I'd rather wake up freezing than sweating. We had a freeze come through houston a few months ago and my house lost power in the middle of the night. My bedroom got down to 40°F and I was just chillin in my underwear under a thin blanket. I didn't even wake up because of the cold, my parents came in to tell me we were going to my grandparents since they still had power lmao
I learned my love for the cold when I went camping lol but I rather deal with the hot than the cold. The water hits different after being soaking wet from the sweat lmao
Thank you Ben, very insightful and we do appreciate this and you 🙏💌❣ 🌳
Went to Fort Jackson, SC in the summer in 2006. I did 7 yrs in Active Duty. Transfer to the reserves in 2014. I’m currently still in the reserves.
He’s right about not going in the winter, I went there from November to February, it was 34 degrees during our crucible.
Yup November to February in 09 at ft Benning. It got into the single didgets. You have to use the penguin technique and of course woobie nation.
Marvelous Sir your video .. thank you for sharing.. Enjoy it
Great video brother, you work very hard for your channel and just keep it up, you are the strongest 🦾❤️.
Greetings from Europe🇭🇷
I was September 14th and graduated the day before thanksgiving 2015 at fort jackson
Perfect timing , never got to deal with brutal cold temps. Plus hurricane season at the beginning ruined red phase haha
I'll be going to basic soon can't wait 😎
Yass,I ship to fort jackson on 23rd may, you're videos have been very helpful,I'm going as a 92y active duty
I’m shipping out August 16 at Fort Sill so lucky for me 😂
Very helpful video!
I’d say fall would be the best time. I was at Ft Leonard Wood half of Feb, March and April, the mornings would be 30 degrees and they be telling us summer PTs, and Rain on every event, but when it wasn’t it was fine weather. I was in Jackson for May and June, it be humid. Not sunny where the sun burns but like at least 80% humidity everyday. I be taking shower in the morning after PT and still come out sweating, it was the worst feeling. Just to let y’all know
can't wait for basic I'm from west Texas so I'm use to this dry heat so I hope I go in summer lol
I shipped out to navy RTC September 29th. I graduated in early December and by thanksgiving we were only practicing drill for graduation. So I went home for Christmas and my family was able to see me on thanksgiving. We ate at Denny’s! It was the best meal I ever had! I almost got in trouble for smoking when I was off base but I blamed it on my family. It was close though 😂
Gotta agree with knight here, sure Denny's might sound sad, but there's nothing else like eating with your one and only family (: especially after being sent off to training or orders!
Thank God bc I’m getting shipped out Aug 23 and I’ll be at Fort Sill
Fort Jackson July 11, 2022 anyone else?
I ship to fort sill September 20th, I'm a oregon boy so even tho I hate the cold I rather do hard work in the cooler weather
Did 21 years Army. I did vasic at Knox in July. Hot. Grew up in VA so it wasn't terrible. Being in the desert for the past 20 years I would take the cold of the Dmz over the heat of Iraq.
Benning be cold AS FUCK but it only sucks cuz the Drill sergeants don’t let u put on cold weather gear would definitely recommend it tho
Shipping to ft benning tomorrow. Can’t wait for 95 degree days in the swamp😅
My son left this week for basic this week to Fort Sill OK. As of today he’s still in reception
gotta agree hate winter in jackson but now im in lee for 92g ait 6 week in 2 week left till i go to bliss yay
For Fort lost in the woods I went in February and that was great
Shipping out to fort Jackson in 10days, can't wait for the adventure to begin 😁😁
I honestly had no clue how cold San Diego would be in February
I just went through Fort Leornard Wood from November to February. That was beyond miserable! My AIT is in San Antonio during the summer. 😥
I went during the winter, our drills didn’t let us use our cold weather gear. With that being said, I would much rather sweat my balls off during the summer, than freeze my ass off during the winter😂
I’m shipping the 16th and I’m from the Caribbean I love the sun that’s my battle buddy Amma be just fine
Well from experience, the best time is to ship out in Spring. Do your training in summer and you will enjoy the forests as you train. Training in winter sucks, as it is wet and cold and windy. For you Infantry Ranger / Commando types, yes the summer schools are far better! Nothing sucks more than Ranger or Commando or LRSU school in the winter in the cold wet and hypothermia danger to boot.
Fort Ben cold asf rainy
It’s good for running thought the cold but I didn’t know it’s the worst people say winter is best if ya in South Carolina near fort Jackson
I ship out in May 16! wish me luck
I’m reentering back in the army under a re code 3 waiver went to benning in 2019 of November it sucked im going to Jackson this summer got told end of July in to August is the best time to go
Went to fort jackson from jan -march winter it fucking sucked!😂 im from texas and will never complain about the heat ever again in the Heat you can cool your body to me atleast its alot harder to warm up your body especially during FTX. DS also dont let you wear your winter gear sometimes which makes it worse.
I think of it like,"you can always put more layers on but you can't always take more layers off" so I prefer the cold.(I'm from Houston Texas)
@@bruhbwoi3618 yeah bro but the worst part about basic you couldnt wear any layers unless they told you too which was very rare lol
Leaving for fort Jackson army august 9th
As an infantryman at fort benning if you go in the winter you will be sleeping on the ground getting rained on 30ish - 40ish degrees wet sleep deprivation and exhausted....it sucks.. Summer you have the heat but drink lots of water eat lots of salt to retain water and ur good. I was a winter soldier trust me dont do it you will hate your life.
