Part 10: • Bert Kreischer on Why ...
Part 1: • Bert Kreischer on Bein...
    --------
In this clip, Bert Kreischer spoke about his first Netflix special ‘Secret Time,’ and noted that he saw his friends blow up from Netflix specials, while other friends dropped specials that didn’t create too much hype. Kreischer then talked about his comment on Kevin Hart, saying he wouldn’t be as successful if Dave Chappelle didn’t run off to Africa.
Bert Kreischer and Vlad then discussed Snoop Dogg, who they both worked with. Both said Snoop was the hardest working and most genuine person, which makes sense as to why he is successful.

funny kevin hart story: i was bartending at a dance club and behind the club, across an alley, was a 1000 seat theatre. we would get a lot of early business because the line was long and service was shit and the prices were high at the theatre bar. so, i was opening the bar one day and aware there was a comedy show at the theatre and i was prepping for some early bird custies. i was cutting limes or whatever, and i was aware of the door guy (who was early for his shift and not on the clock yet) having an extended conversation with a short, loud, super animated black dude with those jeans with bedazzled pockets- which is a huge deal breaker for me, i really can't fuck with people that wear those jeans lol so anyways after a looooooooooooong conversation with the door guy (the bar had literally zero customers at this point) the dude approached the bar. he could barely see over it lol. he asked me about vodka i think, and i asked if the door guy had carded him, since he wasn't yet on shift. the club i worked at was a huge target of the OLCC and the owners were maniacal about identification. the dude gave me this stank face look and was like "no, he didn't card me- you don't know who the fuck I am?" i was like, no sorry, are you a friend of the doorguy? he was like, "you know there is a sold out comedy show tonight right?" and i was like, "look dude, i dont know who the fuck you are but i gotta see ID, there's cameras, we got heat on us, the owners, blahblahblah. he basically was like, "damn are you some sort of racist? (i had a shaved head at the time)" and i was like, "look homie, the only thing i discriminate against is people with embossed denim jeans and people with no ID so i'm sorry bruh you gotta go." at this point the door guy came over and started to say something to the effect of "its chill, he's good" but i cut him off and reminded him we'd both get fired instantly if the owner knew i served without ID. the little dude was pissed, literally like "yOu DoN't KnOw WhO i Am?" style and i was like "bruh i got limes to cut, i'm sorry dude i can't serve you." he asked me "have you ever heard of the comedian kevin hart?" and i was like "yeah sure, he has a show tonight." and he was like "have you ever seen his movies?" and i was like "nah its not my thing." and he was like "fuck your racist ass, i'm out!" and stormed out like an oompa lumpa. after he left, the door guy was like, "yo, dude, you just 86'd kevin hart" and LMFAO i truly had no clue

Steve Martin only got a movie career because he was a big deal as a stand up comic back in the mid-late 70s. He was selling out stadiums and putting out platinum albums as a stand up comic.

@@erickennedy5993 To a far lesser degree, IMO. I feel like it was more simultaneous for Hart.
But I was more pushing back on the notion of marginalizing Steve Martin's standup career. lol Martin was a MUCH bigger deal as a standup and far more established than Kevin Hart was when he really broke out in movies. Martin was huge on the standup scene in the 70s, make no mistake about it.

Bert just explained what I call the Bernie Sanders effect...Not a diss...but in 15/16...A lot people didnt know Bernie....then there is an incident in Maine, I believe, where a mic is pulled while he's talking...he tells the young lady you dont know me...I marched with MLK....all of a sudden people researched Bernie...protest pictures pop up, his drivers license when he was arrested for protesting desegregation....and then all of these old clips of him in Congress pop up making him look like a unheard hero...yup I say it's similar
