Sydney should have just came in with a character that used the +1 staff that dropped from Bolan. Save herself some gold and grief.
"FERALLYARANDOMNUMBERGENERATINGNEEDS!" -Joe
if you listen close, when he says "i didn't even feel it" francis or somebody off screen get the giggs teehee
Love the Buggles Lore.
a few months ago there was a guy on the subreddit griping about buggles being boring because he wasnt doing kewl epic karate heroics like lucky and zephyr. even then it seemed like a buckwild take, but at this point idk how buggles cant be everyone favorite PC in this campaign
Let us never forget about #bowgate.
I love how troy jokingly tries to start shit between joe and sydney lmao
Don’t feel bad about the rune business, Sydney, the mind starts to go at 30.
So, is Skid's name a reference to the Buggles, specifically the song, "Video killed the radio star," because you guys are doing vids now instead of straight podcasts?
Do I win a signed dollar?
Now THAT'S a theory I can get behind
I believe, by the rules of the contest, you must determine the what reference material the character is based on, not where his name comes from. That said, this has to be correct and is deserving of at least an initialed quarter
Ironically, that would be more shipping and handling, lol @@alltradesjack502
Oh. My. God.
The salad was named not after Julius Cesar, but after the Chef that invented it, Cesar Cardini, in Tijuana during the 1920s.
When Zephyr's Cat Fall reduces fall damage to zero, she shouldn't land prone so she did have an extra action that turn to have been able to stow her bow. Now admittedly she did take damage from the spikes at the bottom of the pit so I could see GM interpretation she would still land prone in that case, but something Kate should always remember about Cat Fall. If you don't take damage from falling, you shouldn't land prone.
Where do you take this from?
The falling rules indicate that if you take damage from a fall, you land prone, implying that if you don’t take damage, you stay on your feet.
BUT, you take damage from any falls over 5 feet, with the damage equal to half the distance fallen.
I believe Zephyr fell 20 ft, which was treated as 10 ft due to Cat Fall. If that’s the case, she should have taken 5 points of damage and landed prone. Unless I’m missing something, which is entirely possible.
Within the skill feat, not falling prone is called out as one of the benefits of being Legendary in the skill. (I had to look it up, as I was also thinking you didn't fall prone).
@@frankmichienzi8994 the Legendary line just clarifies that you don’t take damage from falling any distance and thus never fall prone from any distance. The rules for falling prone after taking fall damage is in the base rules for falling. Player Core pg 421 or pg 463 of CRB 4th printing. “If you take any damage from a fall, you land prone.”
This is correct.

I’m pretty sure Joe’s dice contaminated Kate’s while they were having lunch.
That was such a cool Buggles moment at the end
I just had a thought when I was listening to the episode. I know that since goblins are afraid of dogs they have goblins dog which I believe are a type of rodent. Maybe someone can modify the figurine to be a goblin dog so Buggles wouldn’t be so afraid of it? I also applaud Skid’s commitment to Buggles as a character.
Perhaps the best episode of the campaign so far. Everyone's mannerisms really played out into awesome scenes
Do we want to start a betting pool to guess what minute in the episode "Sydney does Math"?
Yet- Brutus says he was ambitious and Brutus is an honorable man.
the Naish needs to smudge or pray or cast a ritual cleansing on Kate's damn dice! She needs all of us.
I love giving players personal weapons like heirloom swords that can be upgraded as they level up and achieve personal goals. It makes them more interesting than using a magic weapon you find in a pile of loot.
Ohhhhh, that's a gooood cliffy! Good golly, I love the way Skid plays every goblin he gets his hands on (looking at you, Legacy of the Ancients), but Buggles is the absolute best!
This +1 potency rune has had more table time than any of the runes I ever had in any game XD
Whelp, I can barely remember my own mother's birthday but between an ex from high school (Bastille Day) and now Sydney (day after mine), I'll carry around 2 birthdays in my head for no good reason. Also I really need to stop watching this on my iPad in bed late at night as I can't control my laughter and I think it's annoying my wife to get woken up constantly.
For those who care, Clearwater to Ft. Myers is about a 3 hour drive, in clear traffic, which it won't be.
Been traveling for 9 weeks with work. I haven't been able to watch in a long time. These last couple days home I have truly enjoyed catching up. Everything on the GCP is super epic! Thank you fall the laughs and the excitement!
