My husband had just come home from hospital after heart surgery, we flipped on CZcams and the first time I ever saw Friesian horses, it was the video of Uniek receiving Rising Star 🥰 I have been an ardent fan ever since that day! This truly is very exciting… I have a stupid question 😬 would Uniek possibly be able to raise this foal?? As I consider……… probably not 🤷🏼♀️
No. The foal would consider Coralle its mem. But, they all seem to gravitate towards Uniek anyway…. They, although mem and son/daughter, will be in the same herd and Stal and know Uniek as a herd mate and gentle authority figure. I would imagine, though, that being mem and ‘child’ they would be drawn to one another by pheromones, physical scent, and similar behavior. However, Coralle will overall have the raising of the foal and learn mainly from her. Coralle would HAVE to be a good mem. Otherwise, she would not be in such a prestigious organization.
The heartbreaking Unike story with her foal and the unfortunate mom of star was a lucky situation in that Uniek was lactating, it was at the right time and she accepted him... which made a great story. Out of a very tough situation.
As a former quarter breeder of champion quarter horses here in the US, we do this frequently….usually successful so, I’m sending a bunch of good wishes to the recipient mare!
Je n'avais pas compris pourquoi une 1ère fois, l'embryon était dans la matrice de la jument, puis, qu'il fallait l'en extraire pour ensuite le réimplanter...
Thank you for sharing this adventure with us! Uniek made a foal...Coralle will carry it. Such a special mem...to Rising Star when they were in need and now this new adventure ! Beautiful sire!!! I hope it works! ❤🐎
I wonder if manipulation of the embryo has anything to do with Belle's slow start. Just wondering. I love seeing these videos of Uniek again. Oh what a fabulous father. Uniek's calm and this stallion's beautiful strength, even magesty. Two majestic creatures to become sweet Belle Uniek. I love these horses. Thank you Yvonne for sharing your life with us. You have all become so special to me, all of us; your world-wide family. Much love coming your way!💜💜💜
Being able to do this is incredible! Safer for Uniek, safer for the foal, and we get to see it all! Yvonne, all these horses are in great hands with you, we know you’ll always do what’s best for them ❤️
It’s not her getting pregnant that was at issue, it was something else because they died after being born. Did they ever figure out what caused that? Uniek is such a good mother. She’s one who loves being a mom. I’m just sad she won’t get to be the mom, but super excited to have more of her line!
@@scrapykat3028it was the pregnancy, her first foal was born late if I recall correctly and the second born early. Both stillborn. It was likely due to different causes but hard to say, and I understand Yvonne not wanting to go through that stress again
@@MaureenYost i remember that. I was just wondering if they ever found out why. I love they can use a surrogate and I love even more is that Stahl H will care for that pregnant mare! How cool is that?!?
Aaaaaw, Unieks little baby 🥹 I didn't know that they can do this on horses as well, but I understand why. I understand why you want a foal from Uniek. She's such a beauty, both physical and temper. And wooooow, how stunning the father is 😍
Oh I do hope that people won't start being rude about this topic. I always thought it's kinda sad you won't have your own foal by Uniek, but that's a great way to be able to have one. It's so much better for Uniek and it shows you really care about her health. ❤
I came across your channel by accident. It’s very exciting to see the women doing all this work. I’m very impressed! I’m going to watch more. It was so sad to see the mare loose her baby Star but so happy she loved the other colt.😊
I am over the roof with joy for you Yvonne for trying this recipient mare Coralle to carry Uniek’s baby. In 5 days I hope you have the answer and dream you have been waiting for. 🙏🏽🤞🏾🤗 I reflected on Uniek’s past two foaling and it still hits a string then when Rising Star came to be her foal. She was so happy to be a mum. Now i am praying she will be a mum again through the help of Coralle. Best wishes and hope this new journey with be successful for you. 🤗🌻🙏🏽
Best wishes for a healthy, beautiful foal from 👑Uniek! Waander 512 is a handsome stallion. I’m so glad that you are choosing to do ET with her for both her & the foal’s health! I’ve heard of this procedure, and I think a surrogate mare is a wonderful solution! Coralle would also get the best of care at Stal H throughout the pregnancy. Personally, I’m rooting for a filly because a female would be able to stay at Stal H for her entire lifetime, but healthy is the most important part! 🥰❤️
For those who are interested- the KFPS has made wonderful videos of all recently approved stallions. There’s one featuring Waander 512. The video goes into his lineage in some detail. On his maternal side, he is a grandson of Beart 411 Sport Preferent & a great-grandson of the equally legendary King of the Stallions, Jasper 366 Sport Elite Preferent. Like Uniek & her line, Waander 512 has lots of feathers, intelligence & trainability! Yvonne has chosen a really good match for Uniek Kroon Sport!
If my legs would let me I'd be jumping up and down with joy! I wanted you to try something like this but i didn't feel like it was my business to tell you what to do with your own horses. I'm praying all goes well.
Actually kinda speechless but now I can come up with 1 word....Wow!! Might take me a day or so to reflect on this. 😮 Would be great to have Uniek be that wonderful mother that she is again. Daddy looks like a real stunner & that trot he has is spectacular..a real showman. The only question that I would have & maybe won't know until the time comes but will Uniek raise the baby as she did with Rising Star? But what if mare Coralle (very stunning beauty in her own right) is in love with it & wants the baby herself? Im sure you Yvonne has thought everything over & is confident that this is the right avenue but isnt this a big chance to take with so many players involved? Regardless it's amazing what science can do. Prayers to all in this miracle in the making. ❤
@@LindaEll89 Yes, there were many questions from those who didn't understand that Coralle was going to nurse and raise the foal until it was weaned. Very busy day yesterday!
It is amazing what the science can do, it’s a great and safer way to have a new foal with Uniek’s gene, I wish you a foal in the next year. Don’t worry about the comments Yvonne, you always make the best decisions for Uniek❤

