Ok, let’s just talk about the hair first, because it’s freakin’ amazing! 😍 Congratulations on hitting this first milestone! Thanks for more great advice! 🙏🏻
Hey Shae! Your video really inspires me to get my Etsy shop starting as well. And 500 sales in 2,5 months? Girl take that in, even if it´s just for a moment, as you have indeed done the work to now understand how to go from beginner to intermediate and soon, master!
I clicked sooo fast! Since I discovered your channel, I've been seriously thinking about starting an Etsy store myself, but I have yet to do it. Also, congrats on 500 sales!
I love that you agree with me 😂😂😂😂 test and try new things for your own audience!!! I get tired of seeing others copy what is working for someone else rather then adding their own flair. ❤❤❤❤❤
This video was so helpful!! I am a sophomore in high school, so I decided to create and sell digital printables for students. I have the niche down, but your video made me realize I need to start posting more listings! I really hope I can reach the point you are at with your shop. Thanks for the inspo!
Hi! Congrats on your shop, I totally wish I started this kind of stuff in high school! Yes listing consistently is the key to growing a brand new shop! Best of luck :)
Congratulations.... I just came through your video..... I needed help in starting my etsy store.... And since your a beginner it would be really perfect to talk to you....
Great video! I think the important part about niching down, which you mentioned is to focus on the customer and not the product. Find a customer niche that allows you to produce a variety of products that meet that customers needs. Some people struggle with creativity because they restrict themselves to niche products instead
Do you recommend starting ads right away even if you only have 3 listings in your shop? And love that you share your progress on CZcams. It’s so helpful and gives us proof that it is possible for us too 💗
Hi! Thank you :) No, I don't recommend running ads until you've gotten a few sales and reviews. I think I had about 10 sales and 2 reviews (those two were from family/friends lol). But you don't want to run ads to a shop that doesn't have reviews yet! And then when you do run ads, I don't recommend running them to all listings, just to your best performing listings :)
thank you and great content, could you make a video please about etsy ads and how do you make a listing of a CANVA template, like a full tutorial from research to listing. That would be really helpful
Enjoy your vids, very helpful. That's the rub, isn't it? Autopilot income isn't so autopilot when you're looking to keep your store relevant against the competition that is grinding away every day. When does it stop? Or does it? It becomes a quality of life issue with the zeal of creativity sacrificed by the drudgery of burnout. Congrats and best of success. Cheers...
Thank you! It's so true, it really never stops haha. But that's sort of the fun with online business too- you're always learning and trying new things! Definitely never gets boring!
Congrats! I love watching your channel. I started my Etsy shop in February and just passed 50 sales so I’m a ways behind you 😅 But I stay at home full time with 2 little kiddos so I’m lucky to get 1-2 hours a day to work on building my shop. My digital products are also pretty time consuming to create (planners, stickers) so this has given me some good ideas for listing some variations! My question is, will you always strive to put out a new listing daily? Or do you think you’ll be able to slow down once your sales are more established? I hear the daily listing advice a lot but I wonder how people balance that with burnout.
50 sales is still so great!! I realllllly hope I’ll be able to slow down at some point but I don’t see that coming anytime soon. Also, even if I do slow down, I still will be in my shop every day, whether that’s listing or updating existing listings, just to keep the algorithm happy 😆
I see that you spaced your YT name, it looks good! Thanks so much for this info! I'm also new to Etsy, I'm doing POD, but I find that your advice applies to my business model as well.
@@AlexisLK I erased my prev comment but now she's saying something sim. so I have to comment, maybe wait and see what folks like then iterate so get started faster, (with less items) but watch stats esp if you run ads..then iterate on the hits...spending your time that way...just a thought.
Thanks for this video you gave me good ideas for my shop! I think my store might be at the point where it’s starting to look a little too “messy” I was trying to test things out without keeping the customer in mind at first, so I started off with wall art and then quickly changed my mind and then I have Instagram templates, bio links, church invite cards, I am working on a habit tracker… so I’ve been pondering on my customer instead of my product, and I think I want to make my store a store where business owners and content creators just entrepreneurs in general, can have templates that make their lives easier e.I the Instagram templates, and something like habit tracker, can also help with their busy lives ! But I’m just struggling on figuring out how to put that all together nicely without it, looking like it’s all over the place! I also want to do what you said not just hop into another product but changing the colours & the listing photos etc!