Just to clarify Troy is from Massachusetts but he’s not from Boston. He grew up in Haverhill which is on the border of New Hampshire. I grew up in southern NH and would go to the doctor in Haverhill. Massachusetts isn’t just Boston.
MY HOMETOWN IS NAPLES/FT MYERS! I feel so special.
HOWDY NEIGHBOR! One day we’ll get a live show in Florida. One day😢
The beginner's box has treasure with +1 runes, Abomination Vaults has weapons with +1 runes on the 1st level, I am sure other APs also provide some +1 runes very early
During cannon fodder last week Erik said you can have runes at level 2 and Troy did confirm that bolans staff that Mathew had him throw off the rope bridge was +1 and could have removed or transferred or whatever the rune off of it to the players. They should have two +1 items by now. AP isn't giving enough treasure packets. (My issue with pf2 is the math breaks without characters keeping up with proper loot drops)
Yup, you should be looking for +1 weapons at level 2. They may be confusing it with the Striking rune, which comes at level 4.
Yeah the rune is only level 2. That said, a character starting at level 2 can't afford a level 2 rune per the official rules.
@@thorinbane Or people can just play with Automatic Bonus Progression, thus, leaving money for actual magic items. You don't even need to cut the wealth the PCs acquire in half like the alternate rule mandated in PF1e.
Happy Birthday Sid! Golden Birthday!
1:34:34 "void kick!" my first thought was "no shadow kick!" i wonder if any of them would know that one though...
Had to pull up the video to see just how slow Syds "large step" was 😂
"Katana with a gun attached." - GM approved weapons.
Heeeey... Matthew's sister and I are birthday buddies!
If Buggles isn't riding that guard dog by the end of the AP I'm unsubscribing. This is a threat.
Arcs 🧐
That d'ziriak's name pronunciation might be very realistic. Don't they have a thing about not using their vocal cords?
UUGHH!! I just realized that this was the most recent episode..... now I gotta watch a different campaign hahaha
I recently watched your sadly unfinished Wrath & Glory game and noticed Joe was playing another religiously devout, scholarly support character. I'm wondering if he was thinking back to Britannicus Rex when he created Brother Ramius, or if the idea had just been percolating for a while. Or perhaps when Brother Ramius disappeared, he was transposed into the grim darkness of the far future, where there is... ONLY WAR. That would certainly explain his trauma.
In my game a player can have a higher level rune but cant invest in it untill they reach the relevant level. So if they had an item handed down from family etc it still has the rune but when they reach level they can activate it.
Crazy where I stay when I go down south for work is at our place at Indian rocks FL right outside clear water. If I'm traveling not following Phish. That's where I am at.
Didn't Sid talk about being a 30-something during her and Kate's Twitch takeover at Gencon? I feel so deceived 😢
Another amazing episode. Love you gals ’n guys.
I think that Zephyr would have been able to reposition the target into the pit if she was within range to get her in, but that depends on if the pit is considered to be an obstacle. Reposition does not require for you to be grappling the target, that is an option for the requirement but it also works if you have a hand free. But if the pit is considered an obstacle it wouldn't work because it says you cannot reposition someone into or through an obstacle.
I had a question about Asta's build, if she had a +2 or +3 modifier to her intelligence, because Phase Bolt would have added that to her D4 damage of the cantrip when she hit with it, but if she only has a +2 to her intelligence modifier and she rolled a 1 on her d4 it would have added up to 3. I just didn't know if it could have maybe been another "Sydney's doing math!" moment or if the part of the text was missed where she could add her spellcasting modifier to the damage for that spell as well.
This is the single most pissed off I've ever been at Joe. He reminds me of my sister. This is not a person anyone wants to remind anyone of.
Looks like an eldar solitaire
Ive been looking forward to this!
"TP-shay" cracked me up so much xD
Great episode.
Another great cliff hanger
Thank thbe gods it's Friday,, game day!
Also, falling damage doesn't ignore the first 10 feet. When you fall more than 5 feet, you take bludgeoning damage equal to half the distance you fell when you land. So Kate would've taken 5 damage from her and landed prone.
Sydney got the rune from the weapon of the evil Oaksteward (I'm not going to attempt to spell his name.)
Beaughloughainne.
Nice! I'm also a March 30th🎉🍻
So what level of Naish member do i need to be to get access to Skid's top secret lore calendar?
Will it contain the day of my death?
