- We visit MHP Murder House Productions home haunt located in Thousand Oaks Ca. and get a behind the scenes tour of their scary walkthrough maze for some DIY Halloween prop ideas. This inspiring haunted attraction "show and tell" is so detailed and informative anyone that either calls themselves a home haunter or those thinking of making a homemade haunted house and starting their own home haunt are sure to learn some new tips and tricks. This year's Halloween walkthrough has a new original theme called "RESURRECTION" which takes place in the ruins of Milbury Farms and it looks scary! This video may give you some spoilers but we tried to still leave most of the story details for you to enjoy if you experience the haunt for yourself. This video mainly focuses on the design and fabrication process for all the scenic art, props and set dressing, as well as special effects. You will learn the haunted house layout design and some easy to do diy tricks to fill each space. We even learned some great haunted house ideas if you are on a budget. Learn different ways to scare and create multiple hide scare zones. See immersive rooms that have sensory overload with textured floors, smells, and objects completely surrounding you. The haunt is filled with unique elements that include, complete darkness, crouching and ducking, narrow pathways and loud intense environments. Street parking is free. They will be posting LIVE wait times on their Instagram throughout the event. We would like to thank Aurora and Kyle for not only their hospitality and time but for being so open to share their experience and opinions with all of us. They are great examples of people that have a real passion for this hobby and are willing to help others and inspire. The best one I went through (as a teen), I went with my dad and was holding his hand, he let go for a second and I walked on, got scared and turned to him and found I was holding the grim reapers hand! My dad lost it laughing at me as I couldn't breath and freaked out. The reaper thought it was great too!

Didn't even notice it because it's too much the same color as the wig, so it just looks like more hair. I guess my nursing cadaver class just kicked in, sorry. The cording should be cream colored with burgundy blood to set it apart from the hair.

That was incredible! I enjoyed the walk through so much. I really think Aurora is an inspiration to home haunts. I love that she wrote the story and is so passionate about her creation. I'm very impressed by the thought and work that was put into this. I have some feedback about the volume though, the camera man's voice is often overwhelmingly loud and the child is quite loud sometimes, which made it hard for us to really listen to Aurora. I appreciate your love for haunted house attractions like this. I think some sound editing would help. Maybe a microphone that is clipped on the cameraman's pants so it doesn't sound like he is talking right into the camera. Just some suggestions.
Thanks J L we are definitely not pros when it comes to our film making skills. We just shoot everything on our phones on the fly unplanned and in one take. Some day we need to take the time to plan and make better quality videos. Been saying that for years 🤣 Thanks for the feedback. 👍

Don't know for sure but its most likely your standard 1x3 Hollywood style wall flat or a 2x2 framed wall panel locked together and possibly braced across the top.
Im always curious what all you haunters do for a living, you all seem to live in really nice homes and are able to afford your haunts at the same time. Im slimer green Jello :)

I stopped building elaborate haunts as they were getting too expensive and our community only allowed it for two hours on Halloween. Wasn't worth it anymore.

I did the exact trees but sorry to say...mine looks way better. You need to do it all black first and then add browns, then highlight with gray. This one is far too flat brown. After crinkling the paper, I glued it on, then added cream colored masking tape running vertical and crunched it randomly too. Mine looks like actual bark. Then I sprayed a matt varnish to protect it and hard coat it. This is floppy. But hey, in the dark you aren't looking at details. I'm too detaily.
You should make a vid and share your expertise with the rest of all of us so we can all make such detailed trees.

I ACTUALLY HAVE ONE of the REAL books of the DEAD...My GREAT -GREAT Grandfather was a MASON, AND IT WAS LEFT TO ME...I have had TONS OF MONEY OFFERED for it, but never will, because it is BINDED AND STORED on a Holy, Sacred place...It is also made from human skin!
How beautiful, lovely and exquisite. If I was female and looked like that, I would be in Los Angeles or wherever being a model and/or actress making A LOT of money. She has a great voice, too. She was probably never properly encouraged and supported. What a waste. Beauty like hers should be shared with the world.