Hi! Yes my store kind of was like this too. I had templates for a bunch of different customers and wasn't staying cohesive. I think one thing to help your shop is consistent branding- so all your listing photos have similar fonts and your shop should have a cohesive color scheme, while also testing different listing photos. My shop is like this now where the listings are cohesive and it's in the space of "helping small business owners save time"
@@whatshaesells I’m wondering how can my colours be cohesive if i try out new colours ? For example I did a bio link and it’s all neutral colours ( hasn’t sold ) but what if I want to try retro colours like pink, blue, green? Do you think as long as I keep the fonts similar and the same listing style it should be okay ?
@@RebeccaBancarz Yes what I mean is your listing colors- so the backgrounds and fonts you use, etc. stay consistent. It's definitely a balance. A good example is SunshineStudioBtique where they are doing completely different colors with the templates and yet there still is a consistency between the listings
@@whatshaesells oh okay ! I know what you mean like the background , I usually try to stick to neutral background for almost all listings ! I’ll check them out! Thanks :)
Congratulations on your lovely milestone. Wishing you continued success and elevation. Thank you very much for sharing your experience. This video would have been more beneficial for me if you showed some example or graphics of your listing.
Hi! I am soooo new to youtube and learning. but right now I use canva to edit my videos. Also imovie if I need to adjust the volume! I have struggled to find a good microphone (I'm on like my 4th mic at this point lol) So it's been a big learning process!
I really wish I could share more specific examples of my store to illustrate what I'm talking about! Unfortunately, though, I'm not sharing my store name publicly right now... mostly because I don't want to tank my conversion rate on Etsy
I admire you so much!!!! I really hope you make your dream come true.Thank you for taking your time to share you progress with us, you really keep me motivated. Best wishes and lots of love, you are amazing!
Thank you for sharing your insights! Is there ever a problem with having duplicate content in your store that just has color or font variations? For example, do customers ever buy 2 items, thinking they're getting something different, and then upset that it's the same item in a different color? Or does Etsy care that you have multiple listings that are nearly identical? Do you ever delete any of them? Thanks again for sharing your experience!
Hi! Good question. Etsy totally allows you to have duplicates so it's not a problem in that way. I have had a couple of customers ask but it hasn't been a problem, as long as I keep prices consistent across the variations and am very clear with what I'm selling! I have had someone accidentally buy two bundles (a smaller and larger) and the larger bundle contained everything the smaller did so it was duplicated. So I just refunded them for the smaller bundle! I do think the benefits of this strategy outweigh any potential issues for sure though
First of all CONGRATS for your 500 sales!! And thank you again for sharing these information. I have a question regarding what you said about using multiple version of one product, will I put all the versions I made in one listing, or each version will be a stand-alone item? I will be thankful for helping.
Hi! Thank you :) They are completely stand-alone listings. The purpose of creating different versions is to test what works but also to have more listings up and get more chances of getting a sale!
Hi Shae! I am new to Etsy and I have a question! When you make sale's on Etsy, do they pay you first, then you pay the POD company, or do you have to pay for your products first out of your own pocket. The reason I asked is because I don't have access to credit cards at this time. Please help, thank you ❤❤!
Hi! Great question! I don't do POD specifically but Etsy did require that I use a credit/debit at first because at the very least you are spending on product listing fees of $0.20 per listing. As far as I know for POD, Etsy pays you, but then you pay the print provider. So I think you would need a credit or debit card
You pay first. Etsy doesnt cooporate with any PoD company as finances. They are dealing with items but no Wallet. You pay for products at PoD, then EVENTUALLY etsy pay you. I'm saying it because I do PoD. Etsy installed " reserves " on my funds which I'd 75% of product price. They can hold it up to 90 days
Hi! Yes, list the design on different kinds of shirts like t-shirt, long sleeve, sweatshirt, and try out different mockup images. You could easily try out 3 different mockups per shirt or cup!
