I love my XC90. It’s my daily driver and I wouldn’t trade it for any of the newer stuff. Maybe a newer XC90 but after seeing some of these tests, it’s made me such a confident driver on the roads knowing that I’m driving one of the safest cars ever produced!

My mom and granny were in a Volvo S80 travelling at forty mph when suddenly they had a collision with a VW Transporter travelling at 80mph! My mom and granny survived with no injuries! God bless Volvo!
The 1st "moose test" result is arguably the most impressive. No other SUV comes close to that kind of handling capability. The driver had time to make adjustments IN THE TURN!!
They can. I’m 12 years into mine and will get another 12 out of it. Maintenance and then when repairs do need to happen they are more expensive, but it is what it is.

Hey! How many miles you own it? Its expensive to maintain? Any sign of rust anywhere? I cant decide: for for xc90 2006-2009 or something modern like Toyota ~2012. Prices are the same, but nearly 6 years difference.
Its amazing to work in an ISO manufacturing plant, and only 2 employees are driving Volvo. Most of the rest are driving "a common man's car". Which was what my father called GM.
Volvo stopped the production of making the xc90 2.5T in 2006 , in America and other countries. I know that there is the facelift model from 2007 to 2014 of the 2.5T but i don't trust it. These are sold in Russia, Thailanda, China etc.
The XC90 is/was a very safe car - but quite expensive to own and repair. One thing to know is the shape was unchanged from 2002-2014 HOWEVER structural changes were made in 2010. The 2010-2014 XC90 have better crash safety especially in the small overlap shown at 1:08. Even so, before these changes the XC90 was already a safe car.
Nope, they brake that fast. Dad's got a custom, 1 of 1 special order twin turbo v8. Got 305 wide wheels all round, stops from 100 to 0 in 24 meters. Only thing limiting them from factory was how thin the wheels were. Look at how the volvo trucks brake, same tech, and they stop on a dime!
@@ar12. big brakes, 305 wide tires, so soft you can pull apart the tread with your fingernails, and reworked traction control systems. It was tested at the dealership, with markings painted down. I wouldn't believe it either, but it's true! It's fucking insane how well it brakes, your eyes feel like they are going to pop out of your head, and your bowls may make sudden, large movements upon sudden braking.

2005 XC90 V8...still love it in 2021. My wife will not let it go. Ruby Red with wide 19” custom wheels and tires. Great car.
The 19" wheels are specific to the Executive model. Does it have reflective silver outer caps on the rear view mirrors?

0:35 32m breaking from 100 kph seems way way off. Even with V8 breaks, which are 336mm and quite big calipers. 30m is a Porsche 911 territory :D
