    My version of Tree Hut's Sugar Scrub. My customers love this, I can't keep it in stock.

    This looks fantastic! I love the consistency of it. The fragrance sounds lovely and such a nice summer fragrance. I don't have Cetyl or Gum yet, those are on my list to be purchased.
    I appreciate you sharing! The visual through the stages of things is very helpful for me.

    What IS the difference in being a member and or a Patreon member? I just started watching this. Thanks!

    • @TheSoapChef
      @TheSoapChef  Před měsícem

      The cost to join the membership is $7 and you will receive the recipe at the end of the video in the members only section. The cost to join the Patreon is the same. However, you get a PDF downloadable file with the recipe and instructions, because there is no way to attach a pdf file here on CZcams. I also throw in all kinds of information over on Patreon in either a word doc or a PDF file. Really good helpful information about a variety of topics to help you in your journey of making Bath and body products

    Tara's formula is a true tree hut dupe though which was the point. Your formula in the last video did not appear to produce the same experience in terms of texture and elasticity but this video it does appear similar which is interesting! Did you modify the forumula at all? Your formula sounds great for shipping and hot weather events as well as budget! It's nice to have different options.

      @@brittnicbee yes, I understood the assignment. As I continue to said, I really liked the consistency of it, I loved working with the silica. That texture is awesome. My sole reason for not jumping on that ingredient is cost, and the fact that it melts in hot weather like today when it’s in the 90s and I have an event to do. No, I have not modified my own recipe in the least. My recipe today is the same as it has been for years now.

      @@TheSoapChef I'm just trying to figure out the difference in texture and elasticity between your scrub in this video and the last video because they are very different. This one seems perfect. You did say the other was a scrub you had sitting around for a long time so perhaps it was stored in a different climate/place? Trying to figure out how and where to store it if I make this formula to get the result in this video versus the other. I don't buy pdfs until I am confident I can replicate and store and get exactly the same results. Just wondering because I am interested!

      @@brittnicbee the one that I compared in the first video had been at least six months old. The one that I made fresh in the following video, of course was fresh so yes, the consistency is going to be very different. The more any product sits, the more firm it becomes. I did say that my version is not exactly like tree huts, but it’s close to it. I understand that Tara did an absolute duplication of tree hut formula. That’s not what mine is. This is what I can say about mine, I love it, my customers love it, it absolutely does not melt in hot summer months such as today when it is 90°, and I am out at an event.

    Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. With using shea butter, will it melt if exposed to heat?

    • @TheSoapChef
      @TheSoapChef  Před měsícem

      Funny, you should ask that, I took one of the jars of the scrub I made of Tara Lee’s formula along with all of my own scrubs to an event I did last weekend. Temperatures got up to the high 80s. My scrub showed no signs of deterioration. Unfortunately, Tara Lee’s scrub did show signs of melting. I actually took a side by side pic of mine and hers. You can clearly see hers is melting.

      @@TheSoapChef thank you for your reply! That had me questioning since shea butter was used. Do you think using cocoa butter would result in the same consistency as yours? I want to try cocoa butter but I'm unsure if it would be a bit harder.

    • @TheSoapChef
      @TheSoapChef  Před měsícem +1

      It would be harder as cocoa butter is considered a hard butter and shea is considered to be soft.