This was great! I often see this working for digital products, but don’t understand how it’ll work for physical products. I sell handmade potting mixes, and many plants can thrive in the same mix. I struggle with trying to make different listings without having my customers buy the same mix over and over again by singling out each plant it works for in a new listing. How do you think these tips would work for physical product?
Hi! You’re totally right, with digital products/POD the competition is so high that listing consistently is a way to counteract that. But it’s not necessarily realistic for physical products. I still recommend testing out different listing images for physical products and being active in your shop every single day to help the Etsy algo. Also creating bundles and up selling is a valid strategy for physical products as well :)
It's all organic traffic or Etsy ads! Most of my sales are from organic but I currently pay $25/day for ads. At that time of this video I think I was at like $15/day for ads
I just catch you, interesting process, on some point you cannot improve your sells on yetsy I think, improve buy adds, discount or bundle, you must drive buyers from other platforms, insta tube or face. Just a thought. I' m thinking opening a store, project of tiny house and other... Let's see
Hi, it's great following along your journey as I just started myself this year as well. I'm definitely struggling through finding my niche + not being all over the place, but I feel I need to start by "being all over the place" in order to find what works. What are your thoughts on that?
That's a good question. I think there is a balance. You want to make a variety of items to test, but you don't want to jump around to different customer groups if that makes sense. If you happened to see my niche research vid I posted a couple of days ago, it explains it better, but as long as you do proper niche research to make sure your niche has good keywords & newer shops are making it in that niche, then I would stick with that niche/customer group. For instance I am selling templates specifically for small business owners, and although I am iterating and testing what works in that space, I'm not going to start making items in a completely different niche (like wedding templates for instance) just to try to test more things.
Congrats! Could you tell more about etsy ads or pinterest strategy? I mean how you can get 500 sales in 2 months , your listing cannot display on page 1 without etsy ads
Hello! I definitely have first page listings without ads, but I have ran ads pretty early on- just at $5/ day for a while. My strategy is to not run ads from the beginning- wait until you have some sales and reviews. And also don’t run ads to an “unproven” listing because you will be wasting money. These days I only run ads to my top sellers or items that are new but I know will sell well. I don’t have a Pinterest strategy yet because I haven’t done anything with it but I will be starting it next month :)
@@whatshaesells I have 17 listings and 3 sales, no reviews, should I use erank + everbee to find niches first or just to increase listing to 100,200 first before run ads and do anything, thanks
Hi! Thank you :) So it depends on what you are selling- for digital products, I design everything from scratch in Canva. I don't have a design background so there was a bit of a learning curve at first. People who do print on demand also can design in Canva or really any design software. I've also heard of people hiring the design services out (like on fiverr), but I recommend learning how to design it yourself at first!
@@whatshaesells me too, I am learning but sometimes the shops that I used to inspired from them , they used some beautiful images on their frame but I don't know where I can find this kind of images so that I can drag them on my frames. I try to look for them in canva but I couldn't find them
@@sefadinealiidriss8396 I have used some from Canva. What I do is save the image with a transparent background and then place it over the frame and resize it to fit the frame!
Hey Shae, Congrats! You’re doing amazing, has a long way to go. I got a doubt, so when you’re listing various versions of one single product say purple, pink and grey is all the of those products are essentially same ? Like when customers download do they all get every possible colour available or just the one shade you’ve used for the mock-up image.
