, probably running too lean on cilinder 4 because of a design error on the fuel rail
It’s when they get smashed about with low fuel. Because cylinder 4 is the furthest away it doesn’t get enough and melts it’s self
So if u have a full tank all the time your good ?

Calvin I watched the first VXR you posted and went out to buy one for myself which I've own since Feb 2017. These cars are a lot of fun the over-boost function still gives me an adrenaline shot. best advice is to get forged pistons coz they melt(P4). Glad I saw your video back then I have no regret buying a Corsa OPC as we call em in South Africa. Keep em vids rolling.

Anything 300bhp+ is rarely useable on the roads nowadays, they're too congested,you will only appreciate a real high power machine in the early hours when the roads are dead,plus these type of cars you can drive to the limit which makes it more fun
Temp Gauge: On your wiper stalk, press the button on the end 4 times and hold it on the 4th press. Wait 10secs till your mileage changes. Press the button a further 5 times and theres your temperature.
Does it show on LE’s too?
@@DomWayne if you have the trip computer coupled with button on the end of the wiper stalk I don't see any reason why it shouldn't... I've never owned an LE so couldn't say, but I have had an SRI and VXR and they work on both of them anyway.
FYI You can also press the mileage reset button in the same sequence as explained above, it does the same as the end of the stalk but it's easier to press the stalk.
It does work on the LE too i can confirm as ive had both 😀
My current history: Toyota Aygo at 17 (Cheap to run) Volkswagen Golf GT Sport TDI (Nice upgrade after 4.5 years of the 1.0 Aygo, 2.0 TDI but had too many problems being a Mk5, next had a Vauxhall Corsa SRI 1.4 (nice, reliable but wanted more power.
Upgraded in March to Corsa vxr. Hands down best car I've ever owned! For the price cannot beat them. Paid £4695 for 2010 with 87,000 stock car. So far good as gold not seen any issues, quick, parts reasonable cheap if something did go wrong, and lots of fun cannot get anything near the experience and power around that price with comparable year and specs

CarlosFandango it’s post film editing that makes the colours look different I think bud. He adds a colour correction to change the colours. I don’t think it’s a filter on a camera or a particular camera.

VXRS would be absolute machines if it weren't for piston four and if the gear box was a little stronger they would be on the top spot for hot hatches i think. Very fun little cars.

No that was a front facing cam that takes pick of driver and number plate has red filter on it
Camera's don't work here in the UK. There's a very small percentage that do. Fly past a camera over 100mph on a 40 and they still don't flash.
A car with a dsg box is gonna be a fair few quid more ,

What court case mate?
There’s a way of bringing up the temperature, and normally just a bad temperature sensor that causing it to run hotter than it should. Cheap part, cheap fix, gear box on the other hand is a difference story.
I always wanted one for the looks...but the performance was slower than 6.8! My clio 182 kicked arse....compared....thats all!

P4 is due to injectors just put astra vxr injectors in and you're fine

Astra vxr's are a world away from a shitty corsa vxr, personally prefer astra h vxr but the gtc is good too and handles better than the h

Head gaskets aren’t any issue on these, and they don’t overheat.
The issues are the piston 4 known issue, and the M32 Chocolate gearbox. Get a lot of bad rap but piston 4 tends to only go on remapped cars done by questionable places.

Nearly bought Mazda 3 mps on a couple of occasions. Gearboxes are horrible and they'll eat tyres faster than they drink petrol. Definitely quick and fun though.

the standard one was there a big difference in power do you think it’s worth doing or am I better keeping it standard? Any information/advice would be appreciated

another great video used to have a astra sri - capri 2.0 s o and a opel manta gte all top fun cars got mr2 mk3 roadster now carnt beat the old school cars there more fun !

I had Corsa d sxi sri and black edition I'm vauxhall nut but there dog slow. The polos far superior fast with only 3 cylinder engines couldn't belive how good it was. Corsa vxr needs 1.6 turbo get it moving

Lee Sawyer for me. Type R. I’m just such a big VTEC fan and I love EP3’s. But that aside. Front wheel drive sports hatch are all a laugh whatever they are.
Do a review on the corsa E vxr see if you think there's a difference.

notmanynamesleft The corsa D runs quite warm from factory at around 100 degrees to help with emissions so they didn’t add a gauge to scare drivers. That’s what I’ve read a few times anyway.

Chrisclair I’d hazard a guess that your corsa is a 13 plate or onwards. There was rumours that vaux even went to the lengths of knocking them temp gauge down by 10c.
Corsa VXRs aren't bad cars, but I've driven a few and I'm not their biggest fan. It also doesn't help like I a fast Ford 😂As always Calvin, cool video 👍

what is the difference between the 2 exhaust Corsa vxr from the triangle Corsa vxr exhaust and what's better to buy
Twin exhaust tips for a corsa vxr will only be on a Nurburgring or club sport from factory with a bit extra power. Triangle style is just a design for the diffuser with a small triangle tip behind it, it’s totally up to yourself as both have the same issues with reliability unless it’s well looked after or forged

I got a 1.4 sxi for my first car and it feels like a golf cart so easy to handle
I'd want one but that chocolate gearbox really puts me off. I've a strong left arm and have messed up my 1.8 Corsa C gear linkage twice now.
Just bought a Nurburgring edition a month ago, love the car honestly! Drove a normal corsa VXR and wasn’t that impressed but the Nurburgring was during felt much tighter and I bought it there and then!😂

Corsa burgs wasn't numbered from factory I think they only made 500 but owners on the vxronline done something so you could get it numbered seen something on the forum about it a while back

Astra vxr is a nicer car, but I wouldn’t buy one, I would rather have a focus st. U can’t beat a 2.5 5 pot that sounds like an old school Audi Quattro.👍

Just got my 2010 MK2 ST back from Dreamscience in Hull, it's incredible. I was going to buy a 2017 ST, but very glad I didn't. Although, it was difficult to find a good MK2 ST. Here's what I had done to it:
Stage 3+ package.
DSCI intake with orange Hoses.
Black DSCI intercooler.
3” Turbo back Exhaust with Decat. (resonated)
440cc injectors.
RS ECU Holder.
Mod-XRS Remap. (320BHP)
Forge Actuator.
Forge recirc.

@@kristianspencer1978 Much better than the MK1. The RS defuser and spoiler are really nice, but planning on just keeping it completely stock, except for what's underneath.
Looking forward to seeing what the new ST is like, when it's released. The MK2 is a bit of a riot, but that's why it's fun.

Had an Astra (2014) and now have a Corsa (2015), yep, the Astra IS the better car.
Some really basic cheap things the Astra had, the Corsa has not, something that I just don't understand.