@@marthakratz7877 yes, but not the last two times when her foals died, besides that she is an older horse with osteoarthritis so Yvonne didn’t want to put her through all this again which shows that she really has the well being of Unieke at heart.

WOW This is really exiting and surprising! I wonder how do you manage it, to keep such things secret. I really hope that it did work and we will see another foal from Uniek. It would be a little bit strage: The last foal she adopted and brought up was a Warmblood and than her new foal would be a Friesian foal born by a Warmblood mare. Yvonne, I remember when Greg Hammer was in The Netherlands for his visit, you took him along with some of the mods and administrators to see three STALS that had all of those beautiful Friedman Approved Studs. The first place that you stopped there was quite a bit of discussion about a Friedman foal carried by a surrogate mare and how the process was done. This is so exciting, A real foal from The Queen to be carried by another surrogate Mem. We are "OVER THE MOON WITH HAPPINESS".❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember seeing that video too, I thought of Uniek, but also that the expense may be out of reach for her. I am thrilled that she is able to do this and I hope it works. Hope it is a healthy Filly!
For the popular question… if successful, will the foal go to Uniek after birth?? The answer is no. Uniek will not produce any mothering hormones due to the fact that she is not pregnant. She will not produce milk. Coralle will have all of those hormones and therefore that job will be hers. Uniek will not be burdened by any distress from this because she will not have those hormones to kick in her maternal instincts. This is a good thing. I am sure coralle was carefully chosen and she would do a great job. This is new territory for everyone, including Yvonne. Everyone will learn as we go so let’s keep watching to see what happens next! 🧡🧡
I didn't know that this technology was available for horses. I am very excited for Yvonne and Uniek. I really hope that the surrogate mare accepts the embryo. That stallion is absolutely fantastic!❤❤😊
It is, and we have been doing this with AQHA horses for quite a few years now. The IUT success rate for mares is much higher than for human transferes. Our success rate this fall is 94%, which is quite high.
It's done more and more commonly with the most valuable animals. Artificial insemination or surrogacy, basically the "handmaid's tale" scenario where another woman carries the baby to be given to the biological parents after he or she is born, is absolutely never morally acceptable for humans of course.
@@ElizabethDMadisoni disagree that it’s always morally wrong for humans, when my cousin and his wife we’re struggling to have children I volunteered to be a surrogate for them. Fortunately they succeeded in having a child (and now a second) but if they hadn’t I would have been perfectly happy to help them. There are many cases of close friends and family helping loved ones this way. I agree it shouldn’t be a commercialized thing but for those you live it can be a tremendous gift that brings a family even closer together
@@platedlizard I believe strongly that it's morally important for procreation to happen through faithful and exclusive marital intimacy. Otherwise baby-making becomes a commercial and technical procedure available in wealthy countries or to wealthy people that's contrary to everyone's dignity and to the natural and morally sacred physical bond of not only the spouses but even the mother and baby. Adoption is a beautiful and completely natural option. We need to strongly say no to using technologies developed for breeding animals to do unnatural things with human procreation.
This feels like another fairytale.
Uniek lost her foal and her saving grace was fostering a warmblood (Rising Star) and now another Warmblood is helping her bring a biological foal of hers into this world.