Thank you! It is a completely different listing and different template file when the customer purchases. That's the easiest way for me to keep the different colors separate. But I know some people have found success by making a bundle with different colors but I just haven't done that yet!
ok so you dont put the same template in one listing with diff options 0 you actually put them in different listings so as to make more listings. I aam opening my shop next week and i was wondering about that as i see alot of people putting different options in one listings, coool also I love how your points are different than others on youtube! i find most say the same thing which is fine as maybe that's what worked for them but it is also nice to hear something else lol I have a already created different google sheets to keep an eye on all of those things you said were important so im going down the right path also giiirl you are GORG :)
Thank you :) It does depend on what your niche is, some people selling physical products will do a lot of options in a single listing but personally I think the simpler the better and you don't want to have a bunch of different things the customer has to choose that could potentially be confusing for them! For digital products I definitely recommend different listings :)
I am strategic- I haven’t always been, I had to learn the hard way! I currently run $15/day across just 20 listings. I choose to runs ads only on the top and then maybe a few new listings that I know will do well
Wow! That is an amazing achievement! Congrats! Can I ask though what do you mean by 6 figures? Because it seems XXX,XXX , but in your calculations I can only see 5 figures 😮 I'm a bit confused🙈
that’s amazing! congratulations! do you work full time on your online businesses? I have a regular job also full time and find it difficult to feel energized to make many listings to post regularly. i know i need to change that and focus on this goal
Thank you :) Etsy is still a side hustle for me but my full time job is a online business so my schedule is flexible. I was spending about 4 hours a day on Etsy- which I know is a lot and not realistic for most people- but I am down to under 3 hours a day and some days just a couple of hours. I am way faster than I was when I first started! The way I see it though, is Etsy has basically replaced the random things I was doing after work- like watching TV, so I might as well put that time into building the Etsy shop!
Congratulations on this huge milestone! I'm doing my best to get there too, your insights are incredibly valuable, and I appreciate you sharing them with us. Thank you! Quick question: what's your process like with a/b testing? I'm currently testing a different primary photo for a specific listing without changing anything else, but what I've noticed is that even though I run Etsy ads on the 2 listings that are virtually identical except for the primary photo, one of them always gets way more views. Also, what do you recommend doing with the listing that did not perform well? Should I delete it and risk losing potential sales from those who favorited it?
Hello! I do something similar- I usually will have 2 or 3 different primary photos that I test, but I will also vary titles/tags just to give them more exposure. Sometimes a certain combo of keywords will just take off when others won't. Then on future iterations of the product (like a different variation of it- different color/font/style, etc), I will favor the higher performing keywords from the first set. Sometimes I will use the exact same title, tags, etc from the highest performing listing on a new variation of the product. I haven't been deleting/deactivating too many listings, mainly because I think it's too soon and I want to give my items a lot of time to sell and get found in the algo. I have had some items that didn't sell well at first but then a month later start performing better for whatever reason
@@whatshaesells I see, but wouldn't changing multiple variables at a time make it hard for you to pinpoint what worked exactly? if the goal of the a/b testing is to determine which primary photo is best then changing the SEO will mess with the results. But still I can definitely see the benefit of playing around with multiple variables at once for exposure purposes. Thanks again Shae!
@@salmaah6145 Yes you're right, from an experimental perspective you're supposed to just change one variable at a time and keep the others the same, I used to do that with my listings but I felt like I was missing out on some exposure by trying different keyword combos as well. You'll still get good data on which keywords/cover photos do well. Up to you!
Nope. I am not new to online businesses, my full time job is selling physical products on eBay. So even though Etsy is completely different and I had to start from square one, I’m definitely using some strategies that I’ve learned from other biz ventures
So when I “niche down” is it possible if I could two like fitness and health or just one or the other for ex (healthy recipes, with workout trackers, wellness guides etc) for digital products
Hi Shae! Thanks for sharing your journey 😊 I am fascinated how professional your videos look and how quick you were successful on Etsy. Me too, I am launching my store now with printable wall art right now, so you are a big inspiration to me. As I see in this video you choose your keywords intuitively and experiment with it. I was wondering if you are using any software in order to analyse which keywords are working or not? Thanks a lot, BR Isabel🌸🌿
Hi! Glad these videos are helpful :) I currently use erank! I think it's the best because it's quite cheap and gives me the data I need. I am posting a video this week (probably tomorrow) about how I actually do SEO research in erank!