I’m going for prior service training at ft benning soon it’s going to be so cold 😅
I leave for fort sill in less then a month. My number one objective is to just survive this summer and not to get heat stroke.
Im going to fort Leonard wood September 26 for basic
Taking the asvab Tuesday want to leave as soon as possible
Recently I thought about going into the army as a reserve because I needed to get out of my parents house being 25 rn and just working and saving money for a house, it was mostly because I needed to meet new people. Now ik some will say age don’t matter but being that it’s recommended u start way younger than later in your life, it’s not the best image for a 25 year old like myself to start late. If I was 17-18 years old I woulda said yes cuz I was lot more physically active. The Asvab I struggled in HS taking and ik it’s a low score, so ik for a fact I would struggle with it again if I wanted to retake it
I was in a similar boat. I'm 24 and joined this year. I'll be 25 in a few months. Honestly your age doesn't matter. Yes you're older, but also wiser and more mature than a 17 year old. You've experienced some civilian life already and want to try something different, so just go for it. Forget what anyone else says about how it looks. If it's something you want to do then start that process now instead of waiting for the right time. There is no right time to start... This is your life we're talking about and it already started 25 years ago. A few things I'd recommend. If you want to get away from your parents house and meet new people, go active duty instead of reserves. If your goal is to buy a house you have better opportunities to do that faster if you're active(you have to wait 6 years in reserves for a VA home loan, or have completed 90 days as active duty). Start studying for your asvab now and focus on math and reading portions youtube has great study videos and you can score high if you apply yourself. Start working out now and continue during your entire enlistment process. Start with easy workouts, then increase the difficulty as you get closer to your ship date. Be sure to stretch every chance you get because we aren't 18 anymore... Again, it's your life don't worry about what the naysayers will think, because at the end of it all you're the only one who will be held accountable for your own choices and the last thing you want to do is regret not doing something that could've helped you achieve your goals. Life back home will continue with or without you. Good luck!
my guy i am 22 now going in.... also the record for the oldest rookie was like 40 or 50 something he retired but wanted to go back in with his son so he had to redo boot camp
Shipping out to Fort Benning on September 27, 24 weeks of osut.
I’m shipping September 13th to Ft Leonard Wood. I’m also staying there for AIT.
Anyone here know If I have to redo the full physical all over again if I ship out on August but physical will expire on July?
How long is leave for winter (Christmas time)?
June 27th Fort Benning
Leaving to BCT in fort jackson, in 2 days
I'm going october 23rd. I know I'll be fine because I love the cold.
I did basic in Ft. Sill from March to July. When I arrived there was snow on the ground and when I left it was starting to heat up.
@@dylankeel2823 you'll get some heat but just drink lots of water and remember that 100's of thousands before you have gone through the same training and survived. Best of luck to you!
@@dylankeel2823 also don't be the guy that is always broke and don't ever let anyone borrow money, you'll never get it back. Open an IRA account and deposit $50 a month, I recommend USAA bank.
@@visible2anyoneonyoutube Thanks man. I already got a Navy Federal account open. And I plan to put about 1/4 - 1/2 of every check in savings
I’m trying to loose weight to be able to go I’m 240. 6.1 age is 21
I’m kinda hopping to get there by end of summer.
I was 230 6'1 with 32, I just change my eating routine. Go down in portions a Don't eat after 19:00. Do cardio before breakfast, is hard u will get use to it, u have to do it here anyway.
Right now is the best time
Don’t you get the holidays off for winter tho ? My sis came back for 2 weeks
I ship to Fort Benning August 16th! Got right in the sweet spot 😂
No you didn't you'll graduate in February, and you'll do your ftx in the freezing cold
Can you do a 2022 ASVAB study guide please. I’m going soon and it would really help
I’ve been out of school for 3 years, only brushed up on long division and got a 70. I had a 2.6 GPA in high school. You got this.
@@joshuaammons7325 just coz u got this doesn’t mean everyone else does 😂 i didn’t know how to subtract and do simple things without a calculator had around the sam gpa as u. my geuss is grammar hero will help with studying. u must of already known some stuff.
I need to get an 88 to even qualify for the MOS that i want as a firefighter. Which is why i asked. Thankfully with his older video and my recruiter's suggestion I've downloaded the apps to study. Just wanted to see if there is any new suggestions from him for the 2022.
shipping to Ft Leonard Wood June 6th!! 😁
Nice good luck to you Lei I did basic in Leonard Wood bak in 2018 graduated December 14th Delta 3-10 was my company. It's gonna be tuff at times but you'll be fine belive me. Just try to have fun with your training
@@anythingandeverything1303 thank you!!! i’m actually really looking forward to it. i love a good challenge ☺️

@@marcusguimaraes4889 good luck bro embrace the suck and have fun when you can
Do you get to pick your ship date, I’m going to meps soon and want to be leave for osut around august
There is different classes depending on your job you can choose which ship date out of the ship dates they have available.

I ship out in 5days🤟🏾 ft Jackson

Ship out from meps sep 17th fort sill 68w
I ship sept 18th, Fort Jackson. 😫 excited/nervous for sure. 🥲

If I ship out in october I will be very unlucky