@@kimhollenbeck1308 Yep, but genetically Waander and Uniek. 🤗
The heartbreaking Unike story with her foal and the unfortunate mom of star was a lucky situation in that Uniek was lactating, it was at the right time and she accepted him... which made a great story. Out of a very tough situation.
I don't understand why you don't put the mare and stallion together and let them do it naturally.
Coralle, our wonderful surrogate mother is doing a super job with Belle. Much love and good wishes for all at Stall H.
As a former quarter breeder of champion quarter horses here in the US, we do this frequently….usually successful so, I’m sending a bunch of good wishes to the recipient mare!
The polo pony people take it even farther. They clone, then use surrogates to get copies of top polo ponies.
That's great to hear!
Je n'avais pas compris pourquoi une 1ère fois, l'embryon était dans la matrice de la jument, puis, qu'il fallait l'en extraire pour ensuite le réimplanter...
@@cB3n.5jBtAA9.-a Because they didn't want Uniek to possibly lose another foal or worse, so they implanted into another horse to carry the baby
Thank you for sharing this adventure with us! Uniek made a foal...Coralle will carry it. Such a special mem...to Rising Star when they were in need and now this new adventure ! Beautiful sire!!! I hope it works! ❤🐎
So happy for you all! This will be amazing!!
Have you been able to ride Uniek again?
You were and are right concerning Uniek. I am so happy for you and for your best friend Uniek!!! ❤️💙❤️💙👑🌤️✨☀️🌹
Much love coming your way!💜💜💜
Congrats Yvonne and Uniek! I hope the recipient mare can safely carry Uniek’s foal! Very exciting!
Truly exciting indeed!!!!!
Fascinating to watch. The whole process was done quite quickly!! Fingers crossed we have a foal 🤞🐴
The recipient will raise the foal as well, not just carry the foal during pregnancy.
@@LindaEll89 Goed idee. Of bij een toekomstig bericht als we horen of de embryo door Coralle is geaccepteerd.
@@scrapykat3028 Uniek's last foal was premature and didn't even have hair, yet.
@@MaureenYost thank you for more details…
@@scrapykat3028it was the pregnancy, her first foal was born late if I recall correctly and the second born early. Both stillborn. It was likely due to different causes but hard to say, and I understand Yvonne not wanting to go through that stress again

Aaaaaw, Unieks little baby 🥹
I didn't know that they can do this on horses as well, but I understand why. I understand why you want a foal from Uniek. She's such a beauty, both physical and temper.
And wooooow, how stunning the father is 😍
Great to see you, Geertje! Thanks for supporting Yvonne! Hope all is well with you and your family!
Geertje made a special video even more meaningful…we never see enough of her! 💕
I too was happy to see Geertje today. I’ve been missing her lovely smiling face.
Agreed, I have missed Geertje also and was concerned by her absence in case anything was wrong. Glad to see you back on camera and I hope all's well!
I always enjoy seeing Geertje in the videos, she is a wonderful person and friend! ❣
The miracle of life, starting from this tiny embryo is amazing.

How delightful that another Queen Uniek foal may be born!

He is HANDSOME!❤
This was the best idea ever! Much health to everyone!
Wow! A Beautiful Mum and an Awesomely handsome Dad!!😍😍
If my legs would let me I'd be jumping up and down with joy! I wanted you to try something like this but i didn't feel like it was my business to tell you what to do with your own horses. I'm praying all goes well.
I know this video was made a while ago so I hope the next installment of this beautiful story comes out sooooon, please!🥰
I'm sure that Yvonne will answer these questions in future videos.
@LindaEll89
I'm sorry I misunderstood & not obvious to me at the start. Guess I was looking at it through a human perspective.
@@LindaEll89 Yes, there were many questions from those who didn't understand that Coralle was going to nurse and raise the foal until it was weaned. Very busy day yesterday!
Happy birthday Coralle! So happy you became a part of Stal H and the herd. 🎈🥕🍎🎁
Very happy...Goodnight Mary🥰
It is amazing what the science can do, it’s a great and safer way to have a new foal with Uniek’s gene, I wish you a foal in the next year. Don’t worry about the comments Yvonne, you always make the best decisions for Uniek❤
👍 💯% agree! 😊
Totally agree that Yvonne always looks out for Uniek’s best life!!!
All of the comments I have read are supportive. This is becoming a common procedure in the US. She is not going to put Uniek in danger.
When Y kept saying she didn’t want the 👑 to be pregnant, I’m thinking, “then why is she doing this?”🧐 Then, it dawned on me what was coming down and I’m duh, “they do that?! 😳 I hope it’s a girl! 🥰” I never ever, ever doubt Uniek is #1 in all of Y’s decisions!

Wow, this was very interesting to watch, thank you so much for sharing it with us! I am so exited about having a foal from Unieke but on the other hand I am saddened that Unieke herself is denied motherhood because she was such a good mother to RS but I fully understand why you won’t risk having her carry a foal anymore. I wish you success with the surrogate in producing a beautiful Unieke foal for you! 👍❤️😊🙏🏻
I think I read that Uniek had previously carried foals to term.
@@marthakratz7877 yes, but not the last two times when her foals died, besides that she is an older horse with osteoarthritis so Yvonne didn’t want to put her through all this again which shows that she really has the well being of Unieke at heart.
I know what you mean. She was such a good and protective mother to Risey all the way to the end when RS was finally weaned the second time because she loved him so much.

They are choosing surrogacy. Uniek was inseminated, so the embryo has her genetics, but was flushed out and implanted in another mare to carry

WOW This is really exiting and surprising!
I wonder how do you manage it, to keep such things secret.
I really hope that it did work and we will see another foal from Uniek.
It would be a little bit strage:
The last foal she adopted and brought up was a Warmblood and than her new foal would be a Friesian foal born by a Warmblood mare.
It ist also so interesting to learn so much about horse breeding - nit only by a book but in reality with so good declarations.