@@whatshaesells Thanks a lot for your answer! I am waiting for your video 😊 Do you also have any 'price finding' strategies or do you plan to make a video? I find it very hard to decide for a price.. me personally I would rank my product prices higher than the average I saw (because me personally as a customer I would spend this amount for this product) but I see that everyone else is cheaper, so I am not that confident to put the product for the price I would like. 😬
@@IsaRoseLie That would be another great topic for a video! I decide on price based on the market, but I tend to price slightly higher. I agree that you definitely don't want to price too low! I usually will try to justify having a higher price by providing more value (more pages, additional bonus items, or just a better looking design). I've found that works fine and people will still buy my products even if there is a cheaper version that's not as good!
Cool video, this was a helpful Etsy informational video - I just joined your channel fam... I've been on Etsy for about a week now (My Niche is Egyptian Queen fashion and decor (Through print-on-demand, with original Egyptian paintings I created)). I have around 150 listings listings up (with many variations to each product). I have been doing some of the things you mentioned in this video (at least 3 postings a day, marketing on other social media outlets, focusing on just my niche), and so far my numbers to date are 133 views, with 113 stores visits, no sales. Any advice you can give on what I can/should do next, I would be very greatful for (Oh yeah, I have a background in visual arts, and written word art, and have had some success in other areas (Not sure if this info would help with the advice you might give, but I thought it couldn't hurt to mention it either)). Thank you in advance.
Hello! Thank you for watching :) Your artwork sounds amazing! Since you already have been listing regularly, my advice would be to check the SEO on the keywords that you're using in your titles, description, and tags. I'm not familiar with the niche but you'll want to make sure that you are using keywords with low comp/high search. In my niche research vid, I go into more detail about this: czcams.com/video/VFAYONYBtjA/video.html
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉! I love to see your progress and to watch all your video. I have two questions, if you don't mind: 1) how do you keep your brand visual cohesive when you are testing with the listing? 2) regarding niching down, I have a specific audience in mind, however I want to sell different types of digital products, like digital planners, printables and audio, all in the same niche. Do you recommend this approach or should I create different shops in the same niche, each one for different digital products? Thanks a lot in advance! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello! I keep it consistent by having the listing photos/shop branding similar throughout. So similar layout, fonts, etc. I might have 3 different styles of listing photo that I test but I keep it consistent :) I wouldn't worry too much about each listing looking extremely similar- just make sure you have similar branding colors (like listing photo background/style) and that the products are within a similar niche. If you have a specific audience in mind, don't create separate stores. Create one store with all those products for that audience/niche :)
@@whatshaesells thank you! Your feedback is really very helpful! I was struggling a lot to decide about creating one or more store. Now, I will stick with one. Thank you 💞
509 sales is great to think of. How much profit, and this including how much time you spent on them and what crazy low price did you sell them each for?
haha thanks! My average sales price is around $5. I don't particularly sell my items "cheap", they are simply at market value based on my research! Some of my earlier products were cheaper than the products I make now... I'm always trying to increase my average sales price by making higher value items or larger bundles
Hey Shae, this video helped alot especially the point on A/B testing, would you have a rough number for how many variations for each version? Currently I'm on my 7th iteration of testing different layout/design and I'm not sure if thats too much.
Hi! Glad it was helpful :) the A/B testing varies so much because for me it is very data driven based on what products have already performed well for me. But when I am starting a new product from scratch, I usually make one or two versions of the product and test 2-3 different cover photos. Then if that gets sales/likes, I will create more versions/bigger bundles. So for example, if I was making instagram posts, I would start with say 25 posts in 2 different colors, with three different listing photos (so a total of 6 listings). Then depending on how these do, I would make larger bundles on what do well (like 50-100 post templates in a bundle), and try more colors or other variations.
@@whatshaesells Hey shae thank you for the advice! Will let you know how it goes. Just to share what I'm currently doing, I have 9 listing (going for 1-3 listings a day), each listing I have 3-4 photos ( 3 mockup + 1 display + 1 video(when possible) ) . All 9 are different design variations. I'll think of how I can play around with the colours for each design so I can A/B test that. Got my first sale yesterday! (Even though it was from offsite ads lol)
@@josephhee1056 Oh that's a great strategy! That's basically what I did at first. I do recommend adding the full 10 listing photos if you can though! Congrats on your first sale!
