I have the 2023 Galaxy Book 3 base model 2 in 1 and I really like it. But now that I'm looking for a current model year, I'm not ready to purchase the same thing again and wanted some innovation that Samsung is not delivering in 2024 regarding aesthetics, etc.. But I still want a 2 in 1. So I almost picked up the yoga 9i, and after reading the reviews and going in to a store to physically hold the various units, I can say without a doubt they're not worth it at all. Like on any level and very impractical at that size unless affixed. The big detractor on all of these 2 in 1s that are high-speced is the weight of the unit. So the only contender if you are concerned about that is this laptop right here. And it just so happens the best buy of the stock this (yet). So when something is not practical but looks cool and isn't in stock, that tells me to wait to late 2025.
So is 14in one better for fans cuz im planning to get that one i don’t need 16 or 17in for school stuff For reference im a senior in college and usally have about 6 tabs open for assignments and research I own a 2019 dell inspiron and this would be a huge upgrade
Those thermals are a little worrying and LG must have known, which is even more concerning that thy could put something out with an obvious and potentially major drawback.
I picked one of these up in Best buy and it's really thin and light but In think they made it too light. The light feels for me makes it feel a bit cheap and the Gram I saw in the store had noticeable keyboard flex because it's so thin.
Should have a USB A and USB C on either side (more so USB C so you can charge either side). That would've made this pretty awesome in the ports section.
I agree with the Type-C allowing then charging from the left or right for left handed or righthanded mouse users. Getting the cable out of the way if left handed.
This is pretty hard to find on any laptops. I think it might be the cost involved. obviously it makes sense to put different ports on different sides. 1A 1C left side 1A 1C on right side. Sense most laptops don't do that my guess is this is a cost (possibly space) saving measure. Im surprised this laptop doesn't have micro sd card reader though.

thanks for the video . I'm very curious about this product and you're the first I saw to review it on CZcams . Did you experience excessive heat or fan noise during your test in premiere pro ? I mean not during the export but in the editing session itself ? Do you think it can handle some effect/transitions and basic color correction ? Do you think also it can handle some basic after effect project ? I'm not a professional editor but I'm kind of learning and want to be able to continue on my learning curve ... also what's your intuition about the sturdiness of the hinges ? thanks in advance for your answer and keep going . great video , well built and instructive .
Hi, yes it’s fine for that I took it to Taiwan and Japan as my video editing machine and it gets quite hot only when exporting video. Editing it was okay but depends on how long you are using it before it will then start to get a bit hot. I found elevating it really helps and drops temps a few degrees.
@@Techtablets Hi, would you know if this or the other 16 or 17 inch models which has the better / louder speakers? Also, when you say this model wasnt loud enough was it the same going to Gram Smart speaker settings or enchantment or perhaps you didnt mess with them! Thanks
the review is very nice, thanks, the laptop is actually very very nice, but tbh, i don't think current gen intel or amd chips are that good, especially when new generations are just around the corners promising some big improvements. so frankly this generation is a bit meh to me and to those who know a bit what is behind all these generations of cpus from intel/amd.
The mere presence of a numpad instead of better front facing speakers and more comfortable keycaps of a centered keyboard, make me disregard these laptops entirely.
They have a use but this as a tablet despite this great weight is too heavy yes. But folded and with the stylus it makes it more usable. Using a stylus on an upright screen isn't the same as flat.
Yes, it is a niche user case, as tablets should be hand-held and light. Also, a Windows tablet would be a poor substitute for an Android tablet or an iPad, as Windows tablets lack tablet support. I have bought them in the past, secondhand, as they lose value sharply due to the lack of demand for such devices. You can still use them as a laptop if they do not have a wobbly screen hinge.

I want a 15inch 2 in 1 lg gram.. 15 inch is the sweet spot and they could reduce the weight even further with a 15inch instead of a 16inch

probably circuit on the motherboard. A and C don't have the same circuit and need a bridge. So probably can't do it in a thin and small laptop.

A good option. Up to RTX 4070 I see, same weight but only 13" and thicker all depends on what you want.