I really don't understand why y'all fixated on Sydney's character having a +1 weapon potency rune. The only issue is that a level 2 PC's starting gold is 30gp and a weapon potency rune is 35gp, but maybe since she joined partway through level 2, she started with a little extra. I can understand disallowing it on those grounds, but it's not like it's way out of left field.
good thing it's just one shae and not Touché!
Er, Buggles will still be on cold the next time he casts a cantrip or granted spell.
I think Grant didn't share a knowledge roll. (Not for comedic effect.)
Maybe during the training giant mountain.
an interloper is bad enough but a fleshy one?
In defense of Sydney, I find many text and emails abandoned in draft that I thought I finished and sent but were lost in a bout of ADD
20 foot deep and 10 feet less, is there no damage? worried about that failed save haha
Sydney has at least a +4 to perception (trained + lvl 2). Her Init should have been at least one higher.
the shade does it not have to make a hit chance roll for the touch?
Not if the spell was Void Warp (used to be Chill Touch). That just has a basic Fort save.
So.... if Brother Remius gets himself killed. Could we pleaaaase have CHAMP come back?
Where's the pit drop?!?!? How is that not quoting parks and rec????
March 10th, my birthday.. You totally forgot to mention it.
Fun Episode
man of all the awful things you can say to someone....why is "you're a real mess" among the funniest
A level 2 character having a level 2 item (weapon potency rune) is hardly unexpected to be fair to Sydney.
Not unexpected. But RAW, she would be 5gp short of getting one.
Her entire character had 30 gp to with with; the rune itself is 35. Accounting for the rest of her gear she greatly exceeded the limit.
@@Hardy_Harrr yeah I see that now. I was used to having to make characters at higher level where you usually get items equal to your level if you don't go with lump sum. Didn't catch that level 2 only gives a level 1 item without the lump sum. They're still acting like the rune is much higher level than it is, but you're correct, she could not have gotten it using the RAW.
@@BlueSapphyre Yep, my bad. Good catch.
I could listen to skid talk about 40K for hours
Troy's really hit a strong stride the past few eps. His narration game is tight.
I hope he trims some of the needless encounters that APs bloat with, so we get more rp and story eps.
Joe rolls so bad because he's a rule nerd
Ugh remote learning days ruins snow days. 6 hours of homework ruining childhoods everywhere. I teaching my kiddos excel, ai, & google to blast through schoolwork on those days so they can go do more important things like being kids.
Yeah... Joe needs to stop chiming in out of the blue to enforce rules on other players, especially for things that are already a round past. Just takes the steam out of the moment and made what would have been a very solid round for Kate deflated.
Love the show, but the rules lawyering tied with the overbearing interjection is jarring.
Can you please clip the comparison between Troy and Francis on their lunch breaks? Just for the laughs, and definitely not to highlight the duality of Troy nor start a folk legend about a cryptid producer.
Joe stopping Kate's turn bc of a mistake on the previous turn 😐
sydney flavor cheated.
C'mon Joe...
Are you talking about the rules lawyering? In Troy's favourite sport, soccer, there's controversy about VAR (the video assistant referee). It's been recently introduced and now every time there's a goal or possibility of a remotely serious foul, the game grinds to a halt while the VAR checks that everything was right. Players can't properly celebrate a goal any more because you have to wait for VAR. People are beginning to realise that while on-field referees did and do make mistakes, human error is arguably an acceptable trade-off for a smoothly flowing game.
Joe seems to have appointed himself this game's VAR.
Let me preface this by saying I love this crew and the show and I generally really admire Joe's hard work in studying and understanding the mechanics. That said, I feel strongly he needs to remember he is a player in this campaign not the GM. He needs to let Troy run the game and adjudicate rules decesions. Frankly he needs to stay out of that functionality.
His involvement in GM decisions undermines Troy as the GM and creates strife amongst the players.
Just a thought: I like listening to the show on x32 speed, after I watched it normally... Don't know why. 😅
x32? So you can relisten to the whole episode in 3.2 minutes?
@Saluno375 On repeat. It sometimes sounds like something an alien could listen to or even sing to... But only with this show... Don't know what else would sound like that.
Great episode, too bad the banter takes up so much of it
I don't mind the long bant since the episodes run pretty long
Love the bant!
I don't mind at all, the banter is one the best parts of each episode, imo! It's also something that clearly distinguishes the GCP from other podcasts. I was iffy with it at first as well, years ago, but now I look forward to it so much that I sometimes re-listen to the banter part of past episodes!