@@whatshaesells Thats a great tip! Actually didn't think too much until i read this reply which prompted some googling 🤣I'll relook at my listings and fill them image slots. Appreciate the reply!
So, for the print on demand world, would you post identical listings with different shirt colors for the thumbnail? I have some apparel items that come in 3-4 colors. Should I make those 3-4 different listings with the same SEO and keywords, just change out the thumbnail?
I appreciate your vids. I want to change my listings to free shipping but I don't see an easy way to figure out more or less how much I should increase my prices to cover the extra cost. I'm selling prints in picture frames. I'm guessing they are probably between $10 and $20 to ship but don't want to guess. Any suggestions?
Thanks :) I still have been re-vamping them and trying to get them to sell. I've deactiviated a few items but since I haven't even reached 3 months yet, I'm not fully ready to give up on some of the older listings that aren't selling well. I think eventually I will deactivate more listings but months from now after I've already tried troubleshooting the listing!
@@whatshaesells thats a great advice! Thank you so much! So if I understand correctly, if some listing are not selling you would still troubleshoot them after the 3 months mark, so give them a second 3 month period, and maybe after that deactive them?
@@evitawitzenhausen9240 I don't know for sure what I'll do after the 3 months mark since I haven't gotten there yet, but I would deactivate if they completely don't fit my store anymore and are just clogging up my store. If I do start deactiviating I'll make a video or short on it to show what my strategy for that is!
Congrats on the 500 milestone, Shae! This is really inspiring. I'm also working on launching my own etsy store in April, so I've been watching other sellers' videos. I have a question, I've heard a lot of sellers recommend new sellers to do a discount/sale on their launch day. Do you think this is a good strategy?
Thank you :) Yes I always run a sale! I run about a 15-20% off sale every 24 hours. I don't know how much of a difference it makes on launch day because Etsy isn't quite sure about your shop yet but it can't hurt!
@What Shae Sells thank you for the swift reply! Ah, you're right. I'll give more thoughts on it. I've seen some of my favourite stores would slightly increase and decrease their products' prices on different days. Maybe it has something to do with the product's popularity? Either way, I hope you'll reach 1000 milestones soon!🍑
Hey Shae, loving your journey and have been inspired to start an etsy store thank youu :)) Can you help me figure one thing out - If i am selling physical wall art, is it possible to create a listing where if the customer picks the smaller size options I will print it myself and post to the customer but when they choses a larger print size in the same listing, it can be handled by a print on demand company ? Sorry for the weird random question but it would really help me figure out how to start listing my products. Sizing is confusing me atm 😊Thanks so much ❤
Hi!! That’s amazing :) I do not know if there is a way to do this because the Etsy listing is integrated directly with the print production partner. I think it would make more sense to have separate listings for this because the way you ship, shipping/handling times, and everything will be different based on whether you fulfill it yourself or POD!
But what if a customer buys multiple versions of the same product thinking they're different products? It's the only thing that kinda worries me, would you make a refund?
Almost stop listening when you said Download 🤦🏻♀️ I have a feeling that these days only POD and DD are new Etsy shop products in 2023😵💫 we need more about real product sales strategies! But you did great job, good luck 🍀
Yeah these strategies aren’t going to be as applicable for physical products. I would probably make $0 if I followed most “traditional” Etsy advice 🫢 Thank you!
Hi! I’m also starting my own Etsy shop for digital goods and I have one question. When you do your mock-ups right, when you crop the photo so it could fit the frame does that mean whenever a customer were to buy that digital product would it not be the correct size? One more question, how do you make sure you’re not using any copyrighted material? I’m not trying to put a lot of work into one art print come to find out it’s not for profit use.
Hello! So for your first question, I don't know if that applies to what I sell- as I'm selling Canva templates, I choose the sizing (for instance 8.5"x11" or A4). The mockup images do not impact the size. That's a good point about copyright. You can search on www.uspto.gov/trademarks/search - this is what I use as it's for USA copyright. For me, I am designing everything from scratch and it's not art (it's templates like checklists, branding templates, etc), so there is less risk to copyright. I will check certain phrases or things, and especially common phrases in my title/tags. For POD and other digital art spaces, copyright is a much bigger issue so I would be checking basically everything on that website. I also make sure all my fonts, graphics, etc are for extended commercial use- either using what's in Canva or purchasing the elements themselves from somewhere that would include that license. Hope that helps!
