What's the best kind of board for NC surf. I live by Surf city. But I don't really want a longboard. I want to be able to somewhat carve a wave like I did when I was a teenager. But I'm also old and out of shape so I need a board to make up for my lack of strength to paddle in like I used to.

@@satevo462 Get a fish with volume and you will be happy every time there are waves! Also check out Kinetic boards, I have a retro fish and it is versatile on big days as well.

I grew up in Florida surfing. I moved to Atlanta and lived there for 20 years only getting to surf maybe once a year at best. Now I live on Topsail Island and I need a new board. I'm old, so I want a board that's easy to catch waves with like a longboard, but maneuverable like a short board. From what I've learned so far, I want a board with a lot of foam that floats (my fat ass sinks my 25 year old board from when I was a teenager) but is also maneuverable enough so I can cutback and catch floaters. Why kind of board do I need?

2 years ago. But look at groveler shapes. They're short and fat. But you can still whip them around and surf mushy waves.

Cracks me up when people say "I want a board that paddles like a longboard and turns like a shortboard"

I’m considering moving to North Carolina next year. I will be out there next month to visit and would love to come check this shop out! Any locals know if there’s a store front? I grew up surfing in California and would love to meet some locals to shred with!
