I have an 88 b250, it was waaay too scary to drive it when I bought it. Sorta have got used to it :) I remember how I felt when driving home in pitch black ,the van just wanted to jump off the road
I love these old Dodge vans. I'm one of 6 kids so we've always had a full size van in the family. We had a 74 (B300 Royal Maxivan - 15 passenger conversion), 77 (B300 cargo van), another 74 ( B200 conversion van), and a 97 (B3500 15 passenger van). The steering bushings and shocks probably need to be replaced on your test van because all of ours were nice and stable with good enough feel (far from sports car but not all over the place like yours). Also, yours probably needs a tune-up because ours can get to 75-80mph and stay there on cruise control all day with my parents, and us 6 kids on board with luggage. It does get interesting on windy days but not as bad as a VW bus LOL!
Looks like the driver sits at least as high as a modern Suburban, if not higher. View of the road is excellent in the van. You can barely see over the hood in a Suburban.