@@whatshaesells Oh ok that sums it up because I’m making wall art, so when I wanted to see how it would look on a mock-up it was throwing me off how I had to crop it to fit that mock-up. so I thought I wasn’t making it the right size. And usually for Canva most are copyrighted some aren’t but I believe it’s the free ones that should be good but the paid ones not, I might be wrong though.

Hi! Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to help!
Great video! I think the important part about niching down, which you mentioned is to focus on the customer and not the product. Find a customer niche that allows you to produce a variety of products that meet that customers needs. Some people struggle with creativity because they restrict themselves to niche products instead
Yes absolutely! There is so much focus on WHAT to sell rather than WHO to sell to
It was really helpful for one who just started out.
thanks for making such an informative video. thank you so much from the bottom of my heart
.
Thank you! So glad it was helpful :)
Good video. I have a new store also. I am using Google ads so I don't have to keep listing products. I knew listing was a reason you grew quickly.
Hi! Thanks for watching :) Oh that's super interesting. Have you seen lots of growth from Google ads?
Do you recommend starting ads right away even if you only have 3 listings in your shop? And love that you share your progress on CZcams. It’s so helpful and gives us proof that it is possible for us too 💗
Hi! Thank you :) No, I don't recommend running ads until you've gotten a few sales and reviews. I think I had about 10 sales and 2 reviews (those two were from family/friends lol). But you don't want to run ads to a shop that doesn't have reviews yet! And then when you do run ads, I don't recommend running them to all listings, just to your best performing listings :)
@@whatshaesells thank you so much! This was helpful🙏🏼
Great advice, Sweet Friend! Thanks for the info!! Congrats on your milestone sales!! Woo Hoo!!!
You’re welcome, thank you!! 🎉
thank you and great content, could you make a video please about etsy ads and how do you make a listing of a CANVA template, like a full tutorial from research to listing. That would be really helpful
You’re welcome!! Yes I’m making a video about ads in a couple of weeks, that’s a great idea about a Canva vid!
Interesting and informative tips but would of appreciated having visual examples included throughout this post to support understanding.
Good point, thanks! I am making more vids that go into more detail about this :)

For a brand new YT channel, your views count is higher than normal, I can see that you're going places.
Thank you so much!! I've been so pleasantly surprised with the growth on CZcams and it makes me want to just keep making more videos!
Glad this info was helpful! Yeah I definitely think the strategies can be applied to POD!

Subscribed wow YT algo has been on point for me lately! I just started my etsy store!
Yay so glad you found this! Good luck with your new shop, that's so exciting!
Very helpful!!
Thanks :)

Thank you so so much Paula 🙏🏽 I am so glad it is helpful, I will keep sharing!
@whatshaesells Thanks for you quick response!
great video! Tons of great value here
First of all CONGRATS for your 500 sales!!
Any ideas how to list multiple versions of a listing If it's a shirt design or cup wrap
I love your videos, those are so extremely helpful, thank you so much for sharing!!! What is your Etsy Shop called?
You're welcome :) I'm not sharing my shop publicly right now because I don't want to negatively impact my conversion rate!

What is the name of your Etsy Store, please?
Hello! Thanks for watching :) I am not sharing my store name publicly because I don't want to negatively impact my conversion rate on Etsy
@@whatshaesells thanks :)
@@whatshaesells I have 17 listings and 3 sales, no reviews, should I use erank + everbee to find niches first or just to increase listing to 100,200 first before run ads and do anything, thanks
you are really amazing, we are happy for you?
please i want ask you a question , how and where people get their customize images for their design?
Thx for the tips.
ok so you dont put the same template in one listing with diff options 0 you actually put them in different listings so as to make more listings.
