  • On this episode we will see the Cool down of LNG Cargo Tanks it is an operation requiring good time management and communication by all teams
    The operation is explained step by step by him and some items that require additional attention are highlighted.
    This is also a cool down operation with two spray pumps from two separate cargo tanks having the spray line isolated, this is an operation possible to be conducted on all membrane type LNG carriers.
    The target during these operations is to achieve the required ready to load temperature in order to accomodate our next cargo.
    Part 2 is also available on the link below

      It will be a good video if u can make regarding Gas management system on different types of LNG/C or your present vessel, cause this is quite tricky - CT pressure management .

    Dear Captain good choice for training, specialy using real plant onboard LNG. If you accept one sugestion, is good prior , to explain shortly ,way is necesery that procedure, when -after drydoc or another situation . Is good to show the type of LNG (membrane) general wue and , at least one Cargocontainement ( cargotank) have liquid cargo for using during cooldown procedure .After this short introduction the video was excelent for junior officers/cadets.

    Very nice video capt .one thing in this show we don't hear any communication between chief and deck cargo to cross check valve opening and confirming pump running without any abnormalities noise or other safety information.
    But very informative video..thankfully for chief off.

  • @konstantinoschristou5870

    Normally if a valve is giving you a fault (on your DCS, In a power plant or a rig) you send the electrician to inspect specific control/motor valve and check the feedback switch, will you do the same with your system?
    Also, you mentioned that you have people on deck checking for possible leakages. What's the visual indication? How you locate a leakage?
    Thank you in advance for you response.

    • @nickthesailorman360
      @nickthesailorman360  Před rokem

      Hello Konstantine, Yes indeed the ETO will go and have a look on the actual indication and the follow up as required.
      Well if you have a minor leakage you will see the following liquid dripping on deck and this particles evaporate and you will see a small cloud.
      The larger the amount of liquid the larger the vapour cloud.
      And if it falls on water asta na pane RPD rapid phase transition.

      Recommending English practice so you're capable of communicating clearly. Notice the heavy accent used, it is often a safety issue with such mediocre English knowledge!

    • @nickthesailorman360
      @nickthesailorman360  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Low duty handles gas and sends it to the engines or GCU

    • @nickthesailorman360
      @nickthesailorman360  Před 8 měsíci +1

      High duty while loading excess generated vapours are sent ashore and pre dry dock you can use it to warm your tanks faster