For digital products I definitely recommend different listings :)
you are so made for this holyy
Aww thank you!!
Congrats on 500!!!
Thanks 🙏🏽
Yay congrats on 500 sales! When you do your ads, do you run every listing? or are you strategic with which you have advertised?
I am strategic- I haven’t always been, I had to learn the hard way! I currently run $15/day across just 20 listings. I choose to runs ads only on the top and then maybe a few new listings that I know will do well
Wow! That is an amazing achievement! Congrats!
Can I ask though what do you mean by 6 figures? Because it seems XXX,XXX , but in your calculations I can only see 5 figures 😮 I'm a bit confused🙈
HI! I mean 6 figs in revenue, which is very different than profit. $100k per year is about $8333 per month so that's where my numbers are based on off
that’s amazing! congratulations! do you work full time on your online businesses?
Up to you!
Do you have a mentor or purchased a course to show you how to start on Etsy?
Nope. I am not new to online businesses, my full time job is selling physical products on eBay. So even though Etsy is completely different and I had to start from square one, I’m definitely using some strategies that I’ve learned from other biz ventures
You don't need to purchase a course on how to start on Etsy you can give a pro to setup an Etsy account
So when I “niche down” is it possible if I could two like fitness and health or just one or the other for ex (healthy recipes, with workout trackers, wellness guides etc) for digital products
If the niches are similar enough, you definitely could do both! As long as you keep a consistent aesthetic across your shop :)
I am waiting for your video 😊
Do you also have any 'price finding' strategies or do you plan to make a video?

I would love to view your store! Do you have a link?

you're welcome! Hope this helps :)
Thank you 💞

Are options (pink, tan, colourful) within listings or more individual listings better?
More individual listings! Especially for digital products.
I'm always trying to increase my average sales price by making higher value items or larger bundles
awesome! what is your shop?
Yes I would try out different colors. I also like to test different titles/tags if you have enough good keywords to vary them!
I appreciate your vids. I want to change my listings to free shipping but I don't see an easy way to figure out more or less how much I should increase my prices to cover the extra cost.
@@evesilhouette4724 Thank you :)
HI Shae, what do you sell on Etsy?
Hi! Canva templates!
@@whatshaesells Okk thanks for the response Shae, makes sense! looking forward to your next vid :) x
But what if a customer buys multiple versions of the same product thinking they're different products? It's the only thing that kinda worries me, would you make a refund?
Examples please 7:17
Almost stop listening when you said Download 🤦🏻♀️ I have a feeling that these days only POD and DD are new Etsy shop products in 2023😵💫 we need more about real product sales strategies! But you did great job, good luck 🍀
Yeah these strategies aren’t going to be as applicable for physical products. I would probably make $0 if I followed most “traditional” Etsy advice 🫢 Thank you!
Can you tell me what is listing and how to list?
Hi! I don’t have an in-depth tutorial on this yet, but if you search “create a Etsy listing” in google or CZcams, there are some great tutorials!
I wish someone would explain Etsy ads because I really don’t know how to optimize them
Hi! I am making a video on it, but it won’t be out for a few weeks. I am just figuring out how to optimize ads and they’ve definitely been working better for me. I will be sharing what I’ve learned!
Omg that’s great! Some people swear by them. I’ve been using them for a few weeks now but I haven’t been too successful.
How many images do u usually have per listing? Do u just switch out what the main listing photo is and have previous ones to see once clicked?
I fill out all 10 listing photos! My first couple showcase the product, but then I have information photos in there as well
Do you use same title and tags, when you duplicate you best selling listing
It depends… usually I will duplicate the title and tags that do well, but not the ones that haven’t gotten any search.
Can you put a link to your Etsy shop?
Can you please share your screenshot of "Etsy Marketing & SEO" Section. Because since 2 months in my shop it is showing 0
Hi! Oh no, that is strange if your stats are showing. Are you talking about the ads section within Etsy or the stats on the dashboard?
So do you list the same items with different cover photos to test? I just want to make sure I understand what you're saying about that
Yes! I iterate cover photos and keywords if I have a lot of great keywords I want to test out
